Defense calls Commander Alex Walker with CCSO, he previously worked at 11th Judicial DA office. He was the lead investigator on the #SuzaneMorphew case

The argument that police closed their eyes to "glove box guy" to railroad Barry doesn't seem a particularly strong trial argument to me, but I guess they need to have some straw man of a killer to pin this on.

The problem with it, IMO is why did glovebox guy stage SM's bike and helmet, when he was at her house in her car?

Commander Walker was the one to sign the AA for #BarryMorphew. Defense asks about revisions made to the affidavit. He says a lot of the revisions were commas, misspellings etc. There was a revised version sent to him from Agent Cahill. Doesn't have the email because he left the DA

It's all moot if they investigated far enough to get a name and obtain an alibi. One argument by defense is that the prosecutor's office and LE did not look at any other suspects which is the crux of the intent to sue notice. Again if they followed through then the argument by defense becomes weaker and limited to the late discovery but might be something to base an appeal on. I'm sure that is why defense added an appeal specialist so early in the trial activity. Clearly defense is covering all their bases which is what they get hired to do.

Walker says he doesn't recall what the revisions to the AA were from Agent Cahill.
He says he remembers that Cahill had only revised up to about page 19.

Defense turns to the unknown male DNA found on #SuzanneMorphew glove compartment.

Commander says he was notified bout the DNA match after #BarryMorphew was arrested. B says Agent Cahill told everyone that he was on it and would get to the bottom of it

Commander says no-one told him about the matches to the unknown DNA (reminder Commander Walker was at the DA at this time as an investigator)

As far as the 3 matches no one told Walker about them before he signed the affidavit. #BarryMorphew

Walker said switched from DA's office to the CCSO email/phone before June 7th. Cahill made revisions up to page 19, according to testimony by Cahill previously. Walker testifies he doesn't recall his emails from Cahill or emails from Agent Derek Graham.

Walker is now testifying about the partial DNA matches from the glove box. Agent Cahill put it to rest claiming he knew people in Arizona and would take care of it, according to Walker. Walker didn't know about the 3 CODIS matches before signing #BarryMorphew arrest affidavit.

Commander Walker sent out an email on June 4th to multiple LE, didn't include motions. Just said to please pass this May 27th order on to the members of your agency. He said he didn't receive calls about the order.

I wouldn't assume glovebox guy staged the bike and helmet. There's no evidence yet that supports that Barry acted alone if in fact he murdered his wife so I would not assume that one person did everything until trial especially if glove box guy has no alibi. That Barry planned and acted alone is the prosecution theory that they are using for the charge. Not acting alone doesn't diminish any culpability legally, but it also could be why not everything can be explained or is speculated. I personally am not putting a stake in anything at this point to wrap this case up in a bow in my head...too many possibilities still unknown.

Walker claims he only had one encounter by phone with DNA experts but adds he's had many meetings with top investigators as a group on #SuzanneMorphew case.

Walker says he received the order asking LE agencies to save communications about the Morphew case.
He says he passed it along to agencies- never got questions about it but admits he didn't entirely understand what the order was asking of them

Eytan is refreshing Walker's memory by showing him an email he sent on Sept. 20, 2021, to the DNA experts along with other investigators. It says there was a meeting that he participated in where they discussed the 3 CODIS matches & what CODIS means. He doesn't recall takingnotes
