Thank you for the source! I thought there was a different video of him sitting on some steps showing off his Valentine's cards but this video sums it up just as well.

Other than his word that that card was sent on Vantine's Day 2020, we really have no idea what year it might have been sent. It could have been sent the year after they were married for all we know.

It did strike me as odd at the time, (5 months after her disappearance) that he would trot out those Valentine's cards.
Yes, the things written in that card could have been at anytime in their marriage, but to me it sounded like SM was saying “ remember when things used to be good between us?”
Not what he intended I don’t think.

Did anyone else notice the aqueduct running along the Arkansas in the Morphew's backyard (if I am reading the map correctly)? So what would that be? A pretty big buried pipe? Wonder if it's still in use? Maybe a good place to hide a body?
SOMEWHERE in the convoluted AA is a mention that an Excel pipe was searched. I can’t find it ! But I know I didn’t dream it.

I remember that was my immediate thought the first time I read it too. She was saying I love you but...remember the good times.

These are just our ways of interpreting her words though. I don't think anything can be made of it with any certainty. Unfortunately.

It is mentioned in MSM, but it doesn't say where the Excel pipe is.

Law enforcement searched for Suzanne’s body in abandoned silver mines, in lakes, undernearth concrete foundations and an Excel pipe, but found no trace.

@waldojabba wrote from the last thread:

[Totally agree @OldCop there is something going on IMO
Hopefully they cast a wide net and do not limit their search to strictly female affairs/paramours
This guy goes to a lot of trouble to hide something that he does or participates in, that I suspect he feels is not something that would enhance the manly image he tries to project.
It’s been knawing at me from the beginning -
Who puts their phone on airplane mode and disappears for days. Especially a husband and father ?
Why did his nephew refer to BM only as the husband initially and why did BM not come forward in front of any cameras initially but make that damning fake “Oh Suzanne, if anyone can hear me?” ransom appeal to only the facebook audience?
What else is he hiding ?
Moo]

I've always thought along the same lines.

Barry Morphew murder case: Husband made five "trash runs" on day wife went missing, FBI agent says

Morphew at one point told investigators he was probably throwing away wrappers at McDonald’s, and later said he couldn’t remember what he was throwing away, Grusing testified. After stopping at the restaurant, Morphew went to a large trash bin near a Men’s Warehouse store and spent 40 minutes in that parking lot, Grusing testified. Later that afternoon, Morphew placed a full trash bag, tree planter and a camouflage jacket in a trash bin near the hotel, Grusing said.

RSBM

Thanks for this reminder about the camouflage jacket.

So here we have a man who takes old boots along on a trip to salvage the laces, yet dumps a camo jacket along with the boots. The day after his wife was murdered.

Although not necessarily at the same time - on a day when time should have been precious, because no amount of anti Hallmark arguments will ever convince me that a loving husband leaves his wife home alone on Mother’s Day without a very good reason. No, on this day, which required a 5am start (according to his own account and super power ability to wake himself at will) he had time to follow a herd of elk in the dark, the wrong way, and then at his destination had time to make five separate trash dumps. One, at the Mens Warehouse place, lasting 40 minutes.

Then of course he had time for a good old nap, waking just in time to lie about where he was when he took the call.

When you lay it out like this, none of it is remotely credible.

Or he has a habit of dejunking his truck when he has the opportunity. From the look inside his truck and garage it is entirely possible he was just killing time doing what he may have done hundreds of times over the years.

BIB

What we are going to see at trial is "Testimony from counsel"

AKA Wild Speculation ...

Barry always killed time by going to 5 dumpsters! He's done it all his life! *

* source Barry Morphew

No serious, coherent version was offered by Morphew despite having a year to think about it.

So yes. Counsel will try to claim many things are entirely possible and henpeck every single fact in the circumstantial web via speculation.

Whereas when a properly directed jury steps back and asks itself what circumstantial evidence it accepts, and what reasonable and obvious inferences should be drawn, it is clearly not even remotely possible the accused was killing time

Silly question I'm sure but what exactly is a tree planter?
Plastic nursery pots that plants and shrubs come in. Typically they are black.

Someone posted a link in the previous thread for a Chaffee County topological map. I’m sorry I don’t recall who posted it. There’s was a link on that page for Chaffee County mines:

Top Mines in Chaffee County, CO

If Barry left Suzanne in a mine shaft, and IMO there’s a pretty good chance he did, he had plenty to choose from. He was limited in time/distance and vehicle. Although, he might have put Suzanne in a temporary spot (in a cooler stashed on some other property?) and moved her later (IMO doubtful - too many eyes watching him).

