From what I have read, the ankle bracelet will alert authorities if BM leaves Chaffee County ... so I would imagine that if there is a reason that he must leave the county, his attorneys will have to get him special and specific permission to do so.

The ruling stipulates that Barry must attend every hearing, wear an ankle monitor that alerts authorities if he leaves Chaffee County, and relinquish his passport and firearms.
Judge Rules That Missing Colorado Woman Case Will Go to Trial
I think his lawyers will milk the system for all its worth to expand his privileges...include where he is allowed to live. I wouldn't be surprised if he were allowed to leave the state until trial.....with legal extradition included, of course. Thinking about him staying with siblings in Indiana or his mother, where ever she lives. I just don't think he will stay with either of his daughters....he would risk losing their support.

I am curious as to why the state did not bring up Barry removing the trail cams when he was supposedly looking for MM1’s turkey, early on May 9. This, to me, was a strong component for premeditation. Did the state feel that the defense could have picked that detail apart, so they did not introduce it during the PH?

I hope Barry has a very difficult year ahead. I’m guessing he is essentially out of business, and will not be able to work for himself until he gets the proper insurance again-not that it hasn’t stopped him before. His beloved bobcat will have to be brought back from Indiana, but not by him because of the travel restriction. Who will hire Barry? Between the lawyers and bond and not working, he may blow through a ton of money. Suzanne isn’t here to spend it, and her heirs seem to be okay with Barry having it. I’d be fine with penniless Barry.
and there's the matter of that federal business loan.....Wonder if that may pose some complications?

The judge has already granted bail .I do not think he will want to be seen to give into more requests from the defence. I think the Judge will stick to his guns and say BM must reside in Chaffe county.

Every case I've ever followed, has at least someone, or several someones, that simply cannot accept the person they know/love, is capable of the thing they're charged with. I can completely understand that. I've had the unfortunate experience of knowing someone who did the unthinkable (not murder, thankfully) contrary to literally everyone's opinion that such person "could never, would never!" do such a thing. And yet, they did. Stuff happens. People do vile things sometimes and it's dang hard to accept that the person they thought they knew was indeed capable of doing the worst thing.

In such a case like this, I can only assume those still supporting Barry genuinely believe someone else, in some way, disappeared Suzanne. It really does take some serious logic juggling to explain away the burned journal in the fireplace, the Broomfield alibi, the staged bike, the trail cams being turned off the same afternoon Suzanne was last heard from, and the loads of other evidence.

jmo
There is an alternative perspective about how the families accept these things....I think in many cases, they know the person is capable of doing horrible things....and they are willing to "tolerate" those horrible things anyway. They weigh the pros and cons from their family's side of it...and may decide "yes....he's an SOB, but he's our SOB"...and blood is thicker than water. They do not have to share the same level of grief in many cases as others. Take Barry's mother for example....she is not grieving as AM is grieving.....in fact, she made a point to let it be known that Suzanne was "cheating".....and accused LS of ruining their family. All the while, I have no doubt that deep inside,, Barry's mom knows he is guilty....but she can rationalize that losing him won't bring Suzanne back...so she is better off with him. Being in criminal justice, and having been a parole officer in the past...I have seen families who "tolerate" an enormous amount of character flaws, and will defend that individual till the bitter end.

No. I think he is still within the repayment terms. Personally I think there is no federal interests in this case that would be pursued at this point.

If someone with standing as Suzanne's closest kin after Barry (IOW MM1 or MM2) would challenge it, I think the conservatorship would be revoked. But, MM1 signed off on the conservatorship in Indiana and shows no signs of attempting to revoke it.

So it stands. In a different family system, of course the victim's survivors would have already filed to revoke.

I don't think he's truly worth $3 unless the sale of his landscaping business in Indiana actually resulted in some cash - and I'm not sure that it did. But he does have about $2.2M that we know about from selling off real estate.

But my big question is: if the ankle tracker doesn't have "GPS tracking," and only goes off if Barry hits a boundary of Chaffee County, what then? How can they find him?

Surely it does transmit GPS information to a monitoring system somewhere - surely this just means that there's no one sitting there monitoring it? Does anyone know more about these things work? If Barry were to remove it, what would they know about where he was when he removed it? If he does it near a boundary to Chaffee County, he'll be long gone before they can even figure out where he is (it would help if he had an accomplice to quickly move him to a different area of Chaffee County and then out of Chaffee County).

It wouldn't be surprising if some of Barry's money is in a non-US based bank...
Sadly....I think MM1 would challenge any move by AM to remove guardianship. If you recall, she signed off on the guardianship maneuver in Indiana. I am afraid that the only thing to come out of that would be a dispute; and furthr alienation between the two families. Very unfortunate scenario all the way around.

I am very angry with the prosecution. First degree murder was a terrible decision. Murder in the second degree would have had a much higher chance of success. ‘Ambition o’er leaps itself and lands on the other side’ (Shakespeare)
M2 isn't off the table just yet....

I agree. I am of the opinion that he has already put her “in charge” of finances behind the scenes. It is my opinion that yesterday when she left court on Friday afternoon she was heading out to put the wheels in motion for the bond. And I agree that any action will further divide the Moorman family.

Curve on 225 out of neighborhood where bike was staged. Best guesstimate about where black dot is.

I think the very act of turning those cameras OFF, just hours before Suzanne's last contact with anyone, ever, is pretty damning and points directly to premeditation. I know we discussed it at the time he was reported to have been looking for some mythical turkey that MM shot (sure he was, and I'm Mary Poppins, y'all) that he might of been doing exactly that and BAM! that is indeed what he was doing.

BAM! Bam! bam!

Yes, this should have been made way more prominent at the PH. It sure will be at the trial, I would assume. It is huge!!!

So the next time BM appears in court is for a hearing on his motions (1) for sanctions against the People for discovery violations and (2) to prevent the jury from hearing some evidence. Does anyone have thoughts on what they want suppressed, and why?
I’m guessing the defense wants dismissed things related to Barry’s behavior, past actions, that are unflattering to him. Cheating, shady business dealings, physical altercations, fraud; things that show what a truly despicable person Barry is, but are not directly related to his murder of Suzanne.
