"- How does barry get ANYTHING done in his life??? He spends each waking second hunting, thinking of hunting or following game, tinkering with weapons, putting up trail cams, and looking for every opportunity he can for things he can kill or take advantage of. He can barely get out of his front door without thinking about killing or stalking something. God help any living entity that crosses barry's path!"
Evidence in the Suzanne Morphew case
I cried when looking thru the evidence photos for it was only this evening that I noticed a bear's head on the family room floor. #CrueltyToAnimalsAndHumans

Random thoughts as I watch this 48 Hours episode:

"Injury ended Barry's dreams of a Major League Baseball career."

No, he was legitimately awful.

Barry's video appeal gets funnier and funnier every time I watch it. "Oh Suzanne..."

Those texts from Barry just before he arrived home, were definitely an effort to check up on her location (are you home)?

This chipmunk alibi is gold. I love the video of the cute little chipmunk they showed later on. It's hilarious to hear Barry's account repeated on tv.

This truck data thing is interesting. This guy must be cleaning up if agencies around the world are using his software.

Hearing about the missing data from the Mother's Day trip to Broomfield, coupled with his truck moving at 9pm the previous night, I'm totally open to that vehicle being used to dispose of Suzanne's body, and Barry just getting lucky with the data not showing that.

These trash dumps seem so much worse when you are able to visualize them on tv.

"Sometimes the smallest item will turn an investigation." Although small, that cap is way larger than I imagined. No way that would sit unnoticed in the dryer for over a month. Zero chance.

The prosecution needs to close the door on this DNA obviously. I wouldn't be surprised if they already have though. If not, they just need to explain it very well.

Powerful closing with the statement from Melinda. I can't imagine the girls are watching though.

That program was incredibly irresponsible. That's putting it as tactfully as I know how.
What did you find irresponsible?. I thought they laid out the case in a balanced manner. A couple minor errors or omissions but generally well done.

Did I hear right, that they actually have identified the person who is the glove box DNA match?
That is what they said yes. But prosecution did not reveal the information until after the preliminary. The statement regarding having a name might have been in the letter of intent thinking back on it and that is where the producers got that info.

Overall, that's exactly what I expected. Even in a two hour episode a ton is going to be left out, so I think they did a good job of touching on what they did.

They had to paint the case with broad strokes, and I certainly don't think many people are going to come away with a favorable impression of Barry.

As we know, the picture is way worse when you know all the details.

Wow! Great listening!
They now know who the DNA is from that was found on her glovebox. I had not heard that before! He's probably in jail now since he was wanted for 3 sexual assaults. I wonder where.

I think we did hear about this guy they interviewed in jail or prison, but he wasn't a complete match.

Colorado is one of something like a dozen states that allow CODIS to be searched for partial matches (familial DNA).

Because crime tends to run in families, you enter unknown DNA into the system, and may generate a partial match to someone in CODIS for some other crime (if you don't get a full match).

You can then narrow it down using genealogy. So instead of using GED Match, the site they used to catch Golden State, they just use the CODIS system.

So until we get some clarity on this issue, I'm assuming the DNA they found on the glove box is merely a partial match to some unidentified sex offender.

So the person who left it may have absolutely no criminal record at all, but he is related to someone who is committing sexual assaults.

In that case it's the definition of a nothingburger, as the DNA doesn't fully match this sex offender, and it's just random DNA that shows up in just about every case.

We'll likely have to wait for trial to receive the answer.

Wasn't the dart sheath/cap found in the dryer vent? I think that was the explanation during the PH when it was not found during the initial search of the dryer and contents.

They did use the word vent, but I'm wondering if they meant "lint trap."

That second investigator seemed to find it pretty easily.

Oh and check out the stockings above the fireplace. Everyone's stockings are all nice, pure, white or beige. barry's stocking is COAL BLACK!!! Is that a stiletto? Doesn't look like there is anything in it either. VERY telling if you ask me. A bunch of dead relics on the wall of HIS kills and HIS women huddled in blankets. Another layer of protection between them and barry, the great hunter and Master of his lodge.

It looks cold there. Everyone is cold and wrapped in blankets but ol manly barry is just sitting there in short sleeves not a care in the world. Of course he's the one in front of the fire, reaping the benefits of the warmth. Just look at everyone there!!! I see NO joy in that joy or happiness in that room. I see cold. I see black and bM's dead trophies. I see the Overlook Hotel and The Shinning. HEEEEERRRRRRRRE'S BARRY!!!!!!

That picture is haunting.

I haven’t been following this as closely as some of you will have done, so is there any known movements for Suzanne in any of the places this DNA owner is known to have committed sexual assaults? Tempe, Phoenix and Chicago?

Just Phoenix. BBM. From the AA:

In October 2019, Libler had a sales meeting in Dallas and Suzanne was traveling to Phoenix. She left a day early and went through Dallas, staying at the same hotel Libler stayed, the Galleria in northern Dallas with the ice rink inside. They spent two nights at the hotel together. Suzanne was going to the Phoenix conference to become a certified fitness instructor with the mind-set of, “What am I going to do if I leave him?”

The issue is she would have flown, and this DNA was found on the glove box inside her vehicle.

This person was asking if Suzanne traveled to any location where the sex offender committed sexual assaults.

Ignoring the issue that this sex offender is apparently not a complete match to the DNA found in her vehicle, her vehicle wasn't even in Phoenix in the first place.

Suzanne would have flown there.

“Went though Dallas” sounds like she could have been driving rather than flying. Plus taking more than one flight and leaving a record of that might have been more suspicious than just driving. You’re probably right though.

The hotel has a valet parking service.

Map & Directions

That said, I’m quite sure LE have been checking all this stuff out. It’s interesting though. Who would have had an opportunity to touch her glovebox?

You're talking about 750 miles from Salida to Dallas. You're then talking about 1000 miles from Dallas to Phoenix.

That's 11.5 hours, then a drive of 16 hours.
