Last week, shortly after SM's remains were reported recovered, IE issued two statements to the media on the same day.

In her second statement sent to MSM linked below, not only did IE double down about her innocent, persecuted, client being wrongfully re-accused, but she also went "classic IE" by intentionally putting out false, self-serving information to the public --alleging a second body was found last weekend in Saguache County, and promising authorities would be issuing details the next day.

IMO, this is a perfect example of IE manipulating the details of an investigation and not unlike what we witnessed IE pull off in Court -- especially with Judge Lama. IMO, it's also what she does in the 185-page Civil Rights Complaint BM filed against 26 defendants who are mostly from Chaffee County.

Sept 28, 2023

[..]

The statement released on Thursday by EyTan Law Firm on behalf of Barry Morphew :

“The first and most important focus should be that the Morphew’s just learned that they lost their beautiful mother and wife after she disappeared 3 ½ years ago.

What appears to be the overriding focus is a finger pointing right back where it started 3 ½ years ago: a movement to blindly re-accuse Barry for Suzanne’s death.

[..]

Here are the facts.

[..]

What needs to be done instead of pointing fingers at Barry Morphew, is asking the officials about the number of missing people and number of human remains that have been recovered in or from Saguache County in the recent past.

Whatever happened to Krystal Reisinger, Edna Quintana, Suzanne, the man whose remains were found by Saguache County Sheriff’s office in the foothills on July 26, 2023, or the remains of the person found in another area in Saguache County last weekend (more info to come from authorities tomorrow). What were the circumstances of their disappearances, what is cause and manner of death of the remains found in the area, what happened to them, are they looking for other remains in this area?

The public should demand answers about these five people who suspiciously went missing or were found dead in this area.

_______________________________________

To be clear, there's been no confirmation whatsoever that remains of another person were found last weekend in Saguache County, just as there was NO information the next day from authorities!

Some may recall that on the same day as IE's news releases, the Denver Gazette (Carol McKinley) first reported there was a second body before deleting the statement from their report hours later. And it wouldn't be the first time McKinley didn't fact-check IE as her source!

I dunno.... It just does my head in that this behavior goes unchecked, and that IE is not held accountable. JMO o_O
I also find my head imploding when listening to the press releases from Mr. Morphew’s attorney. I can only cling precariously to my sanity by constantly reminding myself that it is their job to raise any and all, even remotely possible (or in some cases ludicrous) explanations, that dispute the Prosecutor’s claims of guilt. In most cases, they don’t have any stake in the truth per se, but simply seek to provide a required robust defense (even if they likely believe their client is guilty).

Given the circumstantial evidence pointing to Mr. Morphew, about the only defense available will be to distract a jury and obfuscate the State’s case, not refute that case.

In other words, perpetual gaslighting.

Suggesting that “What needs to be done instead of pointing fingers at Barry Morphew, is asking the officials about the number of missing people and number of human remains that have been recovered in or from Saguache County in the recent past.” is classic misdirection.

She asks rhetorically, “Whatever happened to Krystal Reisinger, Edna Quintana, Suzanne, the man whose remains were found by Saguache County Sheriff’s office in the foothills on July 26, 2023, or the remains of the person found in another area in Saguache County last weekend (more info to come from authorities tomorrow). What were the circumstances of their disappearances, what is cause and manner of death of the remains found in the area, what happened to them, are they looking for other remains in this area?”

Well, since you asked……….other than Suzanne, for whom there is a mountain of evidence pointing to Mr. Morphew (in addition to said fingers), the only other body found recently was dumped (apparently not buried) which is typical of a stranger/serial killer. Suzanne was buried, which is typical of a killer known to the victim. That body was found about 20 miles from Moffat and was of a man who left a bar near Denver with a group of strangers in April 2023. Ignoring the misreported finding of other remains that weekend, the other two named persons are missing -- Ms. Reisinger (a well-publicized case, missing from Crestone since 2016 and last communicating with a local man with a criminal history of drugs and assault) and Ms. Quintana (missing since May 2023 but who was reportedly “not involved with a very good group” when she vanished).

So, umm, I guess these circumstances firmly establish Mr. Morphew’s innocence (consider yourselves gaslit).

I thought it was Life Coach. It was on her LinkedIn. She was reading books about becoming a Life Coach (based on her faith and her surviving cancer) and seemed to be reaching out to LinkedIn resources based on that interest. She had quite a few self-help books recommended as well. Not sure if that LInkedIn is still up. But I bet someone here kept screen shots.

