Yeah, I get that too. I also don't believe a word out of BM's mouth. Did he have to persuade his daughters to forgive their mother or was that another lie? Questionable, at best.I don't think we can discount that we have typical religious beliefs and then there are BM's religious beliefs -- purely for his benefit.
IMO, BM did his best to brainwash SM with his beliefs and it took her to almost age 50 before she could think for herself. In other words, I think BM has schooled the daughters to believe that they're to hate sin, but love the sinner. And love, honor, and obey the father-- regardless of his deeds!
I'm recalling BM telling Agent Grusing that he had to sell his daughters on forgiving SM over the affair by convincing them the affair was a sin no greater than other sins.
Personally, I really fear for them and the day that the light bulb goes off. You have to believe that one day that will happen. I think today it's all about self-protection and guarding their hearts and minds about reality (as we know it).
And I agree with @MassGuy -- it doesn't mean we have to like it. MOO
Forgiving Him for leaving it up to God if Suzanne survived? That's more his style. After all, Suzanne was a sinner.
I highly doubt Suzanne shared the details of his alleged affairs (as noted by her sister) with her daughters but they'd surely have heard about it by now.
Maybe they're too busy with their young lives. And I agree with you both - it doesn't mean we have to like it.
