I hope only for what she truly did wrong, and not for assumptions and false accusations. I believe it is important to be fair and to strictly adhere to the facts.

She lied when she said she did not know Shanann's name for a while. That's a fact.

According to her texts, he could not keep his hands off of her prior to the trip. I have teacher friends who cannot afford multiple trips/ plane tickets, during the summers they fly home to the grandparents and stay for 5 or 6 weeks while the husband stays home to work.

According to the polygraph test, they had sex about once a week. This is what CW said.

I don't know where the truth lies. Perhaps, in the middle, as always?

I am surprised at all the comments about Shanann going to NC for 6 weeks was way too long. There are thousands upon thousands of married military spouses that are separated for months at a time with neither spouse carrying on an affair or murdering their entire family. Shanann's visit to NC for 6 weeks is NOT the reason CW murder his family. He did not just suddenly meet NK the minute Shannan's plane took off from Colorado. IMO CW and NK had been hot for each other months before Shanann went to NC

He explains she decided to stay longer because she would not be able to fly further along in the pregnancy.
Correct, but according to her FB it had been planned for some time.
ETA: Although this could have been before the FB video.

I am pretty sure this, "SHANANN recently took out $10,000.00 from his 401k to catch up on their mortgage payments. CHRIS believed the loan against his 401k was taken out approximately five (5) months ago" is another Chris lie to try to blame all the financial woes on Shanann. Even if you are married, a spouse cannot initiate a withdrawal from the owner of the 401K. After my divorce, even with a legal document awarding him a part of my 401K, he could not take the money out of my 401K before I completed a bunch of paperwork and initiated it with my 401K administrator. So this would have had to have been done by Chris, not Shanann, unless states are different, but considering the tax laws and penalties, I would think this standard across the U.S. Most likely we have some people on here with tax expertise or legal expertise that could say for sure what the regulations are.

Yes.That is the way it was when we took out money from my husband’s 401-k.I had to notarize that I agreed to the withdrawal.

That was a huge mistake. The taxes and early withdrawal penalty resulted in a 50% loss of the money we took out.

If in fact they were in financial straits, that may have been their only option. With a bankrupcty and the new stringent bank rules, I imagine they would not qualify for a loan

Generally, the truth is the polar opposite of whatever CW says.

I'm not giving the 6 week trip as a reason for him to kill her! I just think it's not good to be apart that long. I don't think many husbands would agree to this and Chris being so quiet most likely never said anything. It's sad to read a post saying he couldn't keep his hands off Shanann before she left and then during the 6 weeks he became armoured and distracted by Nicole at work.
It's not great to be apart, but he could have come down on a weekend or two. Grandkids need to get to know their grandparents, and kids need to see their parents. According to the video Shanann did about facial products, they took a trip every summer to NC. It is not optimal being apart for 5 weeks, but when you live halfway across the country from your family, you have to make sacrifices somewhere. What I would like to know is for how long Chris stayed in NC in all of the previous years.

I don’t like it, but I can see that these were her private thoughts. All of a sudden she was thrust into a reality where she was just like Amber Frey. We don’t know that she’ll write a book, but I can understand why she would be interested in learning about what became of a Amber Frey. She must have been in the state of shock when she realized she had been carriying on with a quadruple murderer. I sure would be.
What became of Amber Frey seems to me to be a very polite term for finding out how wealthy she became.

I would have been ok with her googling what ever happened to Amber Frey. Not Amber Frey book deal. Come on!

I do not think anyone is saying SW going away is the reason he killed his whole family.

I think that Chris was also guilty of being financially irresponsible. Here is was in August in deep financial duress but he was wining and dining NK, buying her jewelry, and planning vacations with NK while his family was in danger of losing their home.

The family that was not going to be around for long and the house that will be sold

I just typed Amber Frey into Google. It came up with a drop down menu and this included book. So it could have been that.

I think CW was the manipulator.
jmo
Your correct CW was a manipulator and he thought he was so smart, believing he would get away
with murdering his family. He lives in make believe world, unable to relate what is a normal.
He didn't want to play being husband and father any longer, so he decided a new relationship sounded better.
But in the end, prison with 5 life sentences, plenty of time to realize the horrific murder by his own hands.

Didn’t he fail the polygraphs? My understanding from interview with friends is she was not referring to just sex, but the constant, hugging , touching, holding hands. She referenced he would not even kiss her or touch her when he arrived in NC. I relate this to my husband, we have been married 30 years and he still slaps be on the rear end as I walk by, if those little affections stopped I would wonder why.

Amber did not know Scott Peterson was married, her story was always consistent and she fully cooperated with LE. MOO

I guess I still don’t see it puzzling that she wanted to stay longer to be with her fsmiky.

lol. He "became" armoured during sw's trip? And not before? So it was her fault he strayed, and then assassinated the family?

Maybe "manipulated" is not the right word. Chris was used to someone making the decisions for him, and doing things for him. His parents, and then, Shanann, who ran the family budget, and it seems, made the most decisions about the house, the kids, etc.

Actually, his affair and the need to do something about it was probably the first time the responsibility fell on Chris. And the only time Chris was trusted with own decision, he chose to annihilate his family.

Maybe there is a reason why no one, ever, delegated him with making own decision, why he was a pampered child? Why Shanann told him what to do and bossed him around, per coworkers? See what he did when left to own resources!

I hope they perform neurocognitive tests for CW.

(It seems they liked to Google in life-changing moments. Perhaps if CW merely Googled, "I don't love my wife. I am straddled with debts. I have an affair with another woman whom I think I love dearly and my wife does not know, but is starting to guess. I want to marry the other woman, but I have two kids, and third one on the way. On top of it, this woman is my coworker. What should I do?", and went with Google's advise?)
Great post, you definitely hit on the nail, Chris's thought process

Really? She was interested in Amber Frey's net worth!! I also understand it, but there's no reason to discount her actions. That would be doing what she did: discount and downplay her involvement with CW. MOO

Yeah except 'amber Frey book deal' is a bit of a specific search to let her have the benefit of doubt.
