Bathroom Count? Need Math Help for adding two single digits?
We've got 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths -- if that's accurate, that first floor bonus room room must be the half bath. Then the main suite/bath, leaving two full baths for upstairs. The bonus room has NO WALL and likely no closet so it's not a bedroom by any stretch. Therefore, the half bath is a powder room for guests by day.
UNLESS the poster upthread is correct and the early listing confirms that hall bath as a full bath, reducing the upstairs bathroom census to one, shared between two bedrooms, leaving a half bath floating somewhere within those walls. Probably off the kitchen somewhere. Levitating loo in the pantry,
This house brought to you by the stylings of M.C. Escher.
JMO
@Megnut Thanks for your post, w bonus points :)for mentioning M.C. Escher.:)

At top of Zillow listing for PP: "3 bd 4 ba" & "3,256 sqft"
Click "4ba"result: "2 full baths + 1 half bath"
Huh? What? Is that "new math" or MLS quirk or ____?

Ignoring ^ math, click on "Home Details "then "Overview" for bath descriptions:
"master suite with 2 large walk in closets and a luxurious 5 piece bath!"
" Each guest room w/ Full bathroom!"**

"A great size bonus room for recreation, extra TV/Sitting room or fitness area!" bbm

Imo,
Main level: master bedrm has........ one full bath.
Plus, off hall or mini-ofc.................. half bath.
Upper Level: guest bedrm #1 has... full bath.
Plus.............. guest bedrm #2 has... full bath.

= ...........................................total = 3 full baths & 1 half bath.
my2ct, could be misinterpreting or just plain wrong.
ETA: Sorry, way behind. Covering territory others have already addressed.

Tranqueing?
I'm no expert but I think responsible hunters/farmers/veterinarians who need to tranquilize animals also have the proper "antidote" on hand, administered to quickly rouse the animal to full alertness, lest they leave a half-sedated animal to stumble away, vulnerable to injury or prey.
Barry seems the sort to use tranquilizing as the first dance at the death prom. JMO
@Megnut Thanks for raising issue of tranqueing after-care.
Yes, I absolutely agree w your post about ^ professionals: they use appropriate tranqueing practices and follow up w necessary treatment/care before releasing animals.
BM, well, um, personally I'm doubtful that BM does.

I'm no expert either but earlier just noted my very quickie searches did not find any CO Parks & Wildlife laws or regs, or agency online publications specifically on that point. Not trying to argue his darting deer to remove antlers was legal.

I really do not see BM pleading to anything that would involve prison.

He's gonna ride this all the way down.

I think he truly believes that whatever he did to Suzanne was justified.

Let me clarify that for you Mrs Watson - "she brought it on herself." ;)

Admittedly, I may never understand Barry talking 3 Xs 30 hours to the FBI without an attorney present. He liquidated everything he could, and as quickly as possible, in case he was arrested and needed to hire a D team, I suppose. How different would this case be if Barry was not a prevalent liar?

We wouldn't have the admission of Barry using the tranquilizing dart in the breezeway on May 9th.

I think he may have realized the dart sheath was missing when he was at Men's Wearhouse parking lot. He opened and closed the doors on both sides of his truck often, perhaps - in a frantic 40 minute effort to search for something important.

Shooting chipmunks Sat afternoon is unacceptable and unbelievable. moo No evidence to support this.

We wouldn't know why only one plate was inside the dishwasher if he wasn't a liar because we know Suzanne didn't share a plate of steak with Barry. Heck, some doubt they still slept in the same bed while Barry claims an evening of making love after his solo plate grilled din din. Let me be reassuring. Suzanne's was not a romantic death. Barry's intentions were ruthless, the most cruel and inhumane. This time, he wanted more than to just hurt her. moo

Without his lies, we would still know ...

Suzanne's last proof of life image taken at 2:03 on Saturday with no further comms from her since telling JL she's switching to WA after sending her precious outdoors POL photo to him.
the stories that Barry's phone and telematics data will tell.
the cracked bedroom door jamb.
his suspicious, and ridiculous, alibi about a big job; crew called last minute, Bobcat stayed home.
Broomfield prohibits construction work on Sundays of every month all year long.
five trash runs.
the spy pen recorded Barry listening to true crime episodes and their fights about money.
the tranquilizer material in garage, tossed during trash run and the dart sheath found in dryer.
Suzanne's powerful and painful text messages.
damning scratches on Barry's left arm. Photos taken May 13, 2020.
MH declaring Suzanne would never take that particular bike route. He knew as soon as his dad told him where the bike was located when found above the river.
Bike expert testifying that bike appeared to be "ghost ridden".
All the other evidence we've mentioned along these copious pages as we wait for his May 2022 Murder 1 trial to begin. Some of you have become what I'd consider to be case experts. Proud of ya for that.

