She was careful. She said something to the effect of “right now.”

I don’t think we have the entire truck loading video. Recall what time he backed the truck in, and what time he pulled away. Longer than 3 minutes I believe.

It was more like 20-25 minutes between backing up to the garage and then leaving.

Does anyone remember the way SW mom described what she thought cw had done, re oil? I mean that first day, the 13th, she said she was afraid cw had killed them and what, covered them with oil? I cant remember the exact way she described it, just that i thought it was a weird thing for her to think of. ( not so strange the way it turned out, but why would she have visualized that?) .Yeah i know everyone is busy.....

For all we know, with him working in the oil business, maybe there were prior talks about his work and someone innocently eluded to how it would be a good place to dispose of a body.

They didn't need her consent. And maybe at first she thought they would not be interested in texts ABOUT CW from her to a friend. But she told her friend to delete texts between them. So clearly she was still trying to hide stuff from LE. Not a nice look.

I would not be talking about her though if her conduct in thwarting an investigation and being concerned about things as crass as book deals and net worth after babies were murdered, wasn't being minimized here.

Yes, but she can get on a friends FB page or Instagram. IDk, maybe because I know I would take advantage of social media to verify if my married boyfriend was telling me the truth I think others would too, especially since she had previously searched for Shan’ann.

I have deleted entire text chains too in moments of anger at someone when I decided I was "DONE." But.... their family wasn't missing or murdered....

Reading those cheesy cards from CW to NK, I just can see that in her head this was a valid relationship and he was into her. Even if he had a wife and wasn't divorced. Yeah, eye roll, and I don't agree with it, but I'm not shocked by affairs or people who get caught up in affairs. I don't doubt CW told her he was getting separated. And he didn't wear a wedding ring. And if he was cheating, I think she figured not her problem.

I don't think she sounds very likable. And she does have a non-feminine energy to her in how she talks which surprised me. I don't think she was involved, but she had nothing to lose by being fully forthcoming. And she wasn't. I just don't get that. You are in this situation, come clean. So what you had an affair. Who cares if you googled the wife. Or had sex in their bed. Or anything else. It might be low brow, but those aren't crimes. In trying to protect her image, she comes off as untruthful and like something to hide even if she didn't.

I don't understand why she was so snippy with the investigators. They came off to me as polite and direct, but not accusatory. It's like her inclination was to be defensive instead of helpful.

Question: is it customary to have a suspect sitting facing AWAY from the camera during an interrogation? I am surprised to see this in the snippets shown on the news of CW's confession. That is unfortunate. I would think this would be less valuable for the jury in the future.

I noticed her Dad got just a little bit tetchy when the questions veered towards whether NK was involved in any way. He objected to them " leading her". It must have just dawned on him that LE didn't really get her there to hear about her romance or sex life. He sounded as entitled as his daughter.

Not a cindy fan here, but i wonder if the distinction between peanuts and "tree nuts" is well known? Could cindy and daughter have thought that sw was pulling some intellectual trip on them? There are so many ppl these days who don't seem to trust science or scientists. To be honest I had to look "tree nuts" up when I first learned about the episode.

I'm sure Mother Watts knew the difference.
She chose to dismiss it, alongside SW's gluten allergy because she knew it would hurt SW.
Her aim was to invalidate Shanann at every turn because she bitterly resented Shanann and her ability to make everyone love her. I've navigated 3 mother-in-laws from hell. CW would be the ultimate MILFH, imo.

She is no shrinking violet. He has a type - not just physical. This woman strikes me as very outgoing, outspoken, talkative, and bossy/very assertive. And perhaps missing the empathy gene...but that is just MOO.

It's like he needs someone to be personality for both of them. And to make decisions and tell him how to act.

It's so weird how he really had no friends. People tried to say he did but in the end it's sort of clear he didn't.

Nick Thayer said they never talked about anything more than surface level. Guys at work who liked him asked him numerous times to hang out and he declined.

I can't wait to watch his videos.

Is it possible that they put up with this behavior because they wanted to keep her an enthusiastic witness for the prosecution? Because I cannot fathom any reason for the kid gloves and putting up with this nonsense otherwise. This is a multiple murder investigation! Think of how serious a cop is when you are stopped for a traffic infraction. I am dumbfounded at both her chutzpa and the kid gloves approach to her throughout.

CW certainly was NOT sick and tired of his wife's allegedly overbearing ways...he was just looking to replace her with someone more overbearing apparently...unless she played a role with him. MOO.

think its to keep her comfortable relaxed as possible to keep her talking fluidly.

I wonder if there is more video that hasn’t been released? This is a TON of information so maybe there’s another camera somewhere? IMO the videos of him just casually loading his truck and walking around are chilling. He had recently murdered his entire family!!!! I can’t even form a good thought to express my disgust. I know we speak of death often here and it’s easy to become immune to disturbing details over time but this just gets me in the gut.

Another instance is the assertion that Chris had genital “cancer,” discovered right after they were married in 2012. He’d be age 27. That’s pretty odd.

I believe there are a lot of answers about “why could this happen” in the Watts’ financial and medical records, which we are not privy to. Perhaps eventually they will come out, and there might be some shades of grey which will help people understand ways to prevent another tragedy like this from occurring.

My friend had testicular cancer at age 22. Apparently Lance Armstrong was 25. Wikipedia says the most common ages for men to get testicular cancer are 25-40. So getting it at 27 is not odd in the least. It's average.

To believe the second part of the comment I quoted, you would have to believe that good/decent people can be driven to murder a whole family including a pregnant woman and two very precious little preschoolers by financial and life stress. Most of us right here on this board have had financial crises of one type or another, or all kinds of other traumatic circumstances, and would never dream of harming anyone, let alone our own innocent children. Finances did not cripple Chris Watts and his Mother Dearest from feeling empathy or treating others with decency. Stop trying to deflect blame from where it belongs.

Oh yes. She was CRUCIAL. Besides NUA, she would've been the star. A reluctant one but the star for the prosecution nevertheless.

And I think they disliked her as much as most of us do.
