There are pullouts and two other roads like 225 joining 50 before Garfield.
MOO he wanted to go where he was going.

Yes. To my mind the question of whether he could see the Elk is the wrong question.

His statement allows for them to be close to the intersection, such that he could have seen them silhouetted in the road when he looks left to turn right. But following them in the truck, in the dark, is nonsense, and he could easily turn much sooner as you point out.

I went back and reviewed LS's summary of the 01FEB2022 hearing to determine the origins of the information about Agent Cahill being removed from the case after the PH because of his testimony at the PH.

I was wrong! It does not appear to be based on testimony. It did appear to happen while Agent Cahill was on the stand on 01FEB2022.

However, it was one of the attorneys that commented that Agent Cahill had been removed from the case after the preliminary hearing and The DA was not happy about his testimony in the PH.

It was the assistant DA handling the case at the hearing who made the comment and introduced this information.

Not good....IMO!

I agree it opens the door to lazy/corrupt cop fits up the husband narratives

On the plus side, Grusing will be the star protagonist for law enforcement, and he is highly credible, plus the state has more than enough time to prepare expert testimony about the DNA

I worry much more that bureaucratic incompetence may mean the state doesn't present its case as well as it could. But hopefully the fear of media spotlight will motivate them to devote proper resources to this.

The biggest thing is that this elk garbage only came up in March of 2021, months and countless interviews later (Page 73).

March 1, 2021) [In this interview, Barry again significantly altered his prior statements to adjust to evidence presented to him. He said he turned left on Highway 50 as he left the house on May 10th to see where elk were going, which put him in the direction of Suzanne's helmet.

The admission to SA Harris was the first time Barry admitted to turning left on Highway 50, away from the Broomfield route. This accounts for the missing mileage from his return to trip home from the Broomfield hotel -Barry's odometer registered a 183-mile trip to the hotel that morning, including about 2 miles of deviations, and a 167-mile trip on the same route home -for an approximate 14 extra miles.]

Came across this in the AA which got me thinking ... strange linkage

SA Grusing showed Barry a photo of a .22 round in his bedroom, asking Barry if he knew where it was from. He said, “Hmmph, no, I don’t.” He guessed it came from his pocket when Suzanne was folding laundry.

Suzanne's phone pinged at 4.23am on 5/10 at a location other than the home. Yet BM states Suzanne was asleep...and he even heard her snoring at 5am, IIRC. How does BM explain Suzanne being home in bed and her cell phone somewhere several miles from home at the same time?
I want to watch his face as he answers this question...

W* sent Barry a series of texts on September 23, 2020, accusing Barry of killing Suzanne and telling Barry he would rot in hell.
George W would do well to move a long way away, in the event that Barry is acquitted. MOO

Oh, he's not the only one. There are several people in that AA that paint Barry in a very bad light.

Many of these people are longtime friends too.

Yes. I suspect he thought they had the telematics after all, so he had to give a reasonably accurate account.

I can just imagine Barry initiating an argument to give him the excuse to go and spend time with someone else whilst making it appear it was Suzanne's fault he left.
Yup!
Gaslighting at its finest!

I’m no expert but I have tried googling to find if a tranquilizer dart could be fired from a firearm chambered for .22 and was not able to find any. I did find places that talked about shooting a dart from a 22 air rifle, but that is different.

I vaguely remember somewhere in these many threads that Grousing admitted to being mistaken about the dart being able to shoot through BMs chipmunk gun. I can’t find it though so could be wrong.

Can any one here find a link showing that a 22 firearm can shoot a tranquilizer dart, besides Grousing’s testimony?

This is a dart gun made for animal control or capture. This is a Marlin 925R 22 cal model that has been modified by a company named Pneu Dart that is located in PA.

Amazing how we’ve heard the statement that BM’s “stories kept changing to fit the evidence “ and then to zero in on those statements from his early interviews and compare what he comes up with once LE had surveillance footage, cell phone data and truck data!
This elk story is a big one. There’s no way he would forget that detail.
Also the trash runs and Hotel activity.
He actually thought they wouldn’t see what he was up to. Or he didn’t realize that the Hotel wasn’t the only place they would track him to.
Some pretty bold lies in the beginning. Moron.

Great post

I think that at trial a hammer is going to fall in respect of the disabling of the Truck Telematics Sync and GPS

If expert testimony can show

1. That it was human intervention and/or

2. That the data loss fits precisely to obscure crime-ing ...

whoopsies

For instance, will we hear that there is no GPS/Sync for sunday, until by some coincidence, Barry pulls into a parking lot for a dumpster run in Broomfield? (when he put the fuse back in)

Wow and OMG.
"Dealing with the devil".
"Payed cash, hired a lot of illegals." (Very red flag.)
"Dad's dying affected him so badly, he couldn't run his own business." (Poor, poor Barry. A disease/death of another person always good for every excuse, it seems.)
-.-.-
In 2004 BM became self-employed, and in 2018 he had already two million dollar homes, expensive cars, machines, expensive vacations with a family of 4 and what else. Is that possible without being extremely shady in business dealings and without some corpses in the basement? Is that possible without something like a mafia (dependent illegals) around him? - If Suzanne hadn't been missing since May 2020, when would criminal business practices have been exposed one day? Does bring me to the thought again: What did Suzanne know about him and his "business" and wanted to use it against him perhaps? I think of something really, really bad, which she for heaven's sake couldn't tell her best friend or her sister or her girls or JL.

Speculation and IMO.

Sudden cognition:

A landscaper would make a very good hitman, if the character were appropriate .......

(Doesn't help the case of Suzanne, I fear. :()

So what was he really doing?????

He drove 14 miles.... and like a half hour is missing from the morning before his phone came out of airplane mode and his travel was picked back up by CCTV ...

If his window was open and stayed open...

Discarding other evidence?

Checking on something?

Passing something off to someone?

Who might've been within 6 miles of PP that morning?

He purposefully left his phone in airplane mode so it must've been really important -- a decision he made before turning left.

Where did he go???????

JMO
bbm
He had a talk from window to window?
He passed a file?
He passed a gun, dart gun? (Maybe, sold the dirty gun?)
He passed cash?

It seems that the tranquilizer darts do not contain any 'charge' or gunpowder that would allow them to fire from a nonmodified .22 rifle. It is the striking against the back of the bullet containing gun powder, by the rifle pin which causes the bullet to shoot out of the gun. It seems that dart guns are working off of air propulsion - like many bb or pellet guns. So while the caliber of the tranquilizer dart may be .22, it would not shoot out of a rifle that uses .22 caliber ammunition, because it is lacking the firing charge.
If Suzanne was 'shot' with a tranquilizer dart, it was most likely manually put into her and definitely not shot into her from that 'squirrel' .22 that Barry surrendered. JMO

All we need to know is that Barry copped to owning a weapon capable of firing a dart.

He left an inoperable one.

He kept his .22.

If he had a third weapon, IMO he did not dispose of it. He's too cheap, his guns are his soul (such that he has one).

So....where did he hide it? When did he retrieve it?

He was willing to dispatch his wife.

All of his guns?

No way.
