I notice innocent Barry had nothing to say about his wife being found and his name finally cleared

I can only imagine the fear in the witnesses at this moment.
She won't dump him until his money is gone.

One of my questions is how much over his original retainer he has gone (I believe he spent that retainer plus some in all these legal maneuvers - and from his point of view, today, it truly paid off). But I don't think he spent a mere $500,000. At least $700,000. But even if the lawyers did all this work for a measly $500,000, my question is whether he will keep them on a retainer (probably not).

So, if charges are refiled, he'll have to fork over another $500,000 to go through another set of pre-trial motions. And it will cost more than this time did (another change of venue motion, more motions to dismiss evidence, a different AA for the re-arrest to read, etc).

And that refiling can be done at any point in his life, by any future DA of Chaffee County. New evidence is almost certain to appear, as it usually does in these cases. A new judge will look at the new arrest affadavit and make a ruling, and none of us knows how much "new information" would be needed to refile. I have a hunch that there are facts that haven't yet been placed into play, in this case, which will come in handy for a future prosecutor, if that prosecutor is eager and organized.
One can only hope she (IE) will get met by two shady guys to collect what is owed to her for services rendered. moo

I do so hope that Suzanne's body has been found. What a miracle that would be, imo.

Seriously. What else could've happened to Suzanne? She's not in Ecuador. She's not with JL.

She just evaporated?

If she evaporated, it wasn't IMO without the aid of landscaping chemicals.

I honestly see two skipping happy girlies and a man hanging his head low looking troubled.

Yeah he's def not floating on air. Probably thinking about if they know where she is or if they are bluffing. He's free to move now. My guess is he leaves the country and goes somewhere with no extradition if he can afford it.

Should Barry be doing an interview about how he is so hoping SM will finally be found?
... beginning with "Oh, Suzanne"? Yes, I want to hear. :p

Can you imagine if Suzanne’s body is actually found? Will Barry and his girls actually have a press conference saying how happy they are that she can receive a decent burial and Rest In Peace? Will they ask DA Stanley to find the murderer?
I mean, they all act as if she went on a vacation and is returning soon. How will Mallory and Macy react a body being found? Did a mountain lion hide it intact? Did an abductor bother to dig a grave?

Case update- Morphew Trial - Chaffee County Sheriff

SALIDA, COLO – On Tuesday, April 19th, Linda Stanley, District Attorney for the 11th Judicial District, filed a motion to dismiss the pending charges against Barry Lee Morphew, including the First Degree Murder of Suzanne Morphew. The motion is a request to dismiss all charges without prejudice, which allows for the opportunity to refile charges against Mr. Morphew in the future. On the District Attorney’s motion, Fremont County District Judge Ramsey Lama dismissed the current case without prejudice. The Morphew trial will not proceed as scheduled for April 28, 2022, but future prosecution may be pursued pending further investigation.

The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office acknowledges the decision of Judge Lama to dismiss the pending charges in the Morphew case. Sheriff John Spezze responded, “As an on-going, active investigation, we will not share additional information at this time. The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office maintains its commitment to this case and will continue to work tirelessly to find the body of Suzanne Morphew. While we are disappointed in the delay of the proceedings, we remain unwavering in our commitment to this investigation and the ultimate prosecution of Mr. Morphew. I stand behind the strong work of the investigators within the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office and the many law enforcement agencies involved and the strong case we have built. Above all else, we remain dedicated to seeking justice for Suzanne and her family.”

The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office will not address questions or issue additional comment on the Morphew case dismissal at this time. The Sheriff’s Office will issue updates as relevant.

Ok, Spezze knows Barry is guilty. We all do.

I agree. Not only found, but found with physical evidence pointing directly at Barry.

Remind me did LE recover the swimsuit she was wearing that day? I can't recall the details.

Interesting quote here - “unwavering in our commitment to the prosecution of Barry Morphew” !

Apologies if this line of thinking has already been posted. LE thinks they are close to finding the body but it’s buried under 5ft of snow.

So a potential body is under 5ft of snow on April 19, 2022.

SM was murdered May 12th (or 11th) 2020.

So wouldn’t it stand to reason that in May 2020 this same location would be under a substantial amount of snow?
