Thank you @sk716, I appreciate your excellent visual aids. I am not averse to the mine(s) as a disposal site. What do you think was his mode of transport?
Did he have ATV? Maybe drive close enough with ATV on the truck....idk. Would depend on terrain, I guess.

I think BM is a lot like LS in the Gannon Stauch case. BM presents a story to investigators during an interview. As the case goes on, LE finds information that contradicts his story. They call him back in and he very nimbly changes his story to fit the facts. He did it then, he did it when confronted with the mechanical thingy on his Bobcat, and he did it when asked why he was running around his house on the afternoon of 5/9/20.
If he didn’t turn left, why wouldn’t he just say he didn’t turn left? Why on earth would you make up a whole story about spotting elk, following them up the highway, and turning around at Garfield? Because BM knew that LE knew.
He said he did a mechanical thingey to his Bobcat at a certain time. When LE confronted him because the time was wrong, he said he was all upset about his wife being missing. BM knew that LE knew that he didn’t do the mechanical thingey when he said he did.
When LE asked him about running around his house on the afternoon of 5/9/20, why wouldn’t he say he wasn’t running around his house? Why on earth would he say he was running around shooting chipmunks? Because BM knew that LE knew that he was running around his house.
I’m sure there are many other contradictions. The truth is that BM will change his narrative every time a new piece of evidence surfaces against him. He twists his story to fit the facts. You don’t do that if you are an innocent person.
MOO
BBM
Along with changing their story to fit the evidence, liars like to thrown in superfluous details because they think it makes their BS more believable.

He probably just was thinking of acquiring and it was not needed for a specific job. Then he thought about it again and decided to purchase it. I don't recall in the AA that he said it was needed for a specific job.
Definitely a piece of equipment that would be handy for someone who moves dirt to own. Barry had already expressed interest in buying it in September/October, 2019 but never closed the deal. Probably just happenstance that he contacted the seller on 5/9/20 asking to look at it and when the seller wasn't available that day, Barry never contacted him again. Maybe he decided he didn't need it after all....;)

Do you think BM might take the Alford plea? Get sentenced to a lesser charge of 2nd degree? Still maintain his innocence for his girls? Maybe you all have discussed this here?

In my mind, WAY, WAY too much of a coincidence !!

I suspect SD is now in the driver’s seat of her relationship with BM.

“…or else I start singing!”

Would not be drop dead surprised if SD went missing.

No. I think he's too arrogant to believe he'll be convicted in the first place. He's going for broke.

It was discussed quite a bit on the threads around the time of the preliminary hearing. IMO, Barry is in it to win it and thinks he is sitting in the catbird seat.

Like others above have said, no chance

He will never admit to anything, he will never give up SM's location, he will never accept a "plea bargain".

He is definitely going to play the long game and he is in it to win it

Most of your questions can be answered with this Google Earth case map. Probably won't open right in mobile. The path up the mountain is marked as are known mines. I suspect that she's in the one closest to the house.

Google Earth
Thanks for doing this, @sk716. I wish we knew which mines were searched by LE. A lot has been made of Garfield Mine because BM stated that’s where he turned around when he was out dumping evidence on 5/10. There are also two mines almost directly across the street from the Garfield Mine road; Giant Eclipse and Black Tiger.

But that all assumes that the purchase that he debated about was intended for nefarious use. There's really nothing that indicates that and LE cleared the bobcat in the affidavit.
They cleared BM’s Bobcat but they didn’t say a Bobcat wasn’t used. ;)

After studying the AA for a solid week, the Bobcat. There's enough space between the houses at Puma Path that it's unlikely anyone would have heard it in the middle of the night. The trees would dampen the sound once he started up. That trail looks to be an ATV trail, meaning Barry had probably spent a lot of time hunting up there so he knew his way around. In the AA, when he's asked specifically about mines on the mountain south the house he doesn't want to mention the other mine. He says the top one sealed with a boulder and you can actually see that on Google Maps satellite view. When he reluctantly mentions the other he says it's "blown up". (pg 83 of 129) You can't see the lower mine via satellite and I don't trust a word Barry says. So until somebody can get eyes on it, that's my #1 pick for where she is and why there is a bare foot print in the Bobcat bucket.

Barry moves boulders with that Bobcat for a living and the steep terrain would not be hard for someone considered pretty good at moving crap around with it. (pg 51 of 129)

At the time the AA was written, the data had not come back yet on the Bobcat and at this point is probably in a huge pile of technical data that interns are still sorting.

As there is no recording/video of the WebEx court hearing, the following statements are my opinion only of today's hearing requested by a local, female (i.e., "victim G") requesting a permanent civil protection order against SD.

1) SD resided at the same 4-plex as victim G until December 2020.

2) At some time during her 2020 tenancy, SD was a party to a domestic violence incident at the complex. It was made clear during the hearing that the DV call did not involve victim G, and that victim G is not on any related civil or criminal witness list.

3) The landlord of the 4-plex testified that he received complaints about SD from the neighbors during her tenancy but it was not until Sept 2021 that he advised SD that she was not welcome at the 4-plex, and she should not be on the property or bother the tenants.

4) In denying victim G's request for a permanent restraining order, the Court stated that it appeared that SD has honored the landlord's request and has not been to the property since Sept 2021. (Victim G failed to prove to the court the requirements met for the civil protection order).

5) IMO, the following incident testified by victim G was the most relevant:

SD texted victim G that she was in possession of her FedEx package. In the same text, SD also offered victim G and her family packages of unopened hotdogs and sausages. It seemed victim G collected her package from SD without incident but when she later checked the tracking of her package, she found SD allegedly had the package for two days before notifying victim G. Given the latest incident at PP involving SD and FedEx package, not alleging SD a porch pirate but makes one wonder about her habit of collecting packages belonging to others!

IMO, SD sounds like a hothead and a bully -- and very well-suited for BM.

Very interesting, the bbm! SD seems to be the right woman for heavy uncultivated BM.

What a rebel! SD was involved in a DV incident in 2020. Did this include her x bf?

She's been told by the property manager of a 4plex that she can no longer come onto the property. How embarrassing!

SD took possession of a FedEx package that did not belong to her. Did she open it, see what was inside, then retape it closed? Does committing this activity twice, that we're aware of, make her a chronic porch pirate?

SD texted victim G after two days of getting the FedEx package to inform her and also offered free hot dogs and sausages. Why was SD giving away free hot dogs? o_O

How many other places in town will not allow SD onto the premises?

A range rover without GPS tracking would get the job done.

I would think that there are bobcat tracks on that trail that would not be mistaken for anything else....

Does anyone know if there are mines up the mountain from where BM dramatically flung himself on the ground in the very early days of the search? It was odd enough behavior that someone took a (now infamous) pic of him laying on the ground and showed it to Andy Moorman.

That always felt to me like a diversionary tactic to keep the searchers from driving any further up the mountain in that area.

Does SD come under the heading of a "cute Salida girl", do you think? And when Barry set eyes on her, he thought "Yes! There she is, my woman!"

And, I'm a bit confused about this house of SD's that Barry is paying rent for. Sometimes it reads (to me) like Barry is paying rent to someone on behalf of SD, and sometimes it reads like Barry has been paying rent to SD. Could somebody please explain? TIA
