I agree and it’s sad that we have come to expect it. Are most of the cases ones where money is involved? Are they more concerned with getting a payout than seeing justice? I can understand not wanting to take sides in your parents fights and divorce. I can understand trying to love the surviving parent that killed the other, for a time that is. I cannot understand closing your mind and heart to the FACTS. And these two have the facts right in front of them. MM2 actually knew the divorce was coming.
All I can think of in this case, is that BM manipulated the girls to a point where they now hate their mother.

I read in the AA about MM1s supposed call to her mother but I just don’t believe her. I think she either has date mixed up or she’s lying for her Dad. IMO I think BM has told the girls that Suzanne died from an “accident” or she committed suicide. There’s just no way they could act so nonchalant about their mom being dead.

I have to wonder about that theory. Barry was the more fundamental non drinking etc Christian or so it is reported. He could have been the harder, put his foot down, boundary setting parent to two teenage daughters and Suzanne the more lenient. Sometimes they are because they are raising daughters and remember what it was like as a teenage boy. There really are no facts to go. Again has really nothing to do with the case but interesting to see people project their thoughts about two people very few of us know.

Additionally, it was noted by your affiant and other investigators that there was a Bobcat Skid Steer parked in a parking area/driveway, west of the Morphew residence. Next to the Skid Steer (south) was a flat-bed trailer. The trailer was in its tilt position. The trailer bed had some loose gravel and dirt on it. The trailer did not have a jack on it and the tongue of the trailer was lying on the ground. The Skid Steer was parked to the left side near the trailer tongue. The items were positioned such that the Skid Steer bucket appeared to have been used to un-hitch the trailer from a vehicle, most likely Barry’s truck, and set the trailer on the ground.​

It puzzles me that BM's trailer didn't have a jack. Was this his usual routine of how he unhitched his trailer was to unload the Bobcat from the trailer and then use the Bobcat to unhitch the trailer from his truck? Is it possible he used to have a jack on the trailer and possibly he damaged the jack by being in a hurry to take off with his truck and forgot to put the jack up first, which then damaged the jack and/or ripped it off and/or was so badly damaged/inoperable so he completely removed it?

Of all the trailers I have pulled, whether it be a trailer to haul a mower, or ATV/UTV, or golf cart, or larger trailers to haul larger items such as equipment, or even enclosed trailers, they have all had a jack. I can't think of any one time I have pulled a trailer of any type that didn't have a jack?

I am guessing that in BM's line of work, that he hauled that Bobcat (and/or other equipment) on a very frequent basis. I know we had heard that while the investigation was first being done, that BM was allegedly hauling around his Bobcat about everywhere he went.

So, it puzzles me that his trailer didn't have a jack?! Maybe others could chime in with their experience regarding this? I just know that my husband wouldn't pull a trailer around hauling anything of any significance on a trailer without a jack. Especially a trailer with a piece of equipment on it that required that piece of equipment to be taken off the trailer just to unhitch the trailer from the truck! Which brings up the thought of the Bobcat being positioned as if it was used to unhitch the trailer - without anything on the trailer, couldn't he himself (without the use of the Bobcat) have lifted the trailer off the hitch and set the tongue on the ground? We have trailers that when empty, you can literally lift and sit on the ball hitch and remove without even utilizing the jack to do so, although they do all have jacks of course, to not only keep the tongues off the ground but of course to use if needed to higher and lower trailer if it is a loaded trailer and/or the trailer itself is heavy, even with nothing loaded in it or on it.

JMO and just my experience with trailering/hauling stuff.

ETA - after seeing the trailer in the pic that @Seattle1 posted that he hauled the Bobcat on, I retract my thought that BM could have possibly unhitched the trailer himself without the use of Bobcat (or a jack). But then again there was a comment somewhere along the line that he could carry an elk all by himself. (Rolling my eyes at that one, lol)

Yeah that’s what confused me. I didn’t pick that up before. It does sound like a daughter. I thought of MM1 but I thought she got to see her mom before the road trip. I guess it’s possible she last saw MM1 in person in April. That was only a few days before.

I thought it was MM1 and she had last seen her mother in late April, which made BMs story about collecting the feathers of the turkey MM1 supposedly shot a pile of … I also wondered if MM1 was a little ‘hazy’ about when the call was made because she does not want to confront the possibility of her father harming her mother

My guess is LE knows if there was a phone call...but one thing is we do not know "how" Suzanne died or "time of death". It is being established by prosecution based on the cessation of her phone and internet activity so if there was a disparity I have to believe it is known.

I've mentioned before that the AA has a few inconsistencies and typos. I'm working my way through the PH transcript videos. Hopefully, I can get some more stuff cleared up after that.

That is what the prosecution has to prove. In this case that he went from loving his wife to killing her.

So, how do you explain no activity on her telephone in conjunction with him having an alibi for a job he wasn’t even able to do on that particular day? How do you explain him admitting to tossing out tranquilizer material the same thing found in the drier? There’s a lot of evidence in the case actually it’s all about being succinct if the prosecutor can properly explain the case in an organized fashion to a jury, he’s toast. Funny thing is all the evidence came from Barry boy himself!

I was reading the AA again today and noticed a few things (that might not amount to much in the scheme of things) but are interesting nonetheless.

Barry has no insight and is only moderately knowledgeable about one subject. Hunting. Each time he had to alter his original statement because of new evidence presented to him, he fell back on blaming an animal. A mountain lion got Suzanne morphed into she was thrown in the river and got hung up under a beaver dam. He was really chasing a turkey when he initially claimed to have lunch with Suzanne. He was following elk when he turned left instead of right. He was shooting chipmunks, not chasing Suzanne with a tranquilizer dart. A tranquilizer dart he claims he used to sedate deer so he could hack off their racks. Pig.

The blaming of Suzanne is beyond appalling. “Drunk eyes” ugh. He first told LE that they had a wonderful afternoon/evening because she wasn’t drunk or high. Oops.

He claims to be completely shocked by Suzanne’s affair. He’s a “godly” man and when he married, it was for life. Well, murdering Suzanne took care of that little problem. The “godly” man never searched for hot girls in Salida, looked for a girlfriend watched online. He claims someone must have planted that stuff on his phone. The “godly” man was busy flirting with a woman at the gym to the point he made her uncomfortable. He also tried to cop a couple of feels off Suzanne’s friend.

I will never believe Barry didn’t know about the affair. IMO the real reason he persisted in asking the Agents for a name was because he had searched Libler’s name before and/or after Suzanne was murdered and he was afraid LE knew it. He had to act shocked and demand to know who it was.

How so? I thought, Suzanne had chauffeured MM2 to Gunnison to MM1's address for the camping trip?? MM1 must have seen her mum because of this meeting (and MM2 must have seen her mum anyway).

Barry deserved to be left alone by all the women in his life: daughters, mum, sisters. Worst punishment for him probably, poor Barry.