Perhaps the most terrifying evidence is

"Documents show tranquilizer dart material was found in the Morphew’s garage. The needle sheath cap was located inside the dryer."

Magic Potion? Dissolving Completely? Time?
...Back to the bleach thing could he have emptied the hot tub placed her there while sedated then doused her with enough chlorine and choose another chemical, closed the lid and headed back to Salida? He opens the cover at a later point to let it air out, dries up the liquid...
ETA it wouldn’t have taken him much time to drain the hot tub, fill it with toxic chemical mix, wait for his magic potion to work and later drain the small amount of chemicals and rinse and refill....
@mom2chloe sbm bbm I've wondered about this too.

Is the idea is that putting SM in tub causes her death by drowning or chemicals?
Or does mix dispose of remains, by dissolving them, so no transport of remains is necessary?
Does this magic potion dissolve remains of a petite adult female, bones, teeth, and all, to a liquid state?
Leaving no remains for BM to remove from hot tub, to transport elsewhere? Just drain hit tub liquid into septic tank? Could simplify some of the logistics for BM.

Not asking about specific chemicals in the mix, but asking:
Does mix dissolve remains completely, no bones or teeth?
Is there sufficient time for a mix to 'work', i.e., to completely dissolve remains?
W this hypothetical chem mix, how many hours?

I'm ignorant about the no hope for cameras. Is that a Colorado law or just specific to this case?
Why not audio? What would be the harm in that? Seems would factually represent.
I don't understand the lack of transparency.
Sorry so uninformed but TIA for any answers...

Edit to add:
I think since BM arrest the court has gone from cameras, livestream whatcha ma call it, texting to this.
Just wondering if all the restrictions due to random troublemakers?
Which serves a certain agenda.
Mmmph!

In several ways, Colorado's Constitution was drafted mirroring the US Constitution including the provision prohibiting cameras/audio in federal courtrooms.

To answer OP's question, media coverage of court proceedings in Colorado is governed by Rule 3 of the Public Access to Information and Records Rules promulgated by the Colorado Supreme Court.

Rule 3(a)(3)(A) states there shall be no expanded media coverage (EMC) of pretrial hearings in criminal cases, except advisements or arraignments.

In other words, this is not a blanket approval where all advisements and arraignments will be granted approval for EMC but that the court will give consideration for coverage of advisements and arraignments. (Please reference the link below).

Regarding requests from the media for an exception for trial coverage-- citing public interest, etc., it's not unusual to see the court issue an advance order stating that any request for expanded media coverage seeking greater coverage than that authorized by Rule 3(a)(3)(A) of the Public Access to Information and Records Rules will be summarily denied. We saw this exact order issued more than a year ago in the matter of People of the State of Colorado vs Letecia Stauch.

More recently, due to the public health emergency caused by COVID-19 where the number of individuals allowed to be present in the courtroom was severely limited, we saw the court acknowledge the public and media interest, and the inherent right of the press to observe criminal trials, not by allowing cameras in the courtroom (violation of Rule 3) but by using the court's audio and video to stream the entire trial via WebEx.

We saw this in the matter of the People of the State of Colorado vs Mark Redwine where the court denied all requests for audio and video streaming, broadcasting, or recording by media (EMC) but arranged to stream both audio and video of the entire trial after the completion of jury selection via WebEx.

The court also allowed the streamed audio/video content to be captured,
re-streamed, and/or broadcast live or at a later date to ensure that the public and media were able to observe the trial. Court TV and local news stations were authorized to stream/broadcast to the public -- not to be confused with a random trouble-maker illegally capturing WebEx and streaming on YouTube (and why the Morphew courtroom is now restricted).

Raising my hand. And now you all know I’m older than dirt.
I thought the exact same thing as both you and DizzyB did! I want to say something about this judge but I WON'T.
See? I've put a lot of work into that. *whistles*

Great comment. The answer to all of the above, in my mind, is simple.
Barry has fantastic delusions of grandeur.
He's gotten away with talking himself out of jams, charmed his way out of taking responsibilities and fooled many people his whole life with his lies. What would make getting away with murdering his wife any different?

