I cannot get little Bella and CeCe out of my mind. I can’t imagine the fear they experienced. I have always wondered how mean he was to them while SW was on that last trip. The trip to NC showed how much feeling he had lost for his little family. I also believe little Bella was not quiet as the monster smothered her little sister. No one not even a child could ignore the violence going on. Those babies those poor innocent babies what they went through makes me cry every time I think about them. We have so many little angels that we must never forget.

I bet the ruzceks will always treasure those last 6 weeks where they were all together. God bless them and their angels in heaven. I have no doubt Shannan checks in with her mother.

Hi! I am a long time looker. I was wondering if maybe CW thought that he had to kill the girls at the site because he was worried about rigor mortis. Maybe that is why he immediately put CeCe in the tank before killing sweet Bella. He wanted to make sure they were still “warm” and able to slide in the tanks.


I hate even writing that but I’ve always wondered if that is why he killed them at the site rather than at home.

NUA and the local law enforcement. At the time NUA called them, SW had only missed an appointment. NUA had just seen her a few hours earlier. LE did not have to respond to her concern as quickly as they did. The fact that they jumped onto the story and reacted so quickly is a testament to them and to NUA who knew what to say to get them concerned and didn't back down when CW tried to get her to. When my 8-month pregnant diabetic sister disappeared with my toddler nephew, they made us wait 24 hours before they'd let us file a report-and this was even WITH my sister having an active restraining order on her husband. LE in SW's situation reacted in a way that isn't always common and, because of this, everything moved very quickly. Good for them.

Excellent points. Thanks for adding them to the list. I think throughout this case we have seen some of the most Impressive LE work I’ve ever seen.

A few threads back it was brought up that Chris said he had to talk NK off the ledge a couple of times
Where I come from this means she was on the verge of suicide. (Jumping off the ledge). I'm from northern Minnesota. Could she have been threatening suicide ?

He said she was crying with mascara running down her face when they were arguing. However the video of her going in the front door, she looks like she had been swimming or had taken a shower. Did not look like she had makeup on
Another thing that stuck out he said he had to change the sheet because her bowels released, yet she was wearing underwear when her body was recovered. Seems odd he would have put underwear on her
I hate to mention these things but he mentioned the odor in the truck. Does a body start smelling that soon ? I wondered if he killed her more around 2:30 and carried her outside then and the body was in the truck a few hours before taking off for cervi

I believe she did have makeup on. One of the pieces of evidence was a makeup stain on the pillowcase, and I believe they matched it with her makeup from her suitcase IIRC

I also don't think he had her body in the truck for a few hours because the neighbors cam shows what time he backed up the truck which was about 20 min before he left.

I am also confused about the bowels. Seems to be a bit messy. But perhaps he cleaned a little. And what.. He just left the sheet with her bowels in the house balled up on the floor or was that the sheet he took her in. Doesn't make sense. MOO

My opinion: NK wasn't even a lingering thought at this point. What did he just do? How am I going to deal with all this? Panicking … is where I believe his mind was at. Also, disassociation that any of it was real. NK....not at all.

was take pictures of the wild flowers out there that NK likes and sent it to her.

I disagree. I think she was always on his mind. After he buried his pregnant wife and dumped his children in an oil tank, he paused to take pictures of wildflowers for NK and to Google the song lyrics of a song she wanted. He also continued to text her and speak to her while there was supposedly a search going on for his "missing" family. I think he was obsessed with NK and she was always there at the edge of his mind.

I just had a very creepy thought. I wonder if CW blasted a Metallica CD the whole way there so he wouldn't have to hear Bella ask her brave questions. Perhaps that's when he heard BATTERY and thought the lyrics were poignant and it pumped him up further? Then when it was all over he looked up the words to see if what he thought he heard were the real lyrics?

That thought crossed my mind, too... . I listened to the song on YouTube and it's extremely loud and upsetting.... those poor girls...

about 1:40 in the tapes....he's complaining about getting crude oil on his clothes once in the past, and had a headache for 2 weeks...That's why he had extra clothes and boots...to change into in case he got dirty.

I wanted to go back and listen to that section (the audio was a bit rough thru all the tapes) because IIRC, he was starting to talk about how terrible/damaging it is to get crude oil on you (hence his extra set of clothes) when he abruptly trailed off mid-sentence; likely because he started to hear how heartless he must sound....he knew full well how damaging/caustic/terrible crude oil is to get on HIMself, yet still was willing to shove his own, sweet little girls into it.

IIRC, it was referencing a conversation he had with NK on the 4th of July. SW was mad; she had called him 10 or so times at home but he wasn't there. So CW told NK he had to drive home (from NK's place) to be there when SW called again. NK said something about playing second fiddle (!) and something else like "this isn't going to work out"....

I agree; I doubt there was a fight. I think he straddled her while she was asleep, and any crying/makeup stains on the pillow would've been caused by him strangling/shoving the side of her face into the pillow (this is supported by her autopsy details...)

ETA: I read the idea that he might have delayed to be sure rigor mortis hadn’t set in. Interesting and sad. I read this: Rigor mortis can take two to six hours to begin. “The onset of rigor mortis is affected by the individual's age, sex, physical condition, and muscular build. Rigor mortis may not be perceivable in many infant and child corpses due to their smaller muscle mass.” Not sure what CW would or wouldn’t have known.

And on this subject why did he change the children's bed sheets and tell his mistress they smelled which reiterates what Bella said about his truck when their poor mothers body was on the floor of the truck? Sorry to bring this up but it's an inconsistency and does not make sense?

His command of English is pretty sub-standard... He says "like" incessantly, liberally peppers his sentences with the phrase "kind of a thing", and used the phrase "ground control" to describe "damage control", etc. IMO, his use of language is so imprecise that saying he was "talking her off the ledge" can't be taken "precisely"....

In regard to the BBM, let me be crystal clear; I have NEVER wished anyone would commit suicide. You could not be more wrong.

Chiming in to say that although I sometimes see people express the sentiment that they want someone to get hurt or killed in prison, or to kill themselves, I don't. I think prisons should do their utmost to keep prisoners safe from one another and from themselves. I am not interested in anything more than the amount of justice that has been served, because nothing is going to bring back the people whose lives CW took.

I do not think he is truly remorseful, but he does have a lot of time to think about what happened and experience some kind of regret. Just because someone appears to cry doesn't mean it's real. He literally says he doesn't want to be judged or defined by these murders, which is ridiculously out of touch with basic decency. He has said he will take a long time to forgive himself.

Who could ever forgive themselves for killing their innocent spouse and little kids in cold blood? He makes it sound like a small or medium thing he will eventually get over. Horrible.

ive always had this lingering idea that chris was planning to put shannan in one tank and the girls in the other.

that's why he took the gasoline.....
then he was gunna blow up the site like he had some sort of epic accident working there.
(don't know how he would have explained him being far enough from it as it exploded to not harm him...but hey dealing with someone killing their family and doing this in the first place....)

shanann being pregnant, I believe had had a big bubby growth spurt that last few weeks and she was much bigger than chris fantastically remembered.
she wouldn't fit in the hole.
he had to improvise and shallow bury her. (I think he was always going back to put her in the tank and then follow through with explosion imo)

the big plan (explosion) ...was stuck in a holding pattern for a few weeks.

I have also thought the same thing.

And if CW was not planning on an explosion, I think he was going to put SW somewhere else.

I think what initially completely messed up his plan, was he he found out that his coworkers were on their way to the site.

That knowledge made him have to frantically figure out where to put SW. So he had to start digging a hole and he ran out of time.

Then the dominoes just started falling one by one...