But if the AA says that JL says "Certified Fitness Trainer," maybe that is indeed what she was thinking of doing. Not sure if she ever got certified, as I don't recall that being on her recent LinkedIn. At any rate, Suzanne was developing a career for herself.

Suzanne’s LinkedIn.

Suzanne’s activity page and the books she “liked.” There’s even a job posting in there in Colorado Springs she “liked.”

She’s a spin meister. That’s it. Very expensive one too.
That she is! Sucks for Barry :).

In a strange way, I actually think the dismissal has worked in the prosecution’s favour in a number of ways. For one, IE’s tactics are well understood now. The devil you know……. They are now better equipped to deal with her. The DNA has become a moot point. Cahill, gone. Expert witnesses will testify. Suzanne’s remains found. Very much hoping something will come of the forensics. A cherry on top!

I don’t for a minute think finding Suzanne’s remains in another location than what they originally believed is an insurmountable hurdle. Barry had plenty of time. We may not know what vehicle he used but everything else that is known is plenty, never mind what we are not privy too. As I said before, as long winded as the AA was, some of it unnecessary, there’s more. IE knows what we don’t and I suspect that’s why she needs to make these attacks. It’s all she has. It may take a while to pull it all together, but Barry’s done. Bye, Bye Barry!

Hi All, a few pics of site Suzanne was supposedly found at. I didn't feel i should drive in. This was Saturday. Did not see any signs of LE activity.
Thank you for the pics @NoSI

i also think if he is charged and if she drops the civil suit, she will ask him to find another lawyer. The stakes are up and she will want a hefty fee.

BIB - exactly.

We know from the prelim that the case against BM was very strong, but in the context of a no body case - which are difficult at best.

As a case with a body - well, its a different ball game. This is a very strong murder case because the killer has no alibi, and has been caught staging the crime.

This is why she needed the case dismissed with prejudice, or to get her civil suit through before SM turned up.

Yes for sure!

I didn't mean for my previous response to be directed AT you. I admit I have a rather distasteful view of Barry and so I think my response was more the reaction to him introducing this thing to her, when it's my view that he had very little interest in her outside of what he claimed was the only thing men wanted.. sex. Every interview he did showed how little he thought of her despite him saying he loved her, none of his actions pointed that way and all those lies...

This was a new hobby and I am remembering something about her bike having just been in the repair shop that week prior.. I look to see where I saw that, but maybe someone else here recalls where that was said?? I believe she had just gotten it back and I'm even remembering something about Barry saying he took it out of her car for her because she asked him to. That just felt like more of a cover for why his fingerprints might be on that bike when found. She usually didn't ride at their house, she took the bike to other trails that were easier/beginner trails.
Suzanne documents the bike's chain broke on April 20, 2020.

Dick Wolf's Impossible "Law & Order" Legacy.
....
I'm trying to imagine.... testing all the DNA that would be found at Puma Path....
Are people really expecting every single person that's ever been at a locale to be inspected and matched to DNA found at that locale?....
snipped for focus @10ofRods
Yes, absolutely, positively, some ppl are expecting that.

Sad that TV, movies, etc. give ppl such unrealistic ideas about US justice system.

Agreed! I just cannot get over how extraordinarily providential the discovery of her remains has been. I’m almost speechless, but not quite :).

This post made me day! Thanks from all of us for this information. And if IE reads here, it may save her from blabbering on about the same person killing and dumping them in the boneyard, except Suzanne wasn’t dumped. Barry buried her there.

Left a note for you.

Someone asked if Barry had a burner phone. It's highly possible. This phone traces back to Barry first using it Nov 2019. Accessing the phone since May 5 - May 12:

Recalling statements the former boyfriend MH gave to LE captured on LE bodycam about SM's bike clothing by referencing her Instagram.

I also think SM's quoted posts in evidence support that SM's riding habits were limited to beginner trail locations and not where her bike was staged.

In other words, I'm sure there are no Instagram posts from the staged trail.

I'm still having this nagging feeling that she was moved from her original location to this one after time had passed. JMO
I think so too....

Unfortunately the defence needs the bike ride to be real!

Yep.

Unless something in that grave site suggests innocence I don’t see what defence BM has.

Good one. I don’t think so.

Good one. I don’t think so.

The defence would be so much better off without the bike.

Staging is always the dumbest thing you can do. Well after murder.
