I rewatched the body cam video last night, and apologies if this has already been discussed. When the officer and BM were at the door of the home, the officer says (paraphrased) we’ll need to have something of hers that she wore today. They then proceed to enter the home and BM follows the officer down the hallway to Master closet and BM points down to the floor to biking shorts. The officer says something to the effect are those hers, BM mutters an affirmative response. Then as instructed by the officer, BM goes and gets a plastic bag from the kitchen, biking shorts are placed into the bag.

IMO, BM once again tells on himself here i.e., his story is that he last saw SM at 5am in bed sleeping. so he should have led the officer to SM’s pajama’s and/or if she slept in the nude, his response should have been, I don’t know what she wore today. I would assume SM had more than one pair of biking shorts, but say she only had that one pair, is another huge red flag they were on the floor when she supposedly disappeared from a bike ride. Either way, if BM’s story about last seeing her in bed sleeping were true, he should have either given the officer SM’s pajama’s or said he didn’t know which biking outfit she wore that day. And again, if she only had that one pair of biking shorts, they should not have been there!!

IMO, reminds me of the flyer that was put out by him early on shortly after SM ‘disappeared’ which said, “last seen wearing this helmet”. SMDH.

If they didn't have the dog scenting out at the ranch land and video with the storage tub flipped around and an informant...but other than those 3 key pieces it's possible it would have been a similar case and then he, idiot that he was, wrote that hit list when he was in prison during the trial. His defense could do nothing and they couldn't even point the finger because the informant had an airtight alibi for the day of the murder. Other than the informant getting a sweet deal prosecution had that case buttoned down and got the gift at the end of the hit list. OMG.

Agree those are good points on the pointing in the closet although we have no idea of what all was where he pointed. If prosecution focuses on the 9th and the 10th and the telematics and data I think it will strengthen their case. They don't need a motive...but they have one that is super easy to prove - the divorce. So now they need to focus on the facts, the video and the data. They still have some hurdles but it's not clouded by all this other "stuff" going back in time. We'll see what happens tomorrow...to add to the guessing.

When the Officer says Let’s just go straight to something she’s worn today I take it to mean Let’s just do this one today ( today meaning at this time). Like reminding BM that’s all they are allowing him to do at that point in the home.
I could be wrong, but asking for something she’s worn THAT DAY makes no sense since they had questioned BM at the bike scene and made him repeat that he left at 5:00 and she was sound sleep and he didn’t talk to her or wake her and he had not seen her since.

The plastic cover was located by evidence search teams in the dryer, inside of the sheets belonging to REDACTED bed."

May 20, 2020 – Spy Pen found.
"The pen was located in a cloth bin amongst women’s bras. The cloth bin and pen were inside the walk-in closet in the master bedroom, located on the ground level of the residence. Detective Hysjulien located, with the pen, the controller and headphones for playback and a USB cable."

One point which stands out is that Suzanne reached out to JL 5 months after the family relocated to Colorado. That is a very short time frame when you consider the time it takes just to adjust to a new environment, neighbors, community, doctors etc....The state of that marriage must have been reaching critical mass even before the move started. We focus on the condition of this marriage toward the end...but the condition of things shortly after the move must have been deteriorating at breakneck speed...given the course of events.

Agree those are good points on the pointing in the closet although we have no idea of what all was where he pointed. If prosecution focuses on the 9th and the 10th and the telematics and data I think it will strengthen their case. They don't need a motive...but they have one that is super easy to prove - the divorce. So now they need to focus on the facts, the video and the data. They still have some hurdles but it's not clouded by all this other "stuff" going back in time. We'll see what happens tomorrow...to add to the guessing.

I would characterize the motive as the divorce and BM's absolute refusal to concede to it. It was SM's expressed determination to go through with it and the signs that she was already moving on that triggered BM's decision to physically act to prevent the divorce. SM was no longer allowing her intentions to regain her own life to be impacted by BM's denial, dismissiveness, argumentativeness, intimidation, and threats of self-harm. So, he escalated to a form of control that would more effectively serve his ends.

When the Officer says Let’s just go straight to something she’s worn today I take it to mean Let’s just do this one today ( today meaning at this time). Like reminding BM that’s all they are allowing him to do at that point in the home.
I could be wrong, but asking for something she’s worn THAT DAY makes no sense since they had questioned BM at the bike scene and made him repeat that he left at 5:00 and she was sound sleep and he didn’t talk to her or wake her and he had not seen her since.
