Interestingly, at Men's Warehouse, he's not parked at the dumpster. He's parked closer to the light pole. It's puzzling because until I put the GPS numbers in I assumed he was parked right next to the dumpster. So WTF he was doing there for 40 minutes?

You got me thinking about this.

You are the killer, you've made your exit. You've made your initial dumpster runs. You get to the privacy of the hotel which will feel like a safe haven and a psychological break.

Why go and sit in an exposed empty carpark where you might get hassled by police for example?

Possible answers

1. He needed to clean something up to do with the truck that was going to take longer? But then why not do this before the hotel? What seems odd is he still had a lot of stuff to dump even after the RTD and HIE dumpster runs.

2. Did he get spook himself at the hotel somehow, so left the hotel to loiter where no one would no where he was, and wait to see if he had been tumbled?

You'd think you would want to dump the stuff quick and leave

Barry had an entire day to kill in Broomfield....(sorry, time is not a critter we can add to the zoo). While he had some "ruse duties" to perform...they were minimal in terms of time away from the hotel. Barry claimed that he had to get to the job site...but really couldn't be there very long due to the ordinances (discovery would have generated another layer of scrutiny). I think the stop at MW was simply a private "time out" to double check how the day should proceed in "pretending business as usual". I think he was aware that his presence at the motel would be highly scrutinized....and made a pedestrian effort to minimize it. Unfortunately for him, cameras are everywhere. There was simply no where to hide in Broomfield. I think that Barry had scarce opportunities for a "dry run" on Sunday. The deed was done, and many people would soon be involved in the disappearance. I think he rehearsed Sunday as best he could, but had to wing it at the same time. Outsiders looking in are not buying it.

Barry was on a schedule.

He opted to be gone before Suzanne could "wake up."

He took care of plenty of business at or around PP prior to 5am, then drove straightaway to Broomfield.

I think showering was imperative because I think he smelled.

I think his plan was to divest himself of evidence and get a call much earlier in the day.

So he could say he'd been at the wall, sizing it up (so he could direct MG to bring the right equipment -- something he shoulda thoughta) and he'd be right home.

One thing to consider -- at MW in particular, Barry was likely very mindful both of cameras and of people. He may have started to exit his vehicle, only to have to hop back in if another car passed by. Maybe there was more thoroughfare traffic in that lot and he had to wait, try, wait, try several times to have a clear walk.

Maybe he had the most yet to discard. Multiple trips. Or just one or two very clandestine trips, tricky in broad daylight.

Coolers. Chemicals. All the detritus from his garage, workbench, safe, truck that didn't mesh with his honest, hard-working, godly-man persona.

He must also have been plotting his next moves. Choreographing the timing...

It would appear he didn't bring much logic along.

I don't agree this would be a plausible counter.

First this version can't be placed in evidence unless BM testifies. Or if counsel tries to sock puppet it into existence, they are in fact speculating that BM is lying about his own versions and there was a fight with the victim who has gone missing?

This would seem disastrous to me.

I don't think they will offer a version outside of what BM himself claimed. BM won't testify IMO.
And when did this fight happen between Barry and Suzanne? According to Barry, he and Suzanne had a “perfect” evening together. That was his statement to LE.

What fight are you asking about. I think personally they had been arguing for quite a while and perhaps starting even before they moved to Colorado. Grusing questioned Barry about Suzanne's claim that he took off after fights and other things including asking Barry about Suzanne going after him. I think they had physical fights but I don't think it was anything new.

I think the phone and charger are together close to PP.

Logically, he had to have dumped the charger in Broomfield. He couldn't risk them being found together and the most likely scenario is that he tossed the phone along US 50 when he tossed the helmet. He was trying to sell an abduction at that point.

Bear with me. Barry couldn't decide which story to go with.

She ran off: Had a boyfriend, took her charger, left her purse.
Abducted: Bike thrown down the hill, helmet tossed nearly a mile west.
Mountain Lion: He didn't even bother to stage it.

Her charger was by the bed in the same room where Barry caught up to her. It would have made a handy garrote.

