Yeah I see what you're saying I admit I just find it hard not to look for a reason. It doesn't have to be a good reason, just any reason that would tip someone who already had it in them to crack over the edge. I agree it's never going to make sense or be justified. I find myself wishing they would find out he had a tumor or something to explain it because I don't want to believe seemingly caring parents can snap like that. And didn't even Shanann's parents think he was a caring father up until then?

I am not trying to “defend” him with that. Even in the extremely unlikely chance that she did kill the girls and he snapped and killed her, his behavior and lack of apparent distress about it after would still absolutely boggle the mind. There's something really off with him and maybe I'm so curious I have some “on the spectrum” type people in my life.

Like way back in the thread someone mentioned something about a neighbor hearing him yelling but that doesn't go with any of the other descriptions of him from Shanann or her friends as far as I can tell. He seems like he just went around mimicking whatever he thought people wanted right up until the end. It's just weird to me.

Except all the evidence and the charges indicate that he did not just 'snap'.
He is no different to all the other FAs who plotted and murdered their families, and in most instances they had another woman.

I think I actually read most of it and I don't think it went into fact checking everything he said about finances for instance? (and I'm not saying that means much in the bigger picture of the case anyway)

They were investigating murder, not bank account balances. And they quickly had a motive. No reason to continue investigating once they had the guy and he confessed.

True. There are numerous cases where FA’s and serial killers have documented “mommy issues.”

This isn’t blaming women for the actions of a man, it simply helps explain part of his psychology.

I agree, I am female and I do not think this is blaming women. As you said it is documented and that cannot be ignored. This does not mean the fathers don’t play a role but I do think the mother is the significant player. From what we have witnessed so far, Cindy certainly seems to be leading the show,it is safe to assume that has always been the case. Chris did not want his mother to come when he was first arrested. After Chris spoke with his father, Ronnie called Jaime, not his wife. There are so strange dynamics in that family.

There didn't need to be confirmation that Nico was his child. CW knew it was his. And he still killed them all

We would all like to know why, but the only person who can really tell us most likely never will. We do know it was partially because of the affair. It was an evil act, he is an evil man, and there is something wrong with him. There have been many posts on here that speak to the mental/personality disorders that he possibly has. Sometimes there is no reason we can comprehend.

that CHRIS WATTS possibly had a girlfriend- NIKKI KESSINGER This information was
provided by TONY HUSKEY. HUSKEY forwarded an email communication between KESSINGER and
WATTS that may be relevant. Agent GALBRAITH requested that I do a full workup on this individual.

I thought so too and I find in most cases the girls look more like the fathers than the mothers. When I came out of my drug stupor from my C-section and they handed my daughter to me I said OMG she looks just like you to my husband!

I wonder why did Shanann decide to leave the husband home alone for 6 weeks? Was it common for her to spend 6 weeks in NC in summer, or was it something new? And if it was, perhaps it signified some change in their relationship?

6 weeks is a little bit too long.

@curiouschat , Reading the last portion of the discovery where all of the texts, phone calls and actions between CW, SW and NK were perfectly laid out in a timeline really made me see the big picture. There is a ton of information in the discovery and many pages are repetitive. It is a lot to digest. That last portion, along with the interviews with SW's family and friends, and the interviews/polygraph with CW were the most riveting for me.

Sorry Layla! I am in between cooking dinner and eating dinner. I need to know when NK called LE. We know that Huskey contacted LE approx 8 am on 8/15 and NK's first FBI interview was the afternoon of 8/15. Was she aware that Huskey called and/or did she call before or after that? MOO

The source is the Discovery dump. Either pages 1925 (@the bottom of each page or 1740 of 1960. NK’s failure to contact or the timing of NK’s contact is not mentioned in your quotation. Is it possible they contacted different LE offices around the same time?

I think both things were happening simultaneously. I believe that NK took some time to delete things before she went in. I will look back later. I think sometimes things seem to appear contradictory because you have different LE doing different interviews and different reports. They interview different people. Things were moving very quickly on this case.

it seems to me many people have a difficult time with the concept of evil so they try and find a reason why someone would murder their family-- there are evil people out there--some are thrill killers, some hide their evil behind a mask of apparent loving behavior, but underneath lurks evil and when something triggers that evil, the mask falls away and we are left with someone like Chris Watts

I see this photo, and I know why. CW wanted sex, sex, and more sex. It was a driving force within him. He wanted to destroy every burden and responsibility he had, wife, children, family, home, and start anew. I hope it’s okay if I post this photo of NK. In the discovery docs it is stated CW can be seen in the mirror taking the photo.

It sounds like Shanann was not withholding, so he just wanted different sex. And he somehow thought he was entitled to have whatever he wanted with whomever he wanted it with. IMO

Having a wife and children did not suit him any longer because he found someone new to play houses and grown ups with. His narcissism would not allow him to have anyone think he was an unfaithful deserting rat. His sociopathy allowed him to wipe out his pregnant wife and darling baby girls because he no longer had a use for them.

We don’t know, but it does clearly state, “The affair was only discovered after Kessinger contacted your affiant stating she had information regarding this investigation.”

NK was sending the nude photos to insure the opposite would happen. If she really wanted him to work things out,
she would have completely ended the relationship. Instead she manipulated him into thinking he needed to work thing out with his wife. Just like his parents manipulated him.

Probably was attracted to NK, because she reminded him of his mommy.

I’m sure there was DNA taken during the autopsies to verify parternity. I would think it would be standard practice.

The Golden State Killer was a cop. Murderers come from all walks of life. Ted Bundy looked like and seemed like a normal guy. Good looking and intelligent. You just never know.
