Trying to figure out what a gun light is and why Cahill would lie about when he bought it. Sounds like after he lied he went and bought a new one ( I guess for the date on the receipt?) to cover his lie.
JMO
I don’t know if CBI doesn’t allow the use of gun lights but I found an interesting article about Denver PD from 2016.

Gun-mounted flashlights spark concerns in wake of accidental Denver police shootings – The Denver Post
From the link, appears to me that Cahill was attempting to use the excuse where there was already a precedent for unintentional or accidental discharge. Clearly, this December 2021 shooting was a personal matter and had nothing to do with Morphew.

Two of last year’s unintentional shootings were connected to officers’ use of the flashlights, according to the city’s independent police monitor’s annual report. White responded by banning a specific design of flashlight with an on/off switch located on the gun’s grip just below the trigger guard. He cited three specific brands, but said his ban was not limited to those products.

I’m sure this has been discussed but I keep thinking about the needle sheath found in the dryer lint trap. Don’t we all know the defense is going to say it could have been there for days before Suzanne’s disappearance? Maybe it was. How does the state rebut this? TIA
It’s doubtful to me that Suzanne wouldn’t have cleaned out the lint trap after each use because it’s a fire hazard. OTOH if someone wanted to burn the house down leaving a plastic cover in the lint trap might work. IMO

A firefighter would know about the dangers of lint and other objects in the lint trap.

The random sex offender references drive me crazy. There may have been a partial match but they cannot say who that DNA belonged to or how long it had been present. What we do know is that it is not the DNA of the sex offender.
Oh I know. From what I can gather too, it was so weak that it couldn't be uploaded, and necessitated a keyboard search.

According to the prosecution, that DNA evidence is worth even less now than it was during the preliminary hearing.

It's worthless garbage.

Just an observation while scrolling through pics that I noticed in the HIE surveillance photo attached (and I don’t think has been mentioned before):

Is that a hammer, specifically a ball peen hammer, poking out of the bag BM is carrying? It may appear white because of glare. The shape looks like a hammer head to me.

I don’t think it’s out of the norm for a landscaper/volunteer FF to have such tools, but IF it is a hammer, I wonder if it is in one of the bags he threw away that day?

I included a pic of a ball peen hammer plus some examples of different types of hammers for reference.

MOO IMO
He looks lobster red, poor guy. Because of handling too much bleach?

Barry's biggest screw up (besides the act of killing itself) is his negligent timeline. Having upwards of 8 hours or so, where he would otherwise be with Suzanne, and she would have continued with her routine of talking to SO, her daughters, etc....on Saturday afternoon and evening....then, if BM had done his deed in the wee hours when no one would be trying to contact Suzanne and vice versa.....his chances of constructing an alibi for Sunday would be greater...except oops....the daughters would have arrived back home and prevented the deed...so that wouldn't work. Instead....Barry did the deed on Saturday with, as mentioned many times...No Alibi. None. The faux alibi constructed on Sunday was entirely absent Suzanne...and, was scripted with other persons carrying out their role, unwittingly, of course...the Ritters, the daughters, the workers, George Davis, etc....Sunday gave us Pretend Bike Ride, Pretend Workers on the wall, Pretend Barry on the wall with workers, Pretend Shirt Changes, Pretend Prompting of Daughter to call her mom and Pretend Call to the Ritters to look for someone who was no longer on the premises thanks to The Pretender Himself....Barry.
I'd agree. She met her demise shortly after her last communication with JL or last actual cellphone call whichever is later in the day. That gave him time to move her overnight in the cloak of darkness. He wasn't rushed. I don't think he killed her at the house. I think he incapacitated her there. He killed her at the dump site. That kept all the signs of the killing outside of the home. He knew they would eventually check the home and couldn't risk missing some small piece of evidence. I wonder if she was ever back in the house after he got home. Incapacitated her outside and placed her in plastic, then transported before she came too. May have killed her before she came too which wouldn't surprise me because he probably wanted her to know he was killing her. My guess is her body is within 1-2 miles of the home. She was small enough, he could have carried her into the surrounding wilderness to hide her body. May have even had a grave dug ahead of time. The odds of someone actually wondering upon the site would be astronomical. He had explored all the surrounding wilderness and would know where people venture off to and avoided those areas. My guess is due south or southeast of their home.

