They'd just ship him back to the county jail for the duration ofthe trial. If he deson't file an answer it will go in to civil default. No trial. Civil Default Judgement. Sad thing is that his homeowners insurance may actually have to payoff on it. and I'm saying MAY! We don't know what policy stipulates for 3rd party liability!

After CW was arrested, he was SO upset about how he was being portrayed in the media. More so than the remorse and devastation of his family being dead. He was more concerned about what others thought of him after everything that had happened and after he made a partial confession. He was also very concerned about NK's name coming out. And at that point we did not even have many details. He is like a tree without any roots. A shell of a man without any true feelings.

“I don’t want people to think worse of me”. Those comments just illustrate how his mind works and lack of emotion - a tree without roots - perfect way to state it.

My husband and I sold everything but our house and moved out to live with them. To help our daughter in everyway we could. Frank and I had to work to pay our bills too. We were there for fifteen months.

Chris's mom came out to watch the girls for a few days, while Shanann and Chris went on a business trip with leVel, her co. Four nights and five days.

During that time, we weren't allowed to see our grandchildren or even eat dinner with them as soon as we got home. She brought them up stairs and stayed upstairs. She wouldn't let us hold them or anything. I found that very odd. One day I asked her why? She said what the Hell am I here for then? She screamed in my face in front of my granddaughters and said that I was very controlling. I was just like "wow"! I texted Shanann over and over again and she said relax mom. I'll take care of it when we get home. It was ridiculous.. I never spoke to Chris's Mom again. I had enough!!

Yes, her statement took the wind out of my sails.

@gitana1 am I correct in my recollection that with a civil Trial, they can force the defendant to answer questions under subpoena? In other words he cannot plead the 5th for questions?

If it goes to trial. If he never files an answer it goes to a default judgement. He can't be ordered to answer anything because the court would probably lose jurisdiction over him. But then again, assume they hold him in contempt, what's the worst that can happen. They order held for contempt!

How classless and despicable of Mother Watts.
What a horrible hag! Goes to show the difference between SW and her family and CW and his family. SW+ were way above the Watts'. The Watts' hated them for it because they felt inferior. SW's family were loving, supportive and kind. Its a darned SHAME the same cannot be said for the nest of vipers Shanann married into.

If Cindy had not set Chris against Shanann and did what a normal MIL would do accept her DIL and love her, I don't believe this would have happened. I might be overstretching but adult son's are influenced by their mothers. This was Chris's choice to marry her and she gave Cindy two beautiful grandchildren with another on the way.

I believe that they did pull it out of somewhere. She and the children had diagnosed conditions that they refused to believe.
They only wanted to talk about conditions that they had diagnosed, like bi polar and Munchhausen's by Proxy. Anything that they thought was damaging to her and it seems to me, that they are far crazier than they were trying to make her out to be.
If hate and malice can be called conditions, they had it in spades.

I don't believe they could have diagnosed a dirty diaper.

Does anyone recall seeing in the discovery, text messages between (I think) CW and NK, where he states something along the lines of “she supports me. Something similar happened between her parents as a kid”, “are we bad people?”, and something else about a free night in a hotel? I got the impression Shanann was aware of the affair, but I can’t seem to find those texts again...

He said nk "genuinely likes me" .Or past tense. I don't remember anything about his saying that nk had something similar between her parents as a kid. What do you mean "something similar"?

It depends on the dosage. My neighbour's daughter had Nephrotic Syndrome and was on a high dose of steroids and developed the moon face, constant perspiration extreme hunger and thirst, plus mood changes.

Whew! Just finished reading all of the discovery file! My heart literally hurts! Poor Shanann and her family. Why couldn’t he just leave and be a dead beat dad?!? Ugh. And NK her interview with media vs the discovery file. Wow and the recovery of the bodies omg I literally cried. Those poor babies and Shanann

And now- the 3 terabytes of video and pictures. Good grief this case is just heart wrenching!!!! But i will have to go though every one of those too.
