If the state in this case hired consultants who were true crime fans and internet posters for help in a no-body, 1st degree murder case I would actually probably cry.

IMO the victim and her family deserve to have top-notch advocates who know how to try murder cases and get justice for vicitms. That is a very serious and important endeavor in this case...IMO.
You may be right.

But because we are human, we have to have some levity once in awhile. We joke. We smile. Because if we stay serious all we would do is cry because of all these murder cases we follow on Websleuths. Someone said once, we should leave emotions out of this discussion. A life with no emotion is dead. We can argue the point, we can get angry, and we can laugh.

So you would probably cry if a true crime fan was actually a consultant in this case but you can't cry for Suzanne who is being victimized yet again by BM's powerful attorneys?

Oh, ok. That makes sense.

Do you have any solution for the moles who repeatedly appear leaving a pile of earth for us to deal with?
Good question! Moles have small, inconspicuous eyes and ears, according to Wikipedia, so they have trouble seeing and hearing what is right in front of them. Also they do not make good pets, can bite, and carry rabies, so it is probably best if we can just move them on (we don't want them in the zoo, even if we could keep them there.) There are several ways to move them on - one way is to create an unfriendly environment. Another thing we could try is turning the heat up, as they do not like warm temperatures. Moles feel safest under cover, so perhaps we can eliminate their shelter. It's all about not welcoming them.

Yes, actually we do already have rats. They are so cute, but not the male one. He thinks he is, but really he's not, he's pretty nasty underneath.
:D

Right mid afternoon I recall and her last text was around 15-20 minutes before he got home if I recall and she was going to switch from LinkedIn to WA but never connected with JL. I did find that gap odd also since her plan was to continue chatting with JL. If she was going to go take a shower why not just say to JL “heading for the shower talk to you later” she definitely did not plan that to be the end of the conversation. So there is that strange gap before Barry got there.

I think they did connect on WA. I think that is what they were doing when she was quiet and then they finish up because Barry texts "done headed home" and JL then responds to the Linked In message once they finished video sharing on WA. I think it's very possible JL lied about that part. He said based on the message send after he didn't think they did get on WA. I would think the last time you connect with someone you love before they got radio silent would be something you don't have to think too hard about. Either you did or didn't get on WA. I think they both did.

Both the CBI and FBI assisted in this case. Both are more than adequately funded.

I have been involved in thousands of criminal cases. I have dealt with high quality county prosecutors and US attorneys across the U.S.

I have followed this case from day one and have read pretty much everything publically available. I have followed LS and other people who are reporting on this case.

IMO the state has not presented well and that is based on my training and experience...If you ask other legal observers...IMO...they would likely point to the same list of items I mentioned as misteps for the prosecution.

Do you think the state is not prepared/up to par or with the evidence you have seen and reading the AA, do you think there is just not evidence there to take the case to trial?

The only reasonable argument I can think of is they were fighting that night and Barry took off like he had before. I do think he planned to go to Broomfield and work on the wall just not Sunday. He would never admit they were fighting and now he really can’t admit that.

I think this is 100% possible that they fought and he would leave, but that doesn't explain for me why she didn't communicate with anyone after Saturday afternoon. She seemed to express to SO when he was up to no good, running off, and with the wedding the following day, girls out of town (and it seems they communicated daily when apart via at least text), JL messaging her.. she ignores everyone because her and Barry fought? She doesn't care about him anymore and asked for a divorce. I doubt a fight would cause her to go silent and just not message anyone back and then go for a bike ride the next morning and never respond again to anyone.

This goes to his monstrous ego, and lack of self awareness. Just bizarre.

Barry was told that Suzanne confided in friends that sex with him was not pleasurable, then reminded that he put "Sex" as the top reasori on his victimology questionnaire for someone's motive for her disappearance. Barry refuted that by saying, "She had an orgasm every time, so I don't understand that."

But he was also googling how to please a woman.. lol He really is a piece of work.

My guess is that if Suzanne's phone was broken, it was broken when BM threw it wherever he threw it. Or buried it or whatever he did with it. After that last ping.

I don't find that very mysterious at all. Her phone went dark and during BM's many magical mystery tours with many door openings and other truck telematics, the phone was made to disappear.

We don't know this as fact, but I think it's a fairly good conclusion, given what else we do know.
He knew enough to put his own phone in airplane mode. He knew enough to shut SM’s phone off before he dumped it somewhere. The last ping was exactly where he said he turned around on MD morning just before he also dumped her helmet.

Amen.
The quota of moles for our Morphew Zoo has been more than met.

I can’t even….
It is with the utmost respect that I ask this. Anyone considered that what literally set him off that day was she was enjoying a truly pleasurable event? He had a camera on her somewhere where he was monitoring things. Maybe Suzanne indeed had pleasurable sex without him yet within his view unbeknownst to her. He googled it. He wanted to know but he failed to achieve. I hate this because Suzanne was a recovering cancer patient and one of the things chemo steals is desire and pleasure and sometimes renders menopause before justifiable. She was undoubtedly facing menopause within her next 4 or 5 years. Just a thought. I hate it but I love the thought that Suzanne was truly enjoying something in her life especially that given her health and aging circumstances. Please don’t hate me but I’ve wondered for a long time…I have wondered this all along. Don’t kill me please.
I mentioned this early on that a girlfriend who suggested a spy pen might suggest other things. I have a girlfriend who had a husband who shot himself with a gun in front of their house. She asked me to take her shopping before we knew amazon would get it to her safely and privately.

