Poor Shannan,..I keep wondering if she had a chance to stay alive if she would not been pregnant...If she only had two girls and have not been so vulnerable from pregnancy...Maybe, maybe she could be stronger and more confident [f not pregnant and decided to stay with girls in NC with her loving parents...Who knows if her fate was sealed when she got pregnant ( it was only a whim for CW - a third child - I want it - maybe it will make me feel different)...No consideration about his sick tired wife who already has two babies...This case is always in the back on my mind and keep thinking - what if, how situation could be different...

Probably, not.

You see, CW was afraid of her. She was the stronger of them two. She had more friends. He had a valid reason to believe that either way, the divorce would be costly. And the main thing, if he has it in him, such a type of thinking, that it is OK to remove a human “obstacle” on his way to new happiness, he’d still have it no matter what. Maybe having just one kid would have made a difference.

Well yes I’ve seen those. But she also has several where she expresses how fortunate she is to be able to be a stay at home mom. The kids were so little still, able to be at home with mom, and would have begun attending kindergarten soon enough. I’m perplexed as to why she would put them in an expensive preschool full time.
I hope no one misunderstands. It’s just an observation.

Pretty sure I know why. She wanted the best and nothing but the best for her girls. I fully understand her sentiment as I'm also a mom. As for high cost of the school, she was working her butts off to meet her financial needs. If she wasn't so viciously killed, she would have eventually succeded, no doubt.

So much about this case just doesn't make any sense. I want to be able to put all the pieces together and say, "Ah, ha! Now it makes sense!", but I know that in reality that is not going to happen.
But one of the things that just has me completely befuddled is...what do you think was CW's plan IF he had not gotten caught? What do you think was going to be his story for calling the girls' school that morning?
Do you think he was going to say that SW and him had discussed finances and divorce, and they agreed that he would call the school to disenroll the girls....and then SW just happened to take off with the girls that morning?

I was a stay st home mom and loved it. But I ended up putting my 2 toddlers in preschool
From 9 to 2, 4 days a week

They loved it. They could play and meet friends and learn while I did housework and made phone calls and bought groceries. It was the smartest thing I ever did for my sanity and theirs.

Yes. Plus, SW knew they had problems and while in PHX was singlemindedly focused on working through them. Before she got home that night she didn’t know he was having an affair, but the thought crossed her mind. IF he had confessed to the affair I genuinely don’t think she would have reacted by kicking him out. IMO she would have wanted to try to forgive him and understand so they could be strong again together. Which would have infuriated him even more.

However, I personally don’t believe he ever admitted he was having an affair. He is far too much of an emotional coward to have that conversation. Or any honest, hard conversation. Sticking to his original plan and just killing her was much, much easier.

In some of her videos SW talks about how happy she is now, working from home, so she can be home with the girls. Therefore, I was surprised when I realized that the girls were gone at preschool every day from approx 7:30am til 4-ish. ??? I also think that’s probably why they were sick so much. Kids in daycare and especially in elementary school seem to get sick frequently. Not bashing at all, but it seems to be contrary to what she was putting out there so much on SM.

The house does belong to both and a lawyer will advise that you cannot legally kick them out of the house. Technically, it's not allowed, but people do it anyway. I think this often happens when there's a light-bulb moment of clarity when the person realizes their spouse has been covertly abusing them and they have reason to be concerned it could escalate to domestic violence.

It's been established that domestic abuse can turn into domestic violence and a very good example of that happening is this case, IMO. He was having an affair and the abuse can be seen in the text message string between Shanann and a good friend of hers when Shanann was in NC. He shut her down completely, and he wouldn't talk to her. She was despondent and confused and she was trying to figure out what was going on with him. He was brutal and he was stealth about his secret life.

Not long after, CW committed the worst form of domestic violence possible. Murder. So that he could be with his AP.

I think Shanann was much stronger than him and he couldn't deal with it as much abusers cannot and that's why they're abusive... she tried to give her best to him and he was given the best things in life with those beautiful girls and blessed with a new baby on the way .. the devil got a hold of him and that devil being NK and together they will burn in hell..

I think he snapped. I don’t think this was premeditated, rather perhaps just a “fantasy” that floated around in his head for 5 weeks or so. I’m so troubled by this case still and do believe he is a monster for what happened.

I think he felt emasculated by SW, and in a lot of videos she was very dismissive and snarky towards him. This is in no way victim bashing. What happened should never have happened. But one of the reasons we keep coming back here is to try to understand why.

I think NK made CW feel important, finally. Considered, respected, desired. His confidence took a massive upswing and he became embolden. When SW came home that morning, I think everything just exploded inside him.

I can’t even begin to understand how this ever could have blurred over to the girls. It’s horrifying.

in the interview of February 18 released on March 7, Chris Watts said he did NOT feel like Shan'ann belittled him. I'm curious how you could claim to know more about their relationship than he did?

Why would the childcare choices of a couple perplex you? What difference does it make? Where did you get your information that SHE put children in daycare, and how do you know the comparative pricing of the available childcare and schools? Do you think educating and socializing young kids is a bad idea, when both parents work full time? Do you think he murdered her because he didn't want his kids in preschool, so therefore murdered them too?

People are referring to CW statements of her salary as fact. I don’t think we can trust a word he says.
I’m just asking if we have any other source. This is because folks were saying she made so much more money than CW salary, for which we have his income statements from Andarko (artifact)

I know she is a murder victim, is discussion of evidence of her salary against TOS?

If you have time to start at the very beginning thread and work your way forward, you will find documented information regarding SW's income. Actually, you will discover quite a few things that may help answer your questions (please see links below).

For those of us that have been here since the beginning, SW's income does not even have bearing on her senseless murder (or that of her children's). It really, IMHO, does not matter at this point.

No. I’m not bashing SW at all. I’m sorry if it comes across that way. A few things just seem inconsistent to me. No I don’t think preschool made Cece allergic to tree nuts. This case is tragic and I think Chris Watts is a monster. Shan’ann, Bella,Cece and Nico were innocent victims, and totally helpless against his attacks. Just trying to understand how such a seemingly loving husband and father could do such a thing, it’s frightening, and what if anything contributed to his actions besides the obvious... his sudden desire for a new unencumbered life. (Divorce would be worse??)
