I fear there's a segment that feels Barry is going to heroic measures to keep his remaining family together, in the face of tumult.
Further, I think they think that if Suzanne had simply remembered her place, laid off the drugs (prescribed medications, People!) and the booze (hard core IPAs) and the men (JL, miscellaneous rogue offenders with dropped charges who were never near her or her vehicle), repented of her ballsy ways and resumed her lovingness and loyalty to Barry, while questioning nothing and being grateful to receive an allowance out of their joint monies and her inheritance (which she was strong-armed into comingling), stay out of the garage and adulate Barry without pause, none of this would've happened. Pure, unadulterated victim-blaming.
It's almost like they think that Suzanne got herself in the water. So her fault if she drowned.
But...
Maybe Suzanne was done with dying inside and wanted her life, her self back.
You know, the right to vote for herself, to have a vote in how the rest of her life would go.
Somebody stole that from her.
Me, I'm all done with "poor Barry.'
He's proven himself capable of deception, misdirection, abuse. His actions confirm Suzanne's experience.
There's no poor Barry.
I have wondered, if she'd gotten his charge reduced to Murder 2, if Iris was angling to present Barry as a soft, godly, hapless hen-pecked husband...
And next how Suzanne got herself in the mineshaft...
That's just not right.
Suzanne deserves better.
She deserves the truth.
The world needed Suzanne. To hear her story of resilience, as a woman and as a mother, as a survivor of cancer and DV.
I hope that one day her voice is resurrected --
If you ignore the words but listen to the GMA voices, Suzanne's in there.
It just might take time.
And courage.
When the dust settles, I hope Suzanne can be remembered for her courage.
