Don’t forget the 3 Snapchat messages from SO to SM on Saturday May 9th at 6:40 pm and 6:48 pm that SM never opened.

Super damning. Suzanne never missed a Snap and it was wedding stuff. Now, to me, Suzanne Morphew looks like a lady that LOVED a wedding. Dressing up, flowers, family, friends, joy. I imagine not being in Indiana for the wedding was probably killing Suzanne, but it was Mother's Day and the girls were coming and she had treatment on Monday so it was best to stay in Colorado and not break COVID lockdown to go to the wedding.

If Suzanne had gone to the wedding, she might still be alive today. That's got to be killing SO.

A few years back we got a motel room that smelled of bleach and we asked to change rooms. I think they do this if the previous occupant left a gross mess. This was a nice motel too.

HIE said "No," they don't use bleach.
The pool might be that bleach chemical smell, but only JP and MGs testimony will clarify.
They will know if the smell was emanating from the bathroom and the towels or wafting in from the pool.

16 year olds are not as sheltered from the real world as they may have been years ago. JMO

Seriously, I was world-weary at 16, but nothing compared to what my daughter was at 16.

Unless the prosecution has some evidence and a theory as to the smell of bleach, I'm not putting much stock in it at all.

It's possible that during that 40 minute period in the Men's Warehouse parking lot, he was cleaning the bed of his truck or something. But unless they have something more, it doesn't change much.

The significance of the hotel room is the surveillance video that captures bizarre activity (shirt changes, carrying boots and files, etc), and of course, the lie to end all lies.

Namely, where he was when he got that phone call.

There did seem to be a power dynamic in the family. Suzanne’s conversations with SO laid it all out. I think she knew where she stood in the hierarchy. I think there were two people that wore the pants, and neither was Suzanne.

Seems the daughter's don't believe BM killed Suzanne.
Is it possible they actually really didn't like or love their mother? Are so judgmental about the affair that they washed their hands of her?
I would expect them to sit on the prosecution side if they felt he did it, and continue to love him but be adults and say even so, the medicine for murder is prison.

Yes.

While MM2 could possibly help narrow down the timeline when the doorframe was busted, we do know LE already has a witness statement from the sellers that the door frame was intact when the Morphews took ownership.

I've been thinking about this. We know Barry had MM1 lawyered up the next day. It's stated in the AA that she did not speak to LE after the initial statements at PP on the 10th. But it never says any such thing about MM2.

There's no date for when they served this search warrant, but they probably interviewed her again then.

(Search Warrant REDACTED Phone)
Per the Verizon warrant served on REDACTED cell phone, the following message was sent from REDACTED on May 10, 2020 at 3:50 PM (over an hour before Martin Ritter reported her missing):

“I’m just so sad and REDCATED and I texted mom for Mother’s Day and she still hasn’t answered and I’m scared her and dad probably got in a big fight and I don’t even know it just made me want to be gone even more because I don’t want to be around them it hurts me and I know if REDACTED is working I might have to be home a lot more and it’ll probably be the worst summer of my life.”

I think she probably could clear it up, but they either didn't ask her about it, or she didn't answer.

The condition of the truck makes me think it didn’t have much to do with transporting Suzanne. Were there photos of the bed of the truck? Speaking of bed, Barry didn’t make that bed in the master. Look at the way he lives-his garage, his truck, the safe. Suzanne wasn’t alive in the morning. If Barry slept, it was somewhere else.

I don't doubt BM planned to leave the area as soon as graduation was over and his daughters were settled but I never bought that BM was about ready to flee as the reason why he was arrested May 2021.

I believe that seed was falsely planted by the former CM/TIR citing "moving vans" outside his condo and his windows opened. I believe search warrants executed after BM's arrest probably revealed the vans served as storage for construction equipment and materials being used at Tailwind Village construction in process.
MOO
I agree with you. If LE arrested BM because he was preparing to flee, then they should have evidence of that. They would almost certainly have told the judge about that evidence when the bond was being discussed. Evidence of a previous attempt to flee would be a powerful argument for a very high bond amount and close monitoring.