LE told him not to touch anything. He wanted to show what a good boy he is and that he could follow directions.
BM thinks he deserves an academy award for his acting from the time he stepped out of his truck with his crocodile tears and his shaky fakey voice to his submissive shuffle through his home up to that pathetic fb plea one week later. He doesn’t deserve an Oscar. In fact, he wouldn’t make the cut in the freshman drama club.
Hahaha!
MG enjoyed the next theater performance on Monday morning, when he cried about his wife missing and mountain lions!!, then suddenly changed to a normal matter-of-fact tone. Failed the acting test again, the landscaper. :D

I think the defense is hoping that the context willl help camoflauge his lies. He uses the 'word salad' technique to try and confuse the situation and turn on the charm, hoping to hide the lying.
Yes, there is that one friend who was in the AA that said he lies a lot too :-(

I can't imagine it could have gone one cycle unnoticed, let alone several.

Barry claimed to have last shot deer with a tranquilizer about a month before. This, after originally telling investigators that he had never done that in Colorado.

So one would have to believe Barry did in fact shoot deer, did so with a gun that didn't work, somehow the cap went undiscovered for weeks, he somehow misplaced those antlers, did so when deer don't even have antlers, innocently threw tranquilizer materials away on Mother's Day, and did in fact chase chipmunks around (he remembered it 9 months later).

The prosecution just has to hope the jury isn't made of a bunch of gullible idiots.

If anyone believes Barry, please contact me and I'll tell you about a wonderful business opportunity..."Don't worry, that's a triangle, not a pyramid."
Thanks. It makes sense… I hope prosecutors can drive it home especially since this is a bloodless crime.

I do not believe Barry. No worries.

A hammer would be a very normal tool for a landscaper who builds retaining walls...for leveling blocks, adjusting pavers, knocking off mortar etc.
It is, but why bring it in a plastic bag to the hotel room. Did he throw it out?

So does that mean that the defense is going to somehow try to connect a sex offender’s relative to Suzanne’s disappearance? If you are the relative of a sex offender, is there supposed to be some kind of predisposition? Cause I would imagine there was other unidentified DNA in this case.

Did he have plans to retire that day, remove the light, turn in gun???
Either approved or not approved, okay, I can see someone doing that. Still a big co-hinky-dink.

I don't think any MSM information suggested Cahill was retiring -- but resigning from CBI.

According to an unrelated AA drafted by Cahill in July 2021, he states he's been employed by CBI since 2015. Seems most of his prior LE experience was in the US Army where we know he was away on military duty around March 2021 per his testimony during the PH.

In general, the legal doctrine of employment at-will in Colorado allows an employer or employee to terminate employment at any time, with or without any cause or reason, and without prior notice.

As with most positions -- especially as a state or federal government employee, it's generally in one's best interest to resign versus being terminated for a variety of reasons including being eligible to retain certain benefits such as healthcare. JMO.

So would I, but that hasn't been the pattern in the Colorado cases I've followed.

Colorado is getting good at these no body homicides, though. CBI has got to be putting out fresh guidelines after every case.

This is one thing from the pics that I've puzzled over for quite awhile... (curious enough about that and a few other items from pics that I decided to make my first post...) The ball peen hammer is an interesting possibility. It looks very similar to this white item. But to me it's not exactly the same shape. I also thought it could be an electric toothbrush, but I can't find any image of one that matches this exact shape. It would also be a weird way to hold a toothbrush (over the bristle part).

BUT: What do folks think about this? (IMO it looks like just about a perfect match to the shape, to my eyes):

Jury selection- for those who would like to participate. What Q&A from either Prosecution or Defense would get a potential juror eliminated in this case? This process will be happening soon. IMO

Example: jurors that are victims of domestic abuse? Is that a potential elimination?

What say you?
