The Prosecution said that “ for some time a single location has been the target of on going investigation. “
I believe they must have very credible leads to make them want to search there.
They need to rule it out and keep searching if nothing is found there.

Thanks, I’m still skeptical. If this location has been a target for some time, why wait till today to bring it up?

I honestly see two skipping happy girlies and a man hanging his head low looking troubled.

Agree, but I also saw an Iris following behind them, not needed for the time being so temporarily forgotten and discarded - moo

IMO he won't move away.

He's married to those mountains.

He will, however, (and also IMO) have an escape plan.

Whiff of the next arrest, he'll pull a white Ford Bronco.

If the area LE is searching is indeed where he buried her I don't think we will see him stick around. After his total unabashed charade of innocence, how could he possibly save face with the girls. I could be wrong, but I don't think he is brazen enough to stay in the area and wait out the results of testing if they find her body. And I do feel optimistic about the body.
On one of the video's I saw a look go across his face briefly after his big hug and kiss with the
IE ( did he whisper to her "You are Suzannne to me" like he did to Holly?)
When he opened the door and got in to his truck - he looked... apprehensive.

Concerning the snowpack at high elevations. It is completely plausible that on May 9 2020 there was not much snow at 10500 elevation and April 19 2022 there is five feet of snow covering a certain area. In three weeks, that area may have no snow in certain areas (southern exposure/open areas) and some areas with a few feet of snowpack.
After letting this dismissal sink in, I am hopeful they do have a good lead on her remains.

I also am probably too hard on Agent Grusing and the investigation team. I think they did a good job with what they were given, just sometimes question why things seemed so friendly with this murderer. Barry planned this and did an excellent job of controlling physical evidence and concealing Suzannes body.

I am really hoping that the ending to this story is the discovery of Suzannes remains with more than enough evidence linking her murder to Barry Morphew.

Omg BM says “ the killer is still out there “
Hasn’t his defense been insisting that there’s no proof she is deceased?

Off topic but I just watched a clip of a reporter talking to a young woman outside the courthouse in the J. Depp trial.
She had 2 very cute LIVE LLAMAS on a leash and said she brought them in hopes that JD might see them and they cheer him up. Lol
Made me think of our Zookeeper @Kemug !

Speaking of zoo.. after IE’s parking lot performance today..
Do we have a B_T_H in the zoo?

Yeah, BM the killer is still out there. He got in his King Ranch Truck and drove away from the courthouse today without his seatbelt on.

Idk maybe didn’t want to tip their hand ?
Until they realized they could not present their case entirely due to all the evidence and experts being disallowed.

Yep, the defense did say that. But BM also alluded to her death — “Maybe in God's eyes this was his way of resolving something.”

Immaculate deception.

Chaffee County Sheriff's Office
pnso2a982c9h9h51h083 ·

SALIDA, COLO - On Tuesday, April 19th, Linda Stanley, District Attorney for the 11th Judicial District, filed a motion to dismiss the pending charges against Barry Lee Morphew, including the First Degree Murder of Suzanne Morphew. The motion is a request to dismiss all charges without prejudice, which allows for the opportunity to refile charges against Mr. Morphew in the future. On the District Attorney’s motion, Fremont County District Judge Ramsey Lama dismissed the current case without prejudice. The Morphew trial will not proceed as scheduled for April 28, 2022, but future prosecution may be pursued pending further investigation.
The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office acknowledges the decision of Judge Lama to dismiss the pending charges in the Morphew case. Sheriff John Spezze responded, "As an on-going, active investigation, we will not share additional information at this time. The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office maintains its commitment to this case and will continue to work tirelessly to find the body of Suzanne Morphew. While we are disappointed in the delay of the proceedings, we remain unwavering in our commitment to this investigation and the ultimate prosecution of Mr. Morphew. I stand behind the strong work of the investigators within the Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office and the many law enforcement agencies involved and the strong case we have built. Above all else, we remain dedicated to seeking justice for Suzanne and her family.”
The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office will not address questions or issue additional comment on the Morphew case dismissal at this time. The Sheriff’s Office will issue updates as relevant.

If Suzanne is dead, I really hope they did find her. She deserves that and BM deserves to know he didn’t commit the perfect crime.

This request for dismissal by prosecutors was filed only because they were backed into a corner by the judge, resulting in justice delayed for Suzanne. I don’t care if they put their reasoning into a motion and typed it up. It doesn’t make it true.

BBM That is much more likely.

Here is a great map of current snowfall totals on the ground real time updated hourly. If we figure how much time he actually had (don't have that off the top of my head) and then look at this map and distance from his house, we could narrow down the where. Snow starts falling in higher elevations in September in Colorado. The PH was in August. I am wondering if leads were stirred up after the PH when snow was already falling in the area. If they don't have a clear ground before they start searching, they risk losing evidence if they dig through snow. I think the wording was so specific, I believe it. They could have said it's snow covered.. they said covered by 5 feet of snow. That is pretty specific. Look at this map and see what you think!

Thanks. I deleted my comments after seeing your posts.
I'm pretty sure she's right about re-trying the case. If the body's found and they get the complex evidence organized, I believe Lama's past rulings will not constrain the future proceedings.

Here's what Sheriff Spezze had to say:

"The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office acknowledges the decision of Judge Lama to dismiss the pending charges in the Morphew case. Sheriff John Spezze responded, 'As an on-going, active investigation, we will not share additional information at this time. The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office maintains its commitment to this case and will continue to work tirelessly to find the body of Suzanne Morphew. Above all else, we remain dedicated to seeking justice for Suzanne and her family.'

The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office will not address questions or issue additional comment on the Morphew case dismissal at this time. The Sheriff’s Office will issue updates as relevant."

One last comment before I rest for a while.

I believe it would be helpful if a special prosecutor were appointed to support the investigation, make the decision to file, and prosecute the case. DA Stanley's handling of the past proceedings should not taint a future prosecution IMO.