I thought I’d post the link, if anyone wants to explore. :(
The thing about too many eyes watching him in the days following SM’s disappearance…………
He managed to shake off everyone and go to Poncha Market on Tuesday night to go rummaging through the trash. He was either getting rid of something or trying to retrieve something he left there. I always thought it was SM’s phone.
How long was he gone that night?

I don't like to admit it, but Barry has outfoxed me.

Where did the May 4, 2020 fire happen in relation to the power line cut and the mines? Was the fire in close proximity to any of the mines you are referring to? (*Please forgive my inability to look at 2 similar maps and compare them, right now. I've been really sick all week and my brain is on about 1/10.)

Firefighters save ghost town cabin from burning in wildfire on Colorado mountain pass | OutThere Colorado
The little ghost town where this fire occurred is off Hwy 50, west of the intersection of CR 225 and on the south side of the road. In other words it is between the Morphews’ former home and Garfield where BM turned around on the morning of SM’s disappearance. (And where SM’s helmet was later found.)
The power lines can be seen paralleling the south side of Hwy 50 all the way up to Monarch Pass. The mines we have been talking about would be SE of the Morphew home. However, the are also mines to the SW west.
Ironically, the fire at the cabin started when a tree hit a power line. About 5 acres burned.
I’ve attached a map of the general areas we are discussing. It is not exact and not to scale, but gives you an overview to wrap that tired brain around. :)

Now that I think about it, the missing brown towel would probably be the most damning thing to show up in the trash in Broomfield.
I mean, it was photographed with SM as part of her last proof of life.
If we are to believe that BM was just cleaning out his truck, why would the towel be in his truck?
He said he cleaned off his workbench and loaded his truck the night before. When asked about the tranquilizer material he finally admitted that he threw it away in one of his trash runs and that it was “ probably on the workbench”.

jmo
Can you just imagine the state the garage must have been in before he tidied up? It’s obvious women have been cleaning up after him his whole life.

Not that I believe he cleaned up anything in the garage. It was just a convenient placeholder for whatever he was really doing.

Help me here. The left turn. (From the AA P 74/76 and 84/86)

Barry describes a gulley and a washed out road. He says the elk had already crossed but he wanted to get a better look at the bull, wanted to know their pattern so he could collect horns. Did Barry turn onto the "washed out road"?

Did he go off roading?

Mappers, where is that? And why would he do that? And why would he then have to go all the way up to Garfield to turn around?

Where else might he have gone?

"KISS"

I AGREE .

Believe I read or heard that BM made the comment that he is good at only 2 things...

1) Working
2) Hunting

Prior to Suzanne's disappearance he was known for erratic behavior and being always on the go.

This can lead to endless rabbit trails and red herrings as we look at his activities to determine the motives behind them.

On the other hand he has been described as cunning, so the convoluted data we are analyzing may be of import.

He is not a mastermind but as of now is successful in having hid a body.

It's obvious that BM is no creative genius as evidenced by the chipmunks, elk, turkey, deer stories. When he has to go off script, he's a bumbling idiot. That's why I think he is more of a "copy cat" killer who took notes from others he sees as being successful in their crimes.

There are two mines I found near Garfield that look interesting to me as potential dump spots. Both very remote, both with adjacent water sources- the Columbus Mine and the FairPlay Mine. I've been trying to find more info (are they shafts or easily accessed?) but so far no luck.

This has been bugging me -- telematics recorded all those door openings and other activities that morning.

Was there a data point for opening his window after he turned left, when he would've thrown the helmet?

Did he open his window anywhere else? Any trash cans where he simply had to drive up, never exit? The Poncha Springs trash can, within an arm's throw?

LE should at least have a telematic event around 4:40am, no? Otherwise how did he get it out of the vehicle? Unless he put it there later.

Maybe he was going to dump his spoils around Salida but thought better of it.

Once the mountain lion story fell flat, perhaps he pivoted to abduction, and was looking in the Poncha Market trash to retrieve her helmet....

The helmet just makes no sense!

If you are going to a car wash, it’s the perfect place to throw out your trash-they are actually fine with it! They have the pails set right up for you to dump your garbage in. It’s kind of the point. Barry also had his association dumpster to throw stuff in. Yes, he’s cheap, and I’m sure he paid fees that included access to that dumpster. Why use at least five others when he could have dumped his garbage so easily? He could have had so much more nap time at the HIE.
