I guess it all depends upon what you definition of love is
Barry may feel something he identifies as love towards his daughters
IMO his love is very transactional
Based upon what others can offer him
All take and not much give

He likes the image of a perfect family
Suzanne pretty much cultivated and maintained that image for him
And when she no longer wanted to enable his behavior and play pretend
He killed her
So there’s that

The girls have stepped into Suzanne’s role
His perfect daughters now lovingly escorting their father to court
Doting on him and holding his hand
Is that appropriate
Does a loving father think of what is best for his girls
Or what is best for him

For Barry, his needs seem to be always front and center

So, IMO, if Barry loves his daughters, it is a very warped one sided type of “love”
I don't see anything inappropriate at all. They love their father and they feel sorry for him. They do not believe he killed their mother.

Could be or rust does the same thing. But of course people are going to jump to dried blood when looking for reasons to believe Barry committed the crime.

No one needs to base their conclusion on anything that flimsy, as there are plenty of things that not one person has been able to refute. Damning things that must be ignored.

Why did Suzanne's digital footprint suddenly cease forever on that Saturday afternoon, when only Barry was present?

Why did her phone power down before Barry claimed to have woken up?

Why did Barry's phone and truck show activity over an hour before he claimed to have woken up?

Why did Suzanne never check her phone on that fateful Mother's Day/Wedding day, and go on a bike ride in a location she had never gone, without things she would typically bring?

Why did Barry dump trash in multiple locations, lie to the Ritters about being at the wall site when he got that phone call (with workers present), and repeat this lie multiple times to authorities?

Of course those aren't the only issues, and those particular ones each have more depth and nuance, but no one needs to stretch here.

I personally find it inappropriate to be smiling and doting and carrying Starbucks into a trial involving your mother's death....whether you believe he killed her or not. I don't know anyone who would be happy in that situation. Holding his hand is fine I would just expect them all to be solemn. It's simply not a joyous occasion.

Like I said, they do not believe he killed their mother. They are trying to pick up his spirits like any daughter would do. MOO

https://www.thedenverchannel.com/ne...orphews-reaction-to-police-finding-wifes-bike

"Toward the end of the video, the deputy is seen talking to other investigators, showing them where the bike was found. At one point, he is asked by those investigators about Barry Morphew’s reaction to learning about the bike being found. The deputy tells the investigators, in a hushed voice, that “he (Barry) didn’t seem very distraught.”

He's on trial for the murder of his still-missing wife. Many would consider that a most solemn, serious occasion, not a pap stroll.

I don't think Barry has much respect and affection for people generally, but I do feel he loves his daughters.

I imagine he believes he does.

The evidence points towards a misogynistic, domestic abuser - toxicity levels high.

Totally agree. It really bothers me because it seems so incredibly disrespectful. It comes across to me as a happy family Starbucks outing.

There's a complete lack of reality to a man credibly accused of murdering their mother, being free to gaslight them on a regular basis. He's had weeks and months to work on them ...

Unfortunately domestic abuse and violence just isn't treated with the proper level of concern and care

I also totally agree.I cannot ever recall pictures of anyone else, defendant, witness ,lawyer or family who have entered court in the manner they have and it has not been on just one occasion, it has been every time.

I am quite prepared to be called old fashioned, but I do not feel jeans, albeit designer ones, are suitable clothes for court .

So I was plugging in the GPS coordinates from the defense exhibits. It shows Barry on 5/7 at 5:06 and 5:07pm and his truck is on rt 50 and then right on 240. Looks like the fire camp is up that way. This is Wednesday evening. The defense exhibit doesn't show anything else for the 7th and the next line is the 8th. The 6th he is at a location near anytime fitness a lot of the day.

Wasn't there some talk about something up near that fire camp in the first week or two. I recall seeing something with news coverage talking about searching that way and there are hiking and biking trails on that side of the road, but it would be something Suzanne would have driven her car to and not rode her bike too. (not that I believe she was riding that bike that day anyway)..

With all the focus surrounding former CBI Agent Joseph Cahill, from an attachment for AA by Cahill dated July 2021 for an unrelated case filed in the 5th District, this is how he described his background and experience. I recall Cahill testifying he was gone for a couple of months for military duty when BM arrested.

And whattabout Barry's declaration and outburst during adult time with Suzanne -- I want to marry you and have/make babies!!!???? Wth

Unless he was talking to "young Suzanne", who was he talking to or thinking of when he said that?!!!

Suzanne and Barry were married a long time -- Suzanne said he was boring or disinteresting. Unsatisfying, as it were. He had to look up, um, how to be, um, satisfying.

I'm pretty sure they had a fixed repertoire as most long-time couples do. If Suzanne noted it, it was odd enough, new enough, and outside the repertoire.

It's curious.

Can't figure out that bedroom declaration...
It was on a list of grievances Suzanne saved and is mentioned in the AA page 97/129.

Barry's response when asked about it was to sort of laugh it off as a comment made "in the heat of the moment in a sexual frenzy".

He went on to say that Suzanne thought he was talking to a chip in his hand, this woman that's in my hand in a chip.

This makes no sense.

But he does have an answer for everything.

Agree. The flimsy out there stuff won’t be part of the trial in my opinion at least from prosecution. Prosecution needs to build there case on the concrete stuff that isn’t open to alternative theories. That has been my main point since the preliminary.

Absolutely I he loves his daughters. There is zero, zilch, nada that points to the opposite.

Except the possibility he murdered their mother and staged it to look like a disappearance and potentially set it up for them to find

I wouldn't call that love personally

The alternative theories have to be credible too. No one would believe for instance that Suzanne ran off to Uruguay or wherever it was, with zero digital footprint.