@mom2chloe,
Your opinion matters, and is valid thought.
I truly hope Suzanne was feeling desire and pleasure.
I got you.

Thanks. I don’t want to get banned but feel the need to speak for all the women. I hope she enjoyed everything because we all deserve it. Suzanne deserved it.

Yes! He asked if they found “ the “ phone when they called him to tell him they found the bike.
Again and again BM had the most interest in Suzanne's phone aka "the" phone; that is suspect to me. What could he have planned with her/the phone and this plan failed in some way? IMO, he wanted to prove something to LE, but what exactly?? Were there two phones: her phone, which should have disappeared AND another one (prepaid phone perhaps), which should have been found for some reasons? The found phone (IF found), was it prepared to show an unknown, unrecognizable "suspect" for leading LE into the wrong direction? Did BM plan to have some Snapchat murder/kidnapping in the news for 5 years (Delphi IN girls)? Was he inspired by this True Crime case perhaps?

I'm racking my brains, but without result.

ETA: Did someone disappear "the" phone in BM's order and he doesn't know, where exactly it was disposed of? It seems important to him, that the phone gets found, and he is nervous all the time, because it didn't pop up to this day?

I have been involved in more than a hundred trials, mostly criminal cases. My experiences and neutral observations tell me that the defense is slowly chipping away at the state's case.

If you think the evidence excluded so far does not hurt the state, ask yourself why the state moved to introduce the evidence in the first place? Because it would help develop the theory of their case. Thus, not being able to present that testimony certainly does not help the state and IMO most legal observers would think that it hurts the state's case ..

It should also be noted that the evidentiary rules at trial are different and more restrictive than those at a prelim, Prelim's, like AA's, allow some evidence and testimony (like hearsay) that is not admissible at trial.

The state has to present their case differently during trial and their witnesses will not have the same leeway they had at the prelim.

The only evidence that matters going forward is that which is presented to the jury.....IMO

In your experience with juries in criminal cases and the way the dna is presented today in this case, how would the jury likely view it? I said several months ago that if the jury has to become dna experts this case is in trouble for the prosecution. In general, folks here are not concerned at all about it. I am however and can’t be the only one that would say - what the heck is going on here?

On a side note, I appreciate your contribution to the thread. I personally get stifled by group think and like to view a case from all sides minus heavy emotion or attachment. IMO

I’m happy to see I’m not the only one who is chapped by the false story of the bike ride continuing to be put out there. I watched the clip and the sister sounds like more word salad. Maybe the interview tonight will clear that up and she can be somewhat clear and concise but I’m not holding my breath. Does anyone know if this is the same sister who covered for Barry’s car accident while driving without a license in ice? Same sister who approached LS and told her LS was destroying her family?
I am disgusted that Suzanne’s story continues to be told inaccurately. Is this to poison the potential jury pool or further denigrate Suzanne and her memory? I worry about the girls. If Barry is found guilty or believes he will be based on when the jury returns what happens to them because they will undoubtedly be with him?
I love my siblings and could never imagine any of them murdering their spouse let alone anyone else. I would also keep my mouth shut
as the Moormans have done. Barry’s sister speaking out now smells like a defense tactic. IMO I hope the interview answers something otherwise the entire lot of them should keep their mouths shut. They can’t save Barry this time and excusing him and his lies only makes them look ridiculous and enabling. The fact that he silenced the one woman in his entire life who was done enabling him and stood her ground is not lost on me and I have enormous faith that the jurors will see exactly that.
Why doesn’t any MSM portray Suzanne’s story truthfully? Why isn’t DV a more serious concern and why aren’t people understanding the seriousness of this case and many others? It’s never going away and sweeping it under the rug, making excuses and out right lying are serving no one. Barry has daughters and sisters. His sisters have children and grandchildren.
What is more tragic is the fact that the Moormans, all of them, are in an adversarial position with the daughters. BM not only took Suzanne's life away from his daughters....who have yet to come to terms with that reality....but in the meantime, he has destroyed, intentionally, their heritage with their mother's side of the family. He has stolen much more than Suzanne's life....he has stolen his daughters' lives.....they just haven't learned how to accept it. Hopefully,, over time....they will. Their future in terms of their heritage lies with Suzanne's family....not Barry's.

What does that have to do with his wife missing and him taking a long nap at a hotel two hours away?
It will be interesting to find out if BM's cellphone or the room for that matter, had a wake up alarm set during his room occupancy? It surely appears that he pulled an all-nighter on Saturday night....add to that the emotional adrenaline he spent during the murder and disposal....BM must have been one tired puppy. Any alarm being set during "work hours" would be incriminating.
