So I was plugging in the GPS coordinates from the defense exhibits. It shows Barry on 5/7 at 5:06 and 5:07pm and his truck is on rt 50 and then right on 240. Looks like the fire camp is up that way. This is Wednesday evening. The defense exhibit doesn't show anything else for the 7th and the next line is the 8th. The 6th he is at a location near anytime fitness a lot of the day.

Wasn't there some talk about something up near that fire camp in the first week or two. I recall seeing something with news coverage talking about searching that way and there are hiking and biking trails on that side of the road, but it would be something Suzanne would have driven her car to and not rode her bike too. (not that I believe she was riding that bike that day anyway)..

Absolutely we need a lock on where he was on the days leading up to MDW.

He may have been preparing a site.

The alternative theories have to be credible too. No one would believe for instance that Suzanne ran off to Uruguay or wherever it was, with zero digital footprint.

JMO
Yes. She's not Jack Reacher.

He's on trial for the murder of his still-missing wife. Many would consider that a most solemn, serious occasion, not a pap stroll.

MOO
Perhaps they hold his hands to keep them out of his pockets.

I imagine he believes he does.

The evidence points towards a misogynistic, domestic abuser - toxicity levels high.

I believe its possible for Barry to exhibit those traits and still love his daughters.
After all, they are an extension of him...

However, IMO if anyone treated his daughters the way he treated Suzanne
Barry would disappear them, too!
-the abuser(s) that is

I agree. There is a t.v programme in the U.K called Countdown to Murder which looks at different murders and the events which led up to them and so very often events in the preceding days/weeks play a very big part in what subsequently occurred.

Coffeemaker Location?
I took a crapton of screencaps of the kitchen last night. I couldn't clearly make out a coffee cup, but there does seem to be something near what I think is the coffee pot. These are the clearest.

@sk716 bbm When you say crapton,* you ain't kiddin'.

Was SM's coffee cup left next to coffeemaker? Likely? Ok.
So where was the coffeemaker?
Not sure I seeing what you & others see on screen caps, but I noticed in some real est listing kitchen pix** that the coffeemaker is on counter between sink & fridge.

FWIW, a coffeemaker in listing pix:

May/may not be in same location as in RAW footage. Other sleuthers may see coffee cup better than I do. my2ct.

* crapton. ;) I read that as an imperial unit of measure of mass, not as a tonne, the metric unit of mass. Either way a lotta screencaps. BTW "... tonne is usually pronounced the same as ton... but the final "e" can also be pronounced, i.e. :D"tunnie..." bbm The things we learn from being on W/S. :D . bbm Tonne - Wikipedia

Did I read correctly that BM washed his truck that weekend after SM's communications ceased?

Listening to LS recap of the last hearing and IE questioning former agent Cahill. IE had two hours to examine Cahill and similar to how she handled the PH, she exceeded the time allowed and made effort to put it on record that she wanted extra time for Cahill's pauses. In other words, IE is a master at fishing for information when grilling the witness and is very good at violating the clock. Fortunately, Judge Murphy was on to her -- time for Judge Lama to catch up. MOO

Also just going through the color photos of BM in the hotel and 1) I agree with the poster who said those look like pillowcases instead of garbage bags and also 2) in the hallway pic, one of them looks like it contains something wet.

Yes -- BM visited the car wash in Broomfield. A carwash where most throw out their trash except for BM that drove around town looking for dumpsters...

Lama did accuse her of engaging in a fishing expedition, so at least he recognized that.

If Barry didn't disappear his wife, what was he doing all day in Broomfield?

I have to believe Salida has rooms for rent. And dumpsters.

Why'd he need a hotel room at all?

Quoting myself.

It would appear that Mother's Day must have seemed like a great day for a long drive.

But I'm genuinely interested in hearing what that day was about, if not alibi building?

I noticed that as well (in People's Exhibit 33 - the photo that is time-stamped 9:06:35). That photo was taken about an hour and 20 minutes AFTER the photo I had earlier pointed out (People's Exhibit 32), in which it seems apparent to me a helmet is inside one of the pillowcases/bags. I could not make out whether the dark "blotches" seen in Exhibit 33 were a dark fluid, or possibly wet straps on something like that helmet it appears can be seen in Exhibit 32.

For those interested in comparing those blue bags to the blue sheets in the dryer, the photo with contents of the dryer is Exhibit 70.

He needed a reason to be away from the scene of the accident/abduction/Suzanne eloping with the chipmunks. In his mind, he thought distance would get him off the hook and his rubbish staging would be believed.

The job was a convenient excuse. Also gave him somewhere to sleep off his nighttime antics, clean up without leaving traces that could be used, and dump the evidence.

That’s what I think anyway.

Continuing LS recap:

More classic IE --if she makes the allegation, it must be true!

I'm recalling IE throwing the Constitution around at her first appearance and Judge Murphy reminded her that Rule 16 - Discovery and Procedure governed in his courtroom and not the Constitution.

Rule 16 - Discovery and Procedure Before Trial, Colo. R. Crim. P. 16 | Casetext Search + Citator

ETA: And all of this build-up leads to IE requesting BM's charges reduced to 2nd- degree murder, throw-out his interviews, reduce his bond to $55K, and cover his attorney fees!

I agree. I really do not think Barry thought any one would look into his alibi in any detail. I think he expected to be out with his hunting friends looking for killer mountain lions . I wonder if he kept anything to drop somewhere for a searcher friend to find but then had to dispose it elsewhere when LE stopped his plans.

I suspect defense will say this was classic BM being away from his wife and house. I had the opinion before BM was arrested that he found reasons to stay away because he was checked out of the marriage. IIRC (AA) even SM stated he was gone often and would run off after arguments. Maybe it was kind of normal for him to create busy work away from the house.

I had a co-worker share with me leading up to her divorce that she would sit in her car in random parking lots for HOURS, even sleep at times to avoid being at home.

That’s the best I can come up with for a innocent BM scenario. IMO
