Why should the suit be dropped?
I would like to be, but the wrongs alleged would remain.
A civil suit by BM filed on 5/2/2023 alleges his civil rights were violated by the investigation and prosecution team, and the only remedy for this " alleged wrong" is to award him the sum of $15M.
How does this request by a man I (we) believe is a wife killer, make any "alleged wrong" by the investigation/prosecution team, "right?"
When does rewarding an alleged wife killer, still subject to legally being recharged for murder, prevail over the civil rights and common and public sensibilities of all who followed this case, in addition to the named defendants?
Specific to the prosecution team, I think it's important to recognize that the Court overseeing BM's prosecution never ever charged them with breaking the law. The allegations by the defense have all been deemed minus intent.
I'm reminded of Letecia Stauch's trial where an expert witness failed to turn over discovery not 3 days before the trial, but 3 days before she testified, and still she was allowed to testify in Court.
There were no courtroom theatrics or threats of sanctions for discovery violations. And not because sanctions were not warranted but because of the professionalism, respect, and courtesy extended by all parties to each other, including the Court, where Hon Judge Gregory Werner presided over the case.
Fortunately, in practice, what we witnessed in the 11th Judicial District Court and the prosecution of BM is far from the norm. MOO
