No these people think mean ole' SW killed her girls and then CW killed her because he was so overtaken with heartbreak and anger when she killed his precious children that he couldn't take it so killed her in response. Mean ole' SW made him do it. Mean ole' SW made him do everything. I guess mean ole' SW made him throw them in tanks too as well as to finally confessing to killing all 3 of them. Didn't you know Christopher is an innocent man who was ruined because he dared marry a wonderful woman like SW? Don't try to understand it. Murderers will always have fans and followers. Women will always put down other women. The world has gone mad.

Slow clapping over here.

It ain’t happening and every legal expert will tell you the same! @gitana1

Yeah. The CBI and FBI and local CO law enforcement have zero to do with his Wisconsin prison conditions. They'd have nothing to do with his prison conditions if he was housed in CO either.

Death penalty expert: Weld County DA made right choice in Chris Watts case
Rourke said he flew to North Carolina in October to speak with Shanann Watts' family after the defense approached him with a plea deal. Rourke said at the conference he was willing to negotiate the removal of the death penalty, but he would not drop any of the charges lodged against Watts.

DA discusses what comes next for Watts, families
Watts’ attorneys approached prosecutors first about the plea deal and that he did not accept until after speaking with Shanann’s family, the Rzuceks, in North Carolina beforehand.

At a certain point some aren't going to be convinced. Back then people were screaming that his defense was corrupt and coerced him to take the deal.

I think most of us knew what you meant!....no worries

Yes. We absolutely did. Straight forward and logical.

At sentencing:
Christopher Watts sentencing for murdering Frederick family
Watts’ parents, Ronnie and Cynthia, condemned the crimes and did not ask the judge for leniency in their son’s sentencing.

“We still don’t have the answers,” Ronnie Watts said in a statement read by his attorney, Jean Powers. “I hope one day, Christopher, you can help us.”

Cynthia Watts said she was still struggling to understand the “absolute horror” and will never recover from the trauma.

Yesterday's article:
Chris Watts, man who killed pregnant wife and daughters, provides new details on murders to investigators: Officials
Chris Watts' father, Ronnie Watts, said his son did not tell him the details about the conversation, but Ronnie Watts told ABC News Thursday, "In my heart I know he didn't kill those girls."

Ronnie Watts said his son calls him every night and "knows the Bible inside and out."

"It's over and done with," Ronnie Watts said of the case. "I am confused why they [the investigators] went out there in the first place."
Thanks so much, @PommyMommy ... I knew there was something with RW’s statements that felt like an about-face to me....

While I don't believe CW was painting with all the colors in his crayon box, it seems that the people who defend CW are under compensating for his intelligence. As someone else said, this is a man in his 30s. He had a good job-a job that takes at least an average amount of intelligence. To believe some of these theories about him being coerced or bullied by the DA (or his own counsel) one would have to believe that the man was spineless and lacked basic sense and intelligence. And while I wouldn't say that he's a candidate for MENSA, and his actions were certainly stupid, he's not altogether senseless. He was certainly capable of making up his own mind.

Yes. Very good point.

The interview happened on 2-18, I believe. They're releasing the contents on 3-7.

I don’t think it’s odd, and I think you’re right that RW doesn’t want more information. Dealing with reality is probably not a strong suit of this particular family, and in effect RW is saying he’d be more comfortable if he could please go on living in a fiction in which his son did not strangle / smother the life out of his little girls.
I agree; if I were one of his parents I picture being horrified to acknowledge even one more iota of his culpability. My point about the ‘oddness’ of his recent attitude is that it’s in direct contrast to his request of CW at sentencing 3 months ago to one day explain more about what happened...

I think anybody who has watched that video of CW coming home and meeting the police officer and SW friend, should be able to get a good inkling about what CW is all about. I know its probably been beat to death as I had checked out after CW guilty plea. But I just got the sense that the original responding officer was already thinking, Man this guy is full of **** and he knows where his wife and children are.
Agreed! When viewing all of those initial police body cam tapes, I was so impressed that the officers were able to act in a neutral way, even though the red flags were everywhere and the hinky meter must have simply exploded....CW couldn’t have looked/acted/responded more suspiciously if he’d been paid a million dollars to...

IIRC she has an alibi: An out of town friend who spent Sunday night with her at her house.

I recall that her couch-surfing buddy Jim was her alibi.

JMO, I don't think NK was involved in the murders, but I found it more than bizarre that she absolutely did not want investigators to talk to Jim. If I was in her shoes and my married boyfriend had just murdered his entire family, I'd probably bring my alibi with me to the interrogation.

No. I'm not aware of anything like that. The prison system is also a totally separate entity and they have an intricate system to determine where and how inmates are housed.

There are some other posters who can speak more about that - how it works.
Thank you!!!

Fellow mole-whacker here. It's like trying to empty the ocean with a spoon.

@Colorado303 your resilience is amazing. I don't know how you do it.

I know gitana1 has answered this but thought I'd put up a link for you.

"The Colorado Bureau of Investigation said Thursday that investigators from CBI, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Frederick Police Department met with Watts on Feb. 18 “for the purpose of developing further insight into the case.”
and
"The CBI says that an audio recording of the interview and a written report would be released next Thursday, March 7 via the Colorado Open Records Act for those who have requested the files"

Thank you for saying that. Honest answer is
1) SW was possibly the most encouraging, universally accepting, least judgmental person I’ve ever met. Ever. She was special. She genuinely appreciated everyone she met for who they were. Which makes it all the more distressing to see total strangers question her character. I’ve said it before, but she would never in a million years do that to someone and she’s not even here to defend herself. I can’t change what happened to her and her babies but I can damn sure try to do something so people understand the kind of person she really was. As much as the comments made bother me, they are way more heartbreaking to her family. They are good, generous and kind people and what little I can do to ease their pain is worth doing.

2). There are amazing people I’ve “met” here who care about truth and fairness, give me strength, let me vent, make me laugh so no matter how bad it gets I know I’m not alone in the fight. Comments like yours help more than you know.

Completely agree. Those police officers were as cool as cucumbers as they observed CW's very odd behavior. I certainly wouldn't want to play poker with any of them!

There have been serial killers who have requested that LE visit them so that they could give more details about their crimes and even direct them to where more bodies might be buried. Once a perp forms a bond with a particular person, it's not unusual for them to request a visit to share more info. I'm not saying that CW is a serial killer-just that his requesting LE and DA's appearance isn't unusual. Sometimes once they get locked up they just want to talk.

I’m guessing Mar 7 may include more about “It wasn't like an argument, but we had an emotional conversation. I'll leave it at that”.

—-

“Christopher Watts had started seeing another woman less than two months before he killed his family. Although the affair has been identified as a possible motive, Watts has refused to answer questions about why he strangled his wife, smothered his daughters and disposed of them in a Weld County oil field on Aug. 13.”

Yah unfortunately I feel like there will still be some kind of spin. People like him never reveal the entirety of there misdeeds unfortunately!