IIRC it was after they moved to CO 6/1/18.
I will try to find the source.
Going around and around about BM being at the gym working out all the time is what I recall.

I've got it in the PH:

Q Eytan: Sure. Based on your investigation you didn't learn anything from MH2 that he heard of Mr. Morphew being physically abusive, correct?

A Harris: Correct.

Q Eytan: What you heard from MH2 was that he did hear about parents' arguments and he gave a reason because the dad was a workaholic and wasn't home enough. Correct

A Harris: Correct.

Q Eytan: Mr. Harvey said they argued like parents do. Barry wakes up really early and is off to work.

A Harris: Sorry just to make sure you said Mr. Harvey you still mean MH2 ?

Q Eytan: MH2 , yes.

A Harris: Yes, correct.

Q Eytan: And MH2 also said that Barry is absent from the home, super passionate about his job, and it is hard on Suzanne, correct?

A Harris: Again, I don't have that in front of me.

Q Eytan: But that -- does it sound pretty close to what you've investigated in the case?

MR. LINDSEY: Judge, I'm going to object, speculation.

THE COURT: No that's not speculation. He'll know whether it sounds generally like a true statement. Or if you can't just say I don't know.

A Harris: I just don't remember that particular statement of MH2 .

I think thoughts of his planning to flee had a lot to do with liquidating all of his properties and LE surveillance. He also seemed to be packing up a trailer or something where he was only renting. I think those photos were on the DM.
If he'd made his way to the border or out of the country by whatever means, I doubt he'd have been found.

There was equipment in trailers around the condo so those rumors started. Which is kinda dumb, if he's gonna run, how's he going to take the trailers and containers? Some people do not think these things through.

He had sold off all of his properties and was not purchasing more anywhere in the USA. I believe he was ready to run at a moments notice.

Agreed. Another observation was looking at his safe and the way he kept his firearms. He treats them like junk and they probably perform that way. IMO

I don't recall photos of the truck bed, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was cleaner than the interior (appearances and all).

I'm sure Barry didn't sleep at all on Saturday, and he'd likely been awake for something like 30 hours before that 5 hour period when he didn't leave the room.

:D BARE working on that pretend wall job with no tools to actually do the work, that day on a weekend which is prohibited by State Laws, does throw his need for a hotel room into the realm of improbability.

But hey, self-admitted cheapskate BARE was just renting a room, chillin out, relaxin and watchin some sports right?

An alibi is supposed to help you, but Barry's Broomfield trip buries him.

When we first heard about this via Lauren, I knew there would be major issues once we learned the details. I just never imagined it would be this ridiculous/hilarious.

There are so many damning elements of it that the prosecution could spend a day picking it apart.

I'm sure JL's wife would like to feel alive, desired and heard. To JL's credit he did say he and Suzanne's affair was terrible, just terrible.

Source of this comment, please??

ETA: Unless you can find an MSM link, the statement "it was all over the Internet" is just rumor, which isn't allowed here at WS.

I believe the difference here was their ages, MM2 a minor and MM1 an adult. One had a lawyer and the other needed parental permission.

If I recall correctly gathering size was limited so not sure she even could have went in person. She could have travelled to Indiana, but as far as attending I think weddings, funerals, and other large crowd events were no allowed. I recall funerals having to be put on old because people were restricted to 10 I think.. if a wedding was restricted to 10 that would be mom, dad of both parties and maybe siblings. I don't know that Indiana for sure had that rule, but many places did just 2 months into the pandemic.

Yes.

The daughters are in a really bad spot. MM1 is Barry's golden child. MM2 suggested living with MM1 in Gunnison to get away from the fighting. MM2 seems to have preferred her mother to her father, not uncommon in two parent, two child households. It usually helps to keep a balance.

Barry's first act after getting rid of Suzanne was splitting the girls away from the Moorman's and Oliver's. During the months that MM2 lived alone with Barry, you can be certain he manipulated her and laid all of the blame for Suzanne "leaving" at the feet of his accusers.

Somehow, he convinced them she left them. It's the only logical excuse for them not being more cooperative.

Yes.

One daughter may be team Dad, but sadly I think one will feel she has no choice
