I mean, if you're gonna stage a bike wreck, go the extra mile and actually wreck the bike. Wear a helmet, or don't. Not a big deal if an abusive wife-killer cracks his skull open on a rock.
Depends on what Barry was trying to project with the bike ruse... that either the bike was "wrecked" by Suzanne (by lion attack or her inexperience), who then ended up washed away in the river's current...Or that the bike was "ditched" by her abductor. I don't know which version Barry was trying to sell, based upon the bike's positioning when found. He didn't really commit to one scenario over the other with his ghost riding method of push over the edge...or so it seems.

What weighs heavy on my mind is we are basing all our assumptions on what was in the arrest warrant or learned from the preliminary of what we've been exposed to in social media. We have seen snippets of texts, we have read snippets of conversation that various LE personnel had with Barry. We, unlike the defense or the prosecution, have not read the bulk of the discovery. We also have surmised alot about SD but nothing so far that is connected that we know of to the case...if the connection is made in my opinion it muddies the idea that no one but Barry had motive.
BBBM
“Wait, wut?” As my teenager would say lol

I am reading your post and wondering if you are asserting that in your opinion, if the connection is made , that SD may also have had motive to kill SM ?
Are you suggesting, if a connection is made, that SD had set her sights on BM before they met and then SD decided to eliminate her competition ?
Or maybe that BM was less than truthful indicating when he and SD met and he and SD have been running around before he murdered SM?

IMO even if I assume that SD was BM's "paramour" before the murder, I don't understand how this "muddies" the water for the prosecution.

I do see how this realtionship presents lots and lots of issues for the defense, especially after the defense's character assasination of SM over her affair,
but I am not following you on how any behavior from SD muddles BM's culpability

ALL IMO

This isn't great news.

Top Morphew prosecutor leaving the case to join Pueblo

One of the prosecutors handling the murder trial of Barry Morphew has resigned from the 11 Judicial District.

Deputy District Attorney Jeff Lindsey's last day with the district is Friday, Nov. 5. District Attorney Linda Stanley told The Gazette that Lindsey is headed to Pueblo to work in the 10th Judicial District under DA Jeff Chostner.

"I have resigned my position at this office," Lindsey said in an email, "and will no longer be a point of contact for this or any other case in the 11th Judicial District."

Stanley said Lindsey will be missed, but that his resignation will not be a detriment to the Morphew case. "We wish we had the opportunity to resolve any issues he may have had," said Stanley. She added Lindsey knew the Morphew case well but there are other prosecutors on the team who are just as determined to put Morphew behind bars.

"We are fine. We have four prosecutors and we are looking into hiring at least one more who works on the case full time."

Yeah, sounds like there may have been some internal conflicts ('resolve any issues he may have had'). But at least they have a lot of time until the trial to get someone new up to speed.

Well, that sounds like a less than amicable breakup, but they're still going to be friends.

Also, I'm not going to assume just yet this has anything to do with Suzanne's case; it could have absolutely nothing to do with it. Could just be office politics, or a can't-pass-up career opportunity, or to be closer to family, there could be any number of unrelated reasons.

(she says, hopefully)

Sounds like a personality clash to me

He was driving a white pickup the day he was arrested on May 5th. I read he traded the old truck to buy the white truck in Indiana.

Video: See the moment Barry Morphew was arrested | FOX31 Denver
If he was leasing the white truck, I suspect he gave up the lease after his "unfortunate incarceration". Doesn't make sense paying for a big fancy truck while he can't drive it. I have to wonder if he sold Bob, the cat or entrusted it to someone's care?

Out of curiosity, did the truck used to empty the storage locker have Indiana or Colorado plates? I did notice it was a Ford, people stay loyal to their brand. I suspect it was either SD's or one of his buddy's trucks and I would think they would have Colorado plates.

I don't think the plates were visible, but I'll look again. It could have been SD's truck, if she has one, or like you said, one of his buddies.

I don't know whether he leased a new truck or bought it outright. He doesn't seem to be the type of guy to lease anything. He is paying the lease for SD's house, though. Wonder why that is. Maybe he's just servicing the account.

Didn't he leave Bob, the cat in Indiana?

Bob, the cat!! :D

I'd rather they hire a dozen extra interns to get through all of the electronic data, but whatever. Another prosecutor is okay, too. :P

Is this a lateral move for Jeff Lindsey?

By living at the Cushman property, when/if the daughters visit him, they are being forced to be near the house that terrified them when their Mother disappeared - all because Barry only thinks of himself and what he wants. Makes me sick.
It looks like Barry has pretty much done as he pleased for most of his life.
No repercussions for how he may have brainwashed and manipulated the people in his family.
I do wonder if his immediate relatives are afraid of him ?
That's also sickening to think.
Imo.

Jeff Lindsey moving on - I think most people leave bosses not the company when they resign. Of course all speculation - was he maybe not in favor of arresting BM when they did, wanted to continue to build a case against him? Maybe he wasn't as confident as Stanley? Is he not going to die on the hill of this case? Or he was ready for a change and it had nothing to do with the Suzanne Morphew case. IMO
