Going back to his interviews, I was certainly struck, too, how "cavalier" he was, including that obviously inappropriate laughter in the middle of it.
Curious, I looked up psychopaths and, in a nutshell:
1 - Inability to feel any empathy.
2 - Manipulative, often can gain trust of others quite easily.
3 - Often come across as charming, articulate, simply because they learn to mimic emotions. So they watch and learn.
4 - They are utterly remorseless because they simply don't care.
Because of the above four points, they often are educated or have steady jobs and relationships.
They view their victims simply as objects (no empathy).
So what is the motivation to kill? Sometimes it's sexual in nature and sometimes it's for their amusement. Sometimes we have will never no why.
They sound like about the sickest people I can imagine and, again, if you watch the interview he gave, he came across very relaxed, remorseless and definitely manipulative since we know now he was clearly lying.
Wretched human being if you can even call him that.
There's an additional screenshot under the comments on that photo that's really strange too. JMO
Longmont is 80501. I lived there.
This reminds me ENTIRELY of the Phillip Austin case. I only recently watched an episode of Killer in the Family chronicling his crimes.
Phillip Austin - Wikipedia
Something keeps lingering in my head as this seems to be slowly coming together.
His words:
" It wasn't an argument it was an emotional conversation. I'll leave it at that."
So he has confessed. He was lying.
Why on earth would you plant the seed in investigators minds that you had some kind of disagreement with your family who is dead at your hands.
He could have said he woke up, she was sleeping, he went to work, period.
What was he playing at here? Did he slip up because they obviously did fight?
Or was he trying to throw out the idea that she was emotionally upset and ran off with the girls? It seems like a major slip up to me, not thought out, jmo.
I just don't get it but thank God I'm not a killer so why would I. Any thoughts?
Yes, the records are often sealed and for a number of reasons - such as the defendant is under threat, the defendent is actively assisting law enforcement, or there are witnesses that may not come forward if the records remain in public view. I'm not saying this is the case here at all, but if there is a sex offense against a child they are almost always sealed, but my guess is it is to get him to further open up or get another witness to talk. They put seals on cases or gag orders, but over time and especially during the proceedings, things come out. I am sure they are still heavily investigating and will be for a long time, so its wise to seal the case in my opinion. (although I want to know now). However, if you wait, and are willing to follow sometimes for a year or more, you will get the answers. IMHO
Yes he pretty much hung himself with that one statement. Scary odd!Something keeps lingering in my head as this seems to be slowly coming together.

I did some further digging into the arrest records the Daily Mail referenced. The arrest records in NC for Shannon Watts that were publically available without going through FOIA was someone with the same legal name but the date of birth was off by six years, so not this Shannon. There were some records for a Chris Watts but without a DOB for him it could be anyone. It never says!
