For me, the biggest red flags at the beginning of SW and CW's relationship were that CW reportedly relentlessly pursued SW via social media (I believe SW's account of how she met CW) although I think even all those years ago, SW's intuition was telling her to stay away from this guy. CW wore her down when she was at a weak point (newly divorced, in poor health, possibly suffering from low self esteem, etc.) which caused her to ignore her inner voice. And secondly, his own mother not attending their wedding because she "couldn't get along with Shan'ann". Big flashing red flags.

YES!!!! Mom and dad and sis not attending his wedding ?!?! WOW. That’s huge, knowing now how much it seems Ma and Pa Watts worship CW. That is some dysfunctional stuff and must have caused some deep wounds that CW may have buried deep and never truly dealt with.....MOO.

Does anyone know much about his adult years before meeting Shan’ann? Did he live at home with mommy and daddy until age 25ish??

And there is also history of CW's family not believing the conditions that the children and SW had.
And flat out making up conditions to project on Shanann.

Yes I really can imagine a grandmother saying or thinking she can just not eat that and learn that she can't always eat what everyone else is eating. And not believing that even being around peanuts without ingesting them could be dangerous. I'm not saying it's kind or how I would do things. But I don't feel ready to say she's a heartless murder accomplice for it.
The child was two years old.

See I actually imagined some older people in my family brushing things off with that by saying "she can learn from it" without having set out to make it a lesson for her.

But she was literally handing her the ice cream...what exactly would Cece have learned from that had SW not walked in and Cece had actually eaten the nuts...?

If you really talk to them you’ll discover it’s a deep seeded insecurity on their part. It’s really sick to think you’re any better than another woman because some a$$hole is playing the two of you against one another, and in the end you’re going to win something because he picked you.
That's no excuse. I have zero interest in talking to someone who stoops so low, just because their own inecurities. They will tear someone down, homewreck, instead of building themselves up.

Shanann had every right to be mad at MIL. She’s not blowing her daughter’s allergy out of proportion. Like I posted before, she wanted to let SW know who’s boss and piss her off. She was basically being a witch
Do you know for a fact that it was done to intentionally annoy (paraphrased!) her though?

Yes, Shan’ann had asked both her family and the Watts to have nut free homes while they were visiting. Cindy had ice cream with nuts it that she gave to all the children there except CeCe which caused her to be upset. Cindy had no alternative for Cece and told her it was a lesson that she did not get everything she wanted. There is a history of conflict between Cindy and Shan’ann.

People that play a power game with kids are extremely sick. It takes it to a whole new level when it’s a grandma doing it to a grandchild.

It is so serious the child could have died. It is my opinion that you never watch another person’s child without finding out first if there is anything that requires special attention. If you don’t adhere to what the mother tells you, you are irresponsible and not to be trusted.

I saw an interview with a roommate he had approximately 14-15 years ago while he was in school so he must have moved out at some point.

She sees her grandchildren once or twice a year. Per her request, Shan’ann had sent her a safe food list. Cindy could have played nice and made sure the 2 year old was not left out. She knew this would be an issue. I don’t understand a grandparent spending what little time they have with their riddler grandchild treating them that way.

I just think that's a leap that it was all malicious. It may be true I just don't think we can say that beyond doubt, Even if she didn't believe the kid had peanut allergies (and is it really not just me that knows a lot of people especially of older generations who are suspicious of all the "newer" diagnoses?) I don't think that means she expected or wanted harm to come to the girls? Tons of mother in laws believe their daughter in laws are blowing things out of proportion or being too fussy or worried about things without being actively instrumental in getting them and all the kids murdered?
If someone calls in advance of a visit to stress that their child has a deadly nut allergy, is reassured that they never have them in the house and then when they arrive there is large bowl of nuts out in the kitchen, then that is not just a thoughtless oversight. Compound that with then giving ice creams containing nuts to the other children present, in front of Celeste and Bella. When SW got upset she t old her that would just have to learn there were some things they couldn 't have.
That is just malicious.

Who is calling her a “murder accomplice?”

Nobody has said this. Commenting on Ma Watts' character and reflecting on her treatment of SW is somehow translating to her being a "murder accomplice."

I am sorry, but that does not come anywhere near 'annoying' behavior. That was dangerous behavior.

MOO, she has a history with Shanann. So yes I think so. Her hate for Shanann seems to have no limit

Yes. When I read about strangulation it was said that the victim will always thrash and kick their legs in an effort to break free and breath. Horrible.

I hate that I am even typing this but I hope that he strangled / smothered them all from behind so they couldn’t see who it was. Is that possible? I just hope they didn’t know who was harming them. :(

Half the world is filled with people like this. It’s up to each of us to make sure our own worlds don’t look like that, but when we come across others whose worlds do, do our best to help, even though they never listen.

Anytime this guy has to think, he lies. When he lies, he peppers his sentences with “likes.”

This makes my head head hurt.
Are you saying you don't LIKE it? :)

The child was two years old.

Once again I'm not saying it's kind or wise or what I would do. I know older people that give all kinds of advice on children that I think is bunk about not spoiling babies by picking them up too much or rubbing booze on their gums when they're teething. Idk maybe I have some extra crappy older family members.

I can agree they were pretty suspicious and down on Shanann, I just still feel sorry for them. I have seen it hinted here and there that they may have been plotting along with Chris and I don't think that follows (though I wouldn't say it's impossible because none of this case makes sense). I'm just saying I can see them having been the way they were without ever having wanted or anticipated the tragic end of it all.

.

Yes, they disliked Shan’ann, per Cindy’s own words, from the beginning of her dating Chris and made no effort at all to get along, they challenged her every opportunity they could.
