Guilt requires a conscience and I think ole' BM is sorely lacking in that department.![]()
Agree, feel he's lacking in many areas - jmo

In no way disagreeing, however, how has it been determined that “he’s cheap”? Just a question. TIA
He said so. One example: He was trying to get a free breakfast at the hotel in Broomfield by trying to slip in the back door when someone was leaving.![]()

Agreed, greed. Tightwads, cheap wads live below their means…no way was he that!Could be that the financial issues were really pressing. Because if BM is such a tightwad, how on earth did they get into such difficulties.
The sister of Suzanne Morphew, the Colorado mom who went missing last Mother's Day, says financial issues may have caused tension between her and her husband, Barry Morphew, who is now charged with murder.
"Financial pressure bears in on people very heavily. It creates an atmosphere of discontent and strife and sometimes living beyond your means is a very hard thing to do"
"Learning to be content with what you have is a very powerful thing in this life, and it brings great peace, and I don’t think Barry and Suzanne had gotten there yet"
Suzanne Morphew's alleged murder may have been motivated by money, relative says
Perplexed about that one…boots can be reheeled (cobblers), I believe he kept laces as a momento. Thanks for your input. He explained to LE that he is cheap, that is why he discarded his boots but kept the laces.
He said the boots had holes in them -- that sounds like the uppers were worn, not the soles (which can be redone as you mention) MOOPerplexed about that one…boots can be reheeled (cobblers), I believe he kept laces as a momento. Thanks for your input.
Oh, yeah! How did I forget that one?
Haha, right! Eye roll!! Thanks for that…who does that? Just weird! Also shows his character—big fail. Who would share that information, oh Lordy! Not likely the reason to skip through the backdoor tho…I must have missed it. Thanks.
As a good bit of my career has been in construction, I’ll speak to it…steel toe boots don’t blow out. They’re sturdy. As for hunting boots, winter boots, manly boots…he didn’t buy cheap boots. He pitched the boots because they were involved in the crime. He liked to look the part, no way did he wear crappy, cheap boots IMO.He said the boots had holes in them -- that sounds like the uppers were worn, not the soles (which can be redone as you mention) MOO
Haha, your poor mother. Those few characters of the kind you speak, extra salt and pepper, even a TP roll, I consider harmless. He dumped something.I have relatives who are just that cheap (or used to be). But what I can't wrap my. head around is that Barry is concerned about a free breakfast on the morning after he murders/disappears his wife.
I don't think any of my relatives are quite that callous. But they do swoop down on buffets and take a bunch of creamer and jam packets (much to the horror of my late mother).
Hmmm, Rob from Peter to pay Paul, shuffle the resources from one job to the other, a shell game. So common in construction. Also, installing the cheapest possible cinder blocks at the Broomfield job in the first place - when the job was finally completed by another company. (to CO's standards), the cinder blocks were the usual, high end blocks that most states expect at their roadside retainer walls.
Also, paying people under the table/as subcontractors.
For whatever reason, he was reduced to trading "landscaping" for a brief stay at the Tradewinds. And if you've seen the picture of his truck as it left Indiana - he clearly needed to rent a trailer. But didn't.

I remember the first time I read about this case.Could be that the financial issues were really pressing. Because if BM is such a tightwad, how on earth did they get into such difficulties.

Thanks for pointing this out. I have been in commercial/residential…never government. I realize it works differently…wasn’t thinking in terms of municipalities. Thanks for correction. It’s a different beast. As someone who worked construction of similar type projects for 28+ years NO, it doesn't work like that, especially for municipal work. The materials used are approved ahead of time. The contactor doesn't just use what he wants...the cheapest brick/rock etc. There are standards. Frankly I would be surprised if Barry was ever paid for the first job, ( That shoddy wall )shocked from my experiences actually.
Not a tight wad, but he does cheat a lot. Cheating on providing substandard materials to a job while charging for quality material isn't being a tighwad, it's just theft.Hmmm, Rob from Peter to pay Paul, shuffle the resources from one job to the other, a shell game. So common in construction.

Nice catch on HOA dumpster. And agree he spends spends spends….won’t go into the other purchases….mute point. Not a tight wad, but he does cheat a lot. Cheating on providing substandard materials to a job while charging for quality material isn't being a tighwad, it's just theft.
He never denied himself a gun, a canned hunting trip, a vacation (Turks and Cacos), a new Ford 350, etc. BM spends on himself and whatever he wants.
"I am a tightwad" is just a lie, to explain going to 6 trashes.
His HOA has a dumpster for their use, its included in the fees.
In the PH it was reported that the helmet was found about a 1/2 mile west of the US50/225 intersection on the south, (eastbound), side of US50. Originally this surprised me because AM in his PE interview stated that the helmet, which was found on Thursday, 5/14/20, was located about 20 yards off the trail where he was searching on 5/12/20 and he could not understand how he and his search team had missed it. He also mentioned that one of his team members who was a friend of BM had wandered off while they were searching and they had backtracked to try to find him. Eventually he showed up at the house where they were staying. AM found the whole thing very strange.
I had originally thought that AM was searching a trail on the north side of 50 because he would refer to “up the mountain”. My mistake because US50 west could also be referred to as up the mountain as the road rose up to Monarch Pass.
I went back to look at the map and realized that AM was probably searching along CR226 which parallels 50 and meets 225 right near where the bike was found. I did some rudimentary measurements on google maps to try and get a rough estimate of where the helmet was located, where BM May have pulled over to toss the helmet, and where AM was searching on Tuesday. I’m attaching a couple of maps showing this area.
The defense stated that no tire impressions were found that matched BM’s truck on 50 near the helmet. By my calculations, CR226 is about 200 feet off of US50 in that area. Would it be possible for BM to drive down 226 instead instead of 50 where there would be very little traffic in the early morning hours? He could toss the helmet right up towards 50 from that area.
