Absolutely incredible that you feel that way. We are living in 2022 not 1922.

Unfortunately many people still feel this way and never hurts to be reminded of this fact. Suzanne is not to blame for her murder regardless of how anyone else feels about her life’s choices. I am of the belief that whatever she was able to experience late in life made the difference. She felt loved and happy despite her circumstances. I’ve thankfully never fought a cancer battle let alone two but admire her strength and courage. I wish everyone the just desserts she found and her courage to overcome everything she deemed no longer necessary. I applaud her efforts to survive and succeed. I wish this for all of us and our loved ones most especially her (and our) daughters. I only wish she could have succeeded in her efforts.

Many here expressed that, esp'ly early on. As the gen'ly assumed/perceived Morphews-as-a-Perfect Family idea faded, a few posters noted that some Moms would prefer to have a day of solitude instead of traditional MD rituals.

Was SM looking forward to stretches of time online w Jeff L that specific weekend? I imagine a woman in SM's position may have felt relieved, anticipating that BM would not barge in unexpectedly to interrupt her communications w Jeff.

Personally IDK, just thinking aloud. my2ct.

Maybe there was more to the arguments than we know. It usually takes a user to blame another for using. It could have started out innocent and he just needed a few....then a few more. It's so very odd isn't it. moo

I’ve just reread the texts between SM and SO and he was on about having hurt his leg, yet he was on a mountain top. No doubt his pain was always worse than hers.

Quick question. People’s exhibit 61 & 62, there’s a turquoise/blue item that can be seen. It doesn’t look like a helmet to me but is it the helmet or an article of clothing? I freely confess, I have not read every post on each of these many threads .

If I recall correctly, SM told Mrs. Ritter that she was going to be busy working on BM's books that week. IMO, that sounds very probable -- especially as he was applying for government COVID relief dollars. (Evidence of payroll aid previously linked).

ETA: Also, I recall that federal tax returns had a special due date that year -- I think it was May 17.

Am I correct in thinking that we will never see or hear the video of Barry’s LE interviews? That is, unless we actually go to the trial? Will the court release any of the video to the public?

I thought of that too until recalling that BM's SOP was to leave -- most likely to build up his gaslighting arsenal.

My assumption would be, the presumption is that Iris will totally try and totally discredit the
handlers expertise and diminish his credibility She will try and present him as as just a poser with a untrained dog that has no standing.

If the defence calls dog guy then Iris will lead EIC not X

EIC has special rules, including not being able to lead the witness.

I am not sure calling a witness to discredit/diminish him is quite the winning strategy some believe

-Did #BarryMorphew ever call 911?
-Did he report #SuzanneMorphew missing to LE?
-Did he help in any LE-led searches?

A friend of Suzanne's, Sheila, said while she'd heard from one of the daughters that Barry had described May 9 as a "perfect night," she knew the couple hadn't had a "perfect night in a year and a half."

Harris said at one point, Barry put a gun to Suzanne's head and asked, "Is this what you want?" He had also pinned her to the bed. She threatened to call police, Harris said. He added Barry was worried about how others saw their marriage & wanted "to come out looking good."

Suzanne and Jeff also messaged via LinkedIn, as we learned earlier in this hearing. The last LinkedIn message from Suzanne to him came at 2:07 p.m. May 9, Nielsen said. About 35 min later, Barry arrived home.

The last text Jeff Libler sent to Suzanne was on May 9: "My gang is home." He told Harris he wanted to support Suzanne being on her own, whether they ended up together or not.

Graham is testifying to 3 key places in the Morphew home which were searched by law enforcement: daughter Mallory's bedrm where sheets had been removed & were found in dryer, the garage, which held the safe with tranquilizer darts & laundry room where the dart sheath was found.

Nielsen brings up photo of a tranquilizer dart cap found in the dryer on May 19. Barry said he was not sure how long it had been there and it had nothing to do with him. Court briefly discussed that calling it a tranquilizer dart "cap," wasn't totally accurate.

Some empty vessels of the darts were found in the garage. A tranquilizer gun also in the garage did not work. There were no other darts found inside/outside the Morphew home, Nielsen said.

Regarding the trash runs, DA Lindsey confirms the "cap" found in the dryer was a needle sheath. When asked about the dart, Barry said he shoots deer from his garage/breezeway. He said he last used it April 2020.

Regarding the needle sheath in the dryer, Barry told Grusing: "It could have been in the wash but it's got nothing to do with me... But see, I hate that because you know that makes me look bad. But if it's leaking from Chaffee Co., it's no wonder ppl in this town hate me."

DA Mark Hurlbert now doing redirect. Hurlbert confirms with Graham that men's khaki shorts and other clothing were found in the dryer. It matches what Barry was seen wearing May 9 on surveillance video. We're now on a break.

Confirming that BM pointed a gun at his own head, and not SM's head,

(I believe it was stated incorrectly during the hearing and soon corrected but not before several reporters tweeted the incorrect version).

Some random thoughts and observations.

I'm in the camp that if BM used the tranquilizer, it wasn't in the gun. My thoughts are that he just grabbed it and stabbed her with it.

@BDAJAG, I've wondered from the get-go where that ring is. We had some lively speculation on previous threads, IIRC and discussions about the serial number that was likely on the stone. Agree that the ring is not with Suzanne. Really curious as to her habits, wearing it. It's not the type of ring you're going to wear doing housework, or bathing, or say, taking a bike ride, esp if she wore gloves. I've wondered if perhaps the ring took a one way trip to MX when they went on their hols.

Which is hopefully BM's last sunny beachy holiday.