Now that the judge has essentially muted the journalists (unless they can find some old chick, like myself, who took Gregg shorthand in high school ~ I think I remember 'Dear Sir'), we won't know what happens when the defense is faced with the hundreds of lies unless the journalists have exceptional memories. Actually, I'm a really good notetaker but deciphering them later can be somewhat of a challenge.
Ya think this ruling has left me less than optimistic and maybe a tad perturbed? You'd be correct.

Every murderer makes mistakes.

They're never as smart as they think they are.

Something always trips them up.

Barry.
Bobcat Barry.
New blade Barry.
Backhoe Barry.
Trailer jack Bobcat Barry
6 minutes
SIM
Dog alerts
Arm pin, loose bolts
Footprint
Left turn
14 miles

Let's say Barry WAS planning to use his Bobcat. What steps would he take to allow for that?

I propose -- get a new blade. Pristine, unused.
Find out where backhoe dude is. Find an idle, unsupervised SIM card.

Let's say Barry didn't really need a new blade (MG might be able to say). Would he really get it changed anyway? Cheap Barry throwing away a perfectly usable blade??

Instead.....

Barry dumps a really old blade. Later he removes sparkly blade, attaches his original beloved still's got some life in it blade. Goes out after dark, possibly to the left. Possibly with his trailer, a newly SIMmed Bobcat with his favorite blade and a truck from his current address.

Between 11pm and 3am, he is up towards Monarch, disposes of his wife. Uses his Bobcat to move a massive boulder. Drives back toward PP, stopping somewhere long enough to drop the beloved blade (to retrieve after a couple days/weeks), gets back to PP, where he reattaches the new blade (leaving the extra bits from his newly stowed blade), and leaves scent on the trailer, the blade and the seat.

Takes a bromide bath in the hot tub... and spends the rest of the day trying to dilute how he smells --

He doesn't bring the Bobcat to Broomfield because he wants it found clean.

But it's too clean.

That's suspicious as heck, no?

Anything here to work with?

JMO
Much to work with! I've thought that he didn't take the bobcat because a) he didn't need it to do a non-job, and b) he would've been that much more noticeable on the many dump rides but you're right - the NEW blade changes things.
I assumed he changed it because of what dna it might hold, and it still may have something to do with it if it were old and rusty where cleaning would be obvious and maybe futile and/or he damaged it.

Meant to say this earlier but I also want to thank you for your 'how many plates were involved is unclear' [paraphrasing].
I nearly choked to death on my salad! Too freaking funny! :D

Restating this succinctly.

IMO the reason he didn't take the Bobcat to Broomfield is because he STAGED it. To appear as unused.

JMO

  • #514
And again, IMO, he staged the bike to seem ridden and the Bobcat to seem unused.

We haven't fully appreciated how hard he worked at this.

After reading the remains of Kara Nichols have been found, I sincerely hope Barry is bricking it, not all things can be hidden forever Barry and Suzanne won't remain hidden either.

Lots of prayers and thoughts to Kara's family and friends ❤

Perhaps some of you know how murderers act in cleaning up a crime scene--from following previous cases, of course, not from personal experience ;-) . How do they keep track of all the things that need to be done? Do they write out lists? Do they record a memo on their phone? Do they frenetically retrace all their movements checking for evidence? It just seems incredibly hard to erase everything. But then, maybe erasing 90% of it is enough as it leaves such a mishmash of clues that LE can't really piece things together.

The best ones keep notes. (Best for us crime followers, that is)

Some pass notes. (PFrazee passed a note in jail on commissary napkins, a hit list of witnesses he wanted kidnapped/killed.)

Some use hidden devices.

Some mentally rehearse. For days, yeeeaarrs.

And they all make mistakes.

They enlist others, before, after, both.

They stage.

Sometimes they keep that victim's digital life going.

In the end, it all points right back to and only back to them.

Fail.

Thankfully.

RSBM

It's the age old problem with the "whoops where's my wife/child" form of staging.

Anyone who is innocent will be on the phone to the FBI 10 times a day demanding progress and updates. A guilty person will be the one not cooperating properly. Typically investigators will look to clear around their feet and exclude the innocent domestic persons of interest quickly. So in effect by adopting this template you create incentives to cooperate, when that cooperation is likely to help convict you.

Only idiots do these murders IMO.

Random thought, I wonder if the cadaver dogs hitting on the bob cat was because of BM. He would have sat in the seat and also touched near the blade when he used the bob cat to detach the trailer.

But I guess if that were the case, dogs would have hit at other locations around the house?