No matter which story you go with, the cord can't be near the phone or Barry is implicated.

I think he popped his GPS/SYNC fuse back in at the RTD bus stop that he removed at the PP house before leaving for Broomfield. IMO. There doesn't seem to be any telematics between these two points. If true, the question in my mind is did he put the fuse back in at the RTD bus stop so that LE would have proof he was in Broomfield, or did he pop it back in to also show all of his trash dumps? At both the HIE and MWH, he parks away from the dumpster and walks across the parking lots to dispose of trash. I still think it's possible he wanted the trash dumps seen to lure away interest near their home property.

The telematics are jumpy and lacking info all the way until he returns to PP.

The hottest potato. What was burning the biggest hole in his heart? The thing he needed to get rid of the fastest?

Tranq materials?

If only he got picked up by a bus dash cam and LE has the footage.

What was the most important thing to get rid of first?

From the bank surveillance, McDonald's is where he dumped very small items.

In the first run, Morphew stopped next to a trash can at an RTD bus station for about 90 seconds, and the passenger and driver’s doors on his truck opened, Grusing testified.
Barry Morphew murder case: Husband made five "trash runs" on day wife went missing, FBI agent says

90 seconds are little time for throwing out something. And why did he open BOTH truck doors?? The thing, he perhaps threw out, can't have been so tiny, if he had to open the passenger door to grab it. IMO

MOO IMO
What if BM had an accomplice drive with him to Broomfield and he dropped them off at the bus station? Might explain the reason for that seemingly random and specific stop plus the reason for the passenger door opening.

I wonder what the RTD bus routes and times were that morning? Is there cam footage in those buses to see which passengers boarded the next bus after BM was there?

Yes, but what was he doing during extended absences after they fought? Just the unexplained absences are worrying and they worried Suzanne at the time. Was he doing more than just cooling his heels? Crime commission possibly?

This is why it would be interesting to me if LE had surveillance on BM out and about long after SM went missing. What are his routine habits? Would we see him taking trash to various trash sites, does he just sit in parking lots and stare out the window, sleep in his truck, visit whoever, create busy work? I'm not asking you directly. I thought long before BM was arrested that he found reasons to be away from home and had a job that gave him freedom to do so. IMO

Speaking of BM @ the other woman’s house, I see the Defense filed a Motion to suppress the pole camera video.

Look. Barry would head over to <modsnip> house late at night, and they'd sit cross legged and hold hands in a two person prayer circle (don't ask me how that works), until the wee hours of the morning.

Over and over they'd chant "please God, allow the mountain Lion to release Suzanne." Or something.

The value of the pole camera is these two things:

It shows how fast Barry moved on (no one believes this was a non sexual thing).

It shows that Barry is a liar (for the same reason as above).

<modsnip: Quoted post was removed>

Do we know for certain no physical searches were conducted in Broomfield? I say that because I doubt all of LE searches have been made public. IMO

Suzanne Morphew - Chaffee County Sheriff

Dated 9/29/2020:
  • 130+ Searches conducted (including warrants, which remained sealed at this time)
  • 4,000+ Hours spent by Task Force investigators on the case.

They certainly haven't been made public, and over the course of these hearings we've learned that searches have continued (several mines).

At the very least, it's a safe bet that law enforcement checked those trash receptacles, in the off chance that it hadn't been dumped.

I'm sure they ran dogs near that wall area as well, although I think there's no chance Suzanne is there (Barry didn't even bring his bobcat).

I wouldn't be surprised if a search (or more) was conducted in areas of interest in Indiana even.

Off topic but this might be of interest to some. Look what CO passed last year. Wild. I'm sure dog teams will be faced with this at some point. Interesting. IMO

A much larger man having a physical fight with a small woman. Hmm, not a good look Barry.

BBM I believe the poster was asking you about your last post before this one - your plausible defense counter. IIRC you stated "They had a big fight and he bolted just like he had before".

Lauren Scharf reported that they did not search the HIE in her Broomfield job report. I forget where I read the other. They have the surveillance footage, those are search warrants.

Was Barry aware that his truck had telematics?

Yes. He tried to disable them.
