And do we have any sense of SM's purpose in her bike rides? What I mean is, was she riding for exercise/fitness (wasn't there some talk that she was considering trying to become a personal trainer?) or was she riding for the fun/adventure/bike skills/adrenaline/outdoors experience? I don't think we've seen anything specifically elaborating on this, but I'm curious what folks think.

Trying to put myself in Suzanne's place - I think I might be riding just to fill in some of those long, lonely isolated days.

I have to wonder who he would have called if he hadn’t been able to reach the Ritters. Of course he knew he could bank on them being home and wanting to help.
Would he have called GD ? He lived fairly close by, right?
He couldn’t wait too late in the day since the story was a bike ride and her being out close to dark without taking her car would not look feasible.
I wonder when he found out the girls were running late.
He’s damn lucky he had the Ritters because if not, how would it look if he waited much longer to either call LE himself for a welfare check OR leave his big job and come home to check on her ?! Things were gonna look hinky enough.
He must have been sweating bullets once she was reported missing.Knowing he’d would have to deal with authorities.
Of course he had planned to be far enough away that he could practice his script on the drive home.

“ Could she have gotten disoriented and got in the river?”

Barry missed the podcast that tells one what NOT to do when murdering your spouse. Things like being out of town for work and using someone peripherally involved to make the 911 call. Or staging your missing loved one riding in the morning and from the house to the trail, instead of in the afternoon and taking her car, with no water.

It perfectly illustrates the state of the marriage that Barry didn’t know these things. He didn’t care to know how Suzanne usually went about her day unless it affected him.

The last things I’d want to think about if someone I loved was missing are the terrible things that could have happened. I’d hope for something solvable like a flat tire not a mountain lion. Then, as more time passed, I might start worrying that maybe a chain broke not he’s in the river.

Barry went right to the deadly stuff. He’s so predictable. It’s easy to see why LE suspected something was off.

There’s no way I can look at SM’s texts and see that BM leaving at 5:00 a.m ( or earlier) on Mother’s Day is just part of his pattern of “ taking off” to avoid an argument and that it’s perfectly normal behavior.

He would take off sometimes for days or weeks. Sometimes it was a hunting trip where he said his phone would be off to save the battery. He would say a week then unexpectedly come home. Manipulation and Control.

He apparently traveled back to Indiana at least once, maybe more telling SM he had “ legal dealings “ to tend to but refused to say more.

I don’t blame her for wondering if he had another woman.

As far as him taking off whenever there was an argument or something he didn’t want to hear, he always took off after involving the girls. Huffing out, playing the victim to get their sympathy. Your Mom is the bad guy, she treats me so unfair.Manipulation and Control.

But his audience wasn’t home on Mother’s Day.

And whatever transpired from the day they left town until Saturday was not “ an argument “.

He didn’t leave early for his big job to “ cool off “.

Barry didn’t even know what time of day she biked. He took her helmet while leaving everything else she needed to bike with in the RR. Not that it matters because whatever clothes Barry pointed LE to, I wonder if Barry washed her last outfit with the sheets and syringe cap. Kudos to him if he did wash them and at the minimum put away her recently worn clothing. He stated at one point that she was a matcher and last seen in white shirts with a white stringy top. Where are those? Maybe in a dumpster dump in Bloomfield? I still wonder wth he was dumping in all those stops. We may never know but it would certainly be food for thought. He burned her journal so why not just burn whatever else. I also wonder if the RV park had burn barrels. Why so much crap was disposed of we may never know but certainly his truck remained filthy and full of junk.

I always think of the other chemical that I'm sure Barry had on hand as a landscaper- Round Up. I just always wonder how long he has been trying to do Suzanne in....like maybe since she got her inheritance? MOO and pure conjecture but who hasn't seen those class action lawsuit commercials about Round Up causing Lymphoma. Did a light bulb go off when he saw those? But it didn't work and she survived? This has been nagging thought in my head and is my own opinion.

Yes the same golf course where Barry worked and where he had a run in with Jeff Liebler after learning of him attending the party at Suzanne and assaulting him.

Walker says he spoke with Barry the following day (May 11) at 1:06 p.m.

Barry said the last time he saw #SuzanneMorphew was May 10 at 5 a.m. He said they had had a great day and evening. He said she was "his angel" since they were 17 and they "love each other to death."

He seemed to be fairly efficient in making those trash dumps, was that just luck?

With the voluminous amount of stuff BM discarded in Bloomfield via multiple dumpsters...I can't imagine that he would bring the helmet back home with him...He knew LE would be waiting for him...I personally think he ditched it while snipe hunting, er, I mean Elk watching. No other explanation for him going in that direction on his way to Broomfield.

PS I just put a copycat in the zoo

Disposing of Whatever. Burn barrels in RV park?

... He burned her journal so why not just burn whatever else. I also wonder if the RV park had burn barrels....

Briefly, doubtful imo he could/would have burned at RV park. At his house, IDK, no comment.

Not so briefly, two things.
1. Burn barrels for guest/visitor use would be unexpected* imo particularly in a forested area due to wildfire risks. Alternatives - dumpsters - are nearly universal avail. in private RV parks or campgrounds.
2. Assume that RV park was open in early May 2020. Say someone either by truck/on foot took whatever to the park's campfire ring** to burn and waited around to ensure it was no longer recognizable/traceable to him. Seems likely imo his actions (over hours?) would call attention to him, & he might be noticed in daylight or darkness. Maybe recorded on surv. cams? If BM thought about using burn barrels (hypothetically or actually) there, he may have been dissuaded by ^.
Well, if he considered the risk/reward ratio. my2ct.

* FWIW in several yrs of full-time travel in motorhome (ah, retirement), I do not recall seeing burn barrels for guest/visitor use RV parks/campgrounds in Colorado or other states. Possible that barrels were there? Yes, we coulda missed them. No personal experience at Monarch Spur RV Park close to PP home. Services & Amenities, Monarch Spur RV Campground
