Watching the body cam footage Barry makes himself a suspect right out of the truck.

Something we haven't really talked about but it's been nagging at me. Barry was more interested in wandering around with GD than he was with demanding LE find his wife.

He hops out of the truck and puts on his performance and without demanding to know what's being done. It took me this long to realize it. He asks if they checked the house, but it's in response to something the Deputy said. He doesn't ever ask any member of LE what's being done to find his wife.

I noticed that too. It's as if he accepted that a mountain lion got her and (my opinion only) thought LE would just go with that and quit looking or questioning anything else.

I guess we never really know what we would do or say until this happens, but I like to think I'd want to know if they were searching, where have they looked, I would likely want to go search right then a well.. more people looking the better. I'd want to assume the best possible scenario because in order to comprehend what is happening I think we often decide it must be X vs the worst case that a mountain lion got her.. I'd be saying okay if she wrecked maybe she walked off.. let's search xyz.. he knows that land better than most after all..

There was a lot of discussion about the bike and Suzanne's RR early on. There is not a bike rack on Suzanne's RR.
View attachment 334427

The bike is a high end brand and quite expensive. Considering her purse, Camelbak, and riding sunglasses were in the car it's probable that since Suzanne biked daily, she kept the bike in the back of her RR.

IMO, Barry told the bike lie to explain why his fingerprints were on it and the helmet.

Maybe, I can get my bike out of the back of my vehicle, but if I can ask my husband to do so much the better :) Our bike rack is on my husband's vehicle so I sometimes put mine in the back of my car if it's going to the repair shop or I'm going riding with a GF.... but it's a PIA. So she could have asked him, I don't recall the day she asked him...

I am curious about BM's access to the Cushman residence and if it's possible he ever spent time there prior to the murder.

Totally agree. I'd be curious if the girls were asked if their mom usually kept the camel back/purse, etc in her car. I don't think it's uncommon to leave the purse in the car if you park in a locked garage attached to your house. I wonder if that was common for Suzanne.

I mountain bike and I have found laying my SUV seats flat and putting my bike in the back is SO much easier than putting it on and off the bike rack is. It's such a pain to put it on the rack just to go 15 minutes to ride my bike. When I've traveled with the bike, I use the bike rack, but usually just put it in my vehicle. It is also helpful for errands and not not having it on the car and instead in the car.

I feel like with all we have learned about the week.. the fighting, her "I'm done" text, I just wonder if she would ask him to do that. She is asserting her independence for the first time and I'm not sure she would have wanted his help there or to ask him for that help.

Barry was like a meek little lamb when he returned to Puma Path. From the weak ”lion?” to standing around and quietly discussing with his right hand bud, he did not appear to be a man who needed information. I’ve been in the situation, I was like a maniac demanding answers. I know everyone behaves differently, but hard no on this one. Even when he went into the house, with his,“ is the door open?” What was he worried about? LE would have needed somebody to stay with me as soon as I arrived, to help me understand what had been done and what was being done. Her bike was found locally, and this was Barry’s turf. Why didn’t he try t0 offer insight and go over possibilities? The side eyes were well deserved. Why did they look at Barry right away? Not cause of a bleach smell. Cause of every single thing he said and did that day.

Maybe she uninstalled and reinstalled WhatsApp each time? Seems odd phrasing 'load up' I don't load mine up, it's just there once installed (personally find it annoying and really creeps me out ;) but is convenient) seems she may go to that length to keep her relationship with JL hidden and I don't think Barry mentioned it as an app she used? I remember Snapchat and Facebook but don't recall WhatsApp, not that means anything :p

moo

I think this is very likely! I've used that app when my husband was deployed and I don't remember what it looks like as far as showing past call logs, but I think it shows them and the duration of the call.

Don't try to read too much into it - it was a general comment about potential witnesses and potential credibility issues....we can have a lively discussion when we know who the witnesses actually are. A date was set for prosecution to delivery their witness list and I think the defense's date was 2 weeks later if I can remember.
https://www.fox21news.com/wp-conten...lic-Documents-Oct-15-2021-thru-Nov-5-2021.pdf

Here is the list of Prosecution witnesses.

On page 19 there's an entry for Tracfone Wireless as a witness. I think this mght show Barry indeed had another device, a throw-away phone. Who did he call with it and what was he doing with it? Did SD use it?

A witness on page 19 is 400 tours GI George, but on page 25 there is a George, Jr. Is this 400 tours son?

Seems as though the Prosecution has nailed down every single witness and have left no one for the Defense to call. IANAL so I am not sure how Prosecution/Defense witnesses work insofar as which side some witnesses are on like family, for example.

I didn't get any sense of urgency from BM on the body cam. His level of concern and overall demeanor were just weird, and off, imo.

There are a lot of people on that witness list for the prosecution.

Question about this list. Are we allowed to discuss who is on it? Meaning the people listed and how they are connected to this case? I see a lot of names that have redacted personal info, which I assume is a private person vs a business or a person associated with a business or LE, etc. Many I recognize as people we have discussed before being friends of the family or people that worked for Barry or he did business with, etc. Many I have no clue who they are. Are we allowed to discuss how they could be used in the case?

I see a witness for the Department of Corrections in Cannon City, CO on the list. Anyone have thoughts on what that can be for? Would they have used dogs in the search or is that where Barry was housed?

I don't think so, as they are private people. In a general sense however, there is a mine explorer, a dollar store employee, a phone store employee, and countless whose connection I'm not sure of.

They may have called in search dogs from there early on. Teams came from all around.

Okay, so let's say for example the dollar store employee.. can we discuss why they might be calling that person? Was this a place Barry or Suzanne went during this week or was it a place a camera was located that might have caught video, etc?

Not the OP, but jumping in with what I've seen. BM does have some support on a social media site that I follow. I don't think some have followed this as closely as some of us have, so I don't feel like they are reaching a completely informed opinion. Haven't read the AA, haven't looked at a timeline, etc. One of his staunchest supporters would be familiar to many of us, he has been outspoken in support previously and was still showing support very recently. I would characterize some of the support more along the lines of the prosecution not presenting well vs BM is innocent. At least that was my take on it.

And of course, still some who wouldn't believe it was BM even if they were shown a video.

All MOO
Hilarious! I'm just glad I wasn't swallowing... :p

@Kemug..You need to add a meek little lamb and a weak lion to the zoo. In the food category you need to add Homicide Lasagna. :D

Missing Person - Chaffee County Sheriff
Sheriff personnel called members of Chaffee County Search and Rescue South and North and a search began immediately. The Department of Corrections was contacted and a request was made for tracking dogs to assist. They responded and joined the search. The search continued into the early morning hours with no results.

That won’t be the final witness list. The final list should be significantly shorter.

I believe they also looked into any recent prison releases and sex offenders in the area so DOC on that list of everyone they talked to makes sense.

He was down at the river hacking her Facebook.

I guess I interpreted the AA as BM not spending the night at Puma Path--thus why SM had a fine, quiet night--but the reference could just be to BM's river shenanigans.
