It seems that CW brought a extra of set of work clothes, hours later arriving home wearing a gray work shirt.
Nickole Atkinson recorded him driving up, he rushes out of the work truck is met by LE and shakes hands. The
audacity of CW pretending to be concerned about his family.

Ugh. Although I did like NUA instinctively flicking and wiping her hand in disgust after coming into contact with CW's hand after she realized SW's phone was still in the house.

Of course they deserve the truth! No part of my statement says otherwise.

As of right now, we have no reason to believe CW is giving them the truth. "More insight" is very broad. Hopefully he is; I can't imagine what else he would be doing. I'm just surprised to see the original investigators involved, is all I'm saying.

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I think it's possible that he's finally told the truth. I am hopeful. Maybe because I want so bad for Shanann's family to have that. But also, there have been reports of his Bible reading since he was held in the Weld County Jail. This certainly wouldn't be the first time someone became spiritual and decided to come clean.

I only wish the statement bolded below wasn't quoted as "Sources close to the investigation." Boy, have we been burned by that one before!

Why now? Was he triggered by some key dates, he does have plenty of time to think things through. The following are a couple of key dates I thought of:
Baby Nico would be born now
Valentines Day has just been ( bet CW got a lot of fruitloop love letters and cards for that date)
The Thrive Punta Cana conference is this weekend ( not sure if they would have gone with a new bub but they had been before)

There aren’t good reasons to murder, but I atleast, want to understand his reasoning.

What was his thought process prior to the murders?

When did he decide to do this?

How exactly did he do it?

Most people who annihilate their families, end up committing suicide afterwards.

It’s rare that a killer like this is willing to sit down, and explain his rationale.

Ah I guess my bewilderment at the news of more details coming didn't translate the same between my mind and my text. I was at work, saw the headlines about investigators meeting with CW, and I was a bit stunned that there would be new details this quickly (i.e. a mere 4 months after conviction). As in, why on earth did this interview happen if CW has nothing more to gain. As in, what evidence does LE have that prompted them to speak with him again. Hope that makes sense this time...

Perhaps it is the cynic in me but I am skeptical that CW has suddenly developed a conscious and feels he needs a soul cleansing. Not this soon. I really hope that is the content of the interview and it seems to be the only logical explanation, though.

The babysitter is not speculation.
A babysitter, who was the sister of the birthday boy whose party Watts and the girls attended that Sunday, also spoke with an agent with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

She said that on Saturday Watts had asked her to watch the children while he attended a Rockies game, though it was later revealed that he was actually on a date with his mistress, Nichol Kessinger.

She had babysat for the girls the previous evening, when Watts had claimed to be attending a Colorado Rockies game.

I was answering pommy, regarding articles that say...sources say.....and i was noting that sources were saying that he would say why and how he killed them. It was just a flippant remark of mine, that how he would come out with "why" he killed them, as though there was a good reason why to murder anyone.

Why on earth did this interview happen?! Since when do state and federal investigators fly out of state to speak to an inmate...again...and AFTER a case has been closed?!

I can't imagine that they would spend tax dollars just to have CW repeat his originally story. I also can't imagine they would do this even if he was ready to admit he killed the girls. He could give any major news outlet that interview. The investigators have done their job at this point and do6nt care if he's ready to tell the truth, seeing as how he's already been convicted.

So that leaves....NK involvement??

These investigators put their lives on hold and become insanely invested in the outcome. I believe they would absolutely go back to speak with CW if he asked to speak with them. There would be no special bill to the taxpayer for that.

Okay, I've given it a lot of thought and I'd like to make some points and ask some questions.

In my experience. when multiple agencies get together it's usually something important and everyone wants a share of the credit. Here we have LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL! Why the FBI? He was not convicted of a Federal crime and he is not in a federal prison. Why the FBI? There was no kidnapping. Why the FBI? If CW is merely giving details of his crimes, why the FBI?

I believe someone. probably a guard, tipped the media off to the interview on the 18th. The media wanted info and were told; no! So, they filed a FOIA request to get the info released. It is being released on March 07th, and it has been stated the release is because of a FOIA request. How did someone know to file a FOIA request? If this is just CW clarifying and explaining things, why the secrecy?

DA Roark has said he didn't care what CW had to say, because he's a liar and can't be believed. What has changed?

Remember when the hearing date was changed and we all speculated as to what was up? It raised a lot of of questions and then . . . . .BAM! . . the plea deal was announced, with guilty on all nine counts! Is this something similar?

I've asked this question before. CW and Shanann moved to Colorado pretty quickly. She even sold her house with some furnishings inside. Did CW commit a crime in NC?

This may not be anything more than it appears to be; CW coming clean, but there are sure some interesting questions!

Nothing indicates that this was led by the DA as far as I can tell, right?

I'm wondering if he told LE that his mistress helped him with the murders? That might be the reason they won't release what he said until March 7th so they have time to get his mistress in custody....
He could have said alot in those 5 hours. He could have said a demon inside him told him to murder them or his mistress actually murdered them and he decided to take the blame for her. I'm willing to bet he is going to try and place blame on someone making him murder them. Maybe he said some witch involved with black magic put a spell on him to kill his family.....maybe a dog told him to kill them or even santa. No telling who or what he said but I just don't think I see him taking all of the blame because he won't want his father to see him as a real life devil. His father still doesn't believe his son killed the girls....he thinks it was SW. His father is just in denial.

What I think happened the night SW came home was this: CW had already murdered the girls and was just waiting to kill SW. I think when SW came home she was dead within minutes of walking in the house. I don't even think she got to see her girls that one last time. I think that girls were killed first before SW came home. I don't even think SW knew her girls were even killed. She wouldn't have known if she didn't see them when she walked into the house and she was killed by CW's hands. I would like to think SW didn't know they were dead when he was killing her.

Also I don't know how he would have been able to kill the 3 of them at one time. Wouldn't that take a huge amount of rage and calculation especially if he killed the girls when SW was in the house.

Something even with the way he disposed of the bodies as well. He place SW away from the kids and didn't even keep them all together but both kids were placed in tanks just not together.

What completely blows my mind is that CW seriously thought he would get away with killing his entire family and him and his mistress would live happily ever after. CW has to be one of the dumbest men ever.

I always leaned toward him killing the kids first. But since the video of her coming home was released she was not wearing the same clothes she was killed in.

I believe his account of strangling her while she was on the bed. But I think she was in the bed pinned by his legs and by being underneath the bedding.

I don't think she got into bed without checking on her kids and probably kissing them.

But I don't know for sure.

On the other hand though, these investigators from the, I believe it is three different entities, cannot be going out there to meet with CW, a convicted multiple-murderer, whenever CW gets the whim to relive his heinous acts and have some company in prison to chat with. In reality, the man has been convicted, he doesn't have a chance of ever getting out of prison, and nothing he says is going to change that outcome. Why would these investigators even give him the time of day, to make him feel important enough that when he felt like chatting, they would all just show up for him? Even if one of them showed up, that one could have simply reported to the others, but yet all three went out to him. He should get more play from perhaps writing to a newspaper or something.
I feel like there has got to be more to it, but jmo.
I was wondering if this could potentially have anything to do with the timing surrounding the bank foreclosure of the marital home - it was reported not that long ago that the bank was foreclosing on the home due to x number of missed payments. At some point the bank would have taken the home into their possession, changed the locks, etc. I'm not sure if the bank would then have a cleaning service come and empty it out and give it a good clean before selling, or whatever, but wondering if perhaps something or other could have been discovered and brought to the attention of LE, which perhaps could have prompted this interview with CW in prison? The home is to be auctioned in April I believe.
