From what I remember, those were cadaver dogs. I wonder if maybe he took off the clothes he was wearing when he carried the girls to the tanks and threw then down there before he washed them. Or the sheets that were on the floor, or something like that. Imo
I thought he said he threw the clothes he wore to the burial site in a dumpster near the site on the way back to Frederick. Could have been the sheets

Even during the last confession interview of CW, he alleges he denied the affair to SW. Telling her he believed they were not compatible!

One of the first episodes of "Snapped" I ever watched, defendant testified that she'd rather have her husband physically assault her because she could fight back and defend herself. She went on to say that she had no defense against his lying, so she shot him.

Did CW think he was somehow sparing his soon to be dead wife by not telling her the truth? I still believe CW strangled SW when she was asleep and defenseless.

That's a good question, but I don't think he was sparing Shanann at all. I also think he strangled her when she was asleep, and I think it was much easier for him to murder her than it was for him to tell her to her face just what kind of person he really was.

It's that mask, IMO. He never wanted it to come off.

Absolutely agree that he strangled or got her in a chokehold while she was asleep . He may have 'spooned ' her and THEN manouvered himself on top of her from behind, but he is far too cowardly to pick a fight with her and do it face to face.

Sunday night, August 12th, at 21:28, SK received an incoming call from CW. The call lasted 111 minutes. The call ended at 23:19, around the time SW was originally supposed to arrived home but her flight from Phoenix was delayed.
Thank you.

I don't know for sure of course, it has to have something to do with being able to come and go at weird hours, I'd think. And not having times registered on the garage door records. But I can't imagine her walking down the street openly to his house. Neighbors notice stuff. But his walking down the street wouldn't seem too weird, I guess.
I think he parked it there because that was the car he used to come and go to NK's house . If he parked the Lexus in the garage SW would get garage door alerts on her phone all the time. I'm not sure how it all worked but maybe that was why SW was wanting the Vivent system fixed. Cw might have disabled parts so he could come and go.

Not sure about his clothes, but the sheet he wrapped Shanann in was found at Cervi 319 and the other sheet and I assume pillow cases, were later found by LE in a garbage can (I believe in the kitchen) at CW's house.

On the day Shanann and the girls went "missing", LE noticed the sheet and other bedding on the floor of the master bedroom, so CW later put them in the garbage can at his house.

No one can tell me this guy was completely normal or a great guy and then just snapped one minute and killed his whole family. It doesn't happen that way. He was a nut before and it was covered over.

I feel fairly certain that given 20/20 hindsight, if Shanann could speak to us, she could tell us that she saw some "oddities". But love and commitment can really make a person turn a blind eye or excuse certain behaviors.
Also, imo I believe CW is a psychopath and some of these "creatures" are truly masterful at deceit. They can trick a lot of good hearted, intelligent people.

I still think about him saying she was under the covers and he sat on top of the covers when they "talked". Makes me think that was the scenario when he got on top of her. Why else would he specify that? IMO

Yes, I'm sure that was the last time they talked, and the last words Shanann managed to say before he began to throttle her.

CW's speech is interesting - he intersperses lies with truth.

Others have speculated here that CW had SW's arms pinned beneath the covers so she couldn't claw at him and fight back as he strangled her.

I agree with that.

I think this too. She didn't want to share him and wanted him in his own apartment. Why didn't she suggest moving in together? Surely if you encourage the breakup of a family, you are confident enough in committing to the person...right? Perhaps she knew inside that she didn't want to be a stepmom. She wanted Chris, but not in a package deal.

I think she was beginning to realize this and yet her jealousy still demanded he divorce his wife despite a lack of willingness to commit on her end. She said she wanted him to focus on himself once he moved out into his own apartment. Sounds like she was getting ready to distance herself from him. Why? Unless she was lying about that too.

I think perhaps it had to do with the fact that from her side, it was an open relationship. She was dating other men but not too successfully, it seems. So divorced Chris would be a “rainy day option” for her, in case she did not find anyone more suitable.

I just found this case. It is a cut between Scott Peterson and Chris Watts, only an old one. Pretty interesting as this guy took a bigger risk and staged things better.

Charles Stuart (murderer) - Wikipedia

So it seems in all three cases of family annihilation, there is:

a) money involved
b) pregnancy involved
c) another woman involved

And I should probably start with another woman, as fear of pregnancy and financial considerations come with one thing, lack of love for the pregnant spouse.

Maybe the murderers are such immoral goats that predictable decrease in the frequency of sex during wives’ pregnancies drives them to immediately look for other partners.

So of course, the blame is on the guys, and Chris Watts overcame all of them. But it is understandable why we are upset with the female partners. Specifically. NK, because everything in this time is online, and we can see and read it. Amber Frey seemed to be unaware, but I wonder how many Amber Freys Scott P. had during Lacy’s pregnancy.

Interesting. I wonder how many times SW tried to call him while he was talking to NK?

I would think so! It's possible that some of the Colorado friends who thought they knew him may have never had an in-depth conversation with him. It seems Shanann was full of public praise for his wonderful virtues as a husband and father, so if he just sat there, kept a nice look on his face and didn't say much, people may have just filled in the blanks and figured he was a good guy.

The first we saw of him was his porch interviews and he acted anything but normal. Granted, he'd just murdered his entire family and did a bunch of hideous things with their bodies, but to get from normal to that? Impossible, IMO.

JMO, I think Shanann was so sold and so in love with the version of CW that he pretended to be when they first met and she was ill, she may have been unable to see anything else. Love can be blind, sadly, and I'm not sure she really noticed the shift that had apparently occurred somewhere along the way in which it was expected that she do the heavy lifting to make it happen for the family. He was pretty much along for the ride, IMO.

I don't think this was an open relationship.

NK believed that CW would abandon his pregnant wife and two little girls because she was somehow a better option.

NK has pride, she's narcissistic and would never have continued to date CW unless she was sure he'd leave his family in favor of her.

Her ego was at stake.

IMHO, jmo. moo.

Interesting. I wonder how many times SW tried to call him while he was talking to NK?

August 12th, at 21:28 - 23:19 - CW called NK that lasted 111 minutes.

During that time SW phone records show:

August 12th at 21:29 - SW made an unanswered call to CW

August 12th, at 21:44 - SW tells CW - “ Tried calling to give you an update. Was starting to board and they announced that our crew isn’t here yet and it’s going to be a minimum of an hour before they are here.”

August 12th, at 23:21 - CW finally replies - “ Holy Crap, sorry I passed out on the couch. That’s gonna be late.”

SW tried twice to contact CW during his conversation with NK.

...And he purposefully ignored her.

I always get a little weirded out by the catalysts that are assigned to murder - for me, it always comes down to life. The murderer wanted to snuff that life ouuuut. Pregnancy, affairs, money - that's all part of life for bazillions of people. There's something deeper - probably control of those things that is really the catalyst.

JMO, in the interrogation room, he ate that pizza like a wild animal. If he ate the pizza the Thayers served him like that, it would have likely added to their horror.
Exactly ! And CW texting them that he was "trying to remember to eat " - people say that after a week of trauma not 24hrs !! All part of him thinking those are the things he should be saying - the moron.

Mother Watts always cleaning up after him. Payed his traffic ticket. The 'Perfect Teen Ager' didn't even know about it. It's like like like he never ever even dared looked sideways at her.
Then she was Hellbent on pinning the blame on Shannan.
Makes one wonder what other skeletons are in the closet.
