Why Hinky Meters Sounded?
LE's hinky meter sounded more quickly and loudly than typical Man-Reports-Wife-Missing case. Why? Why seemingly immediately after that afternoon/eve. of report to LE?
A fact known to someone participating in responding to MisPers call & early search? Or even gen'ly known to some ppl in BM's orbit, e.g., gym members, his business' independent contractors, or ___, who passed the word to LE? Maybe ---
1. BM living separately, not PP, no known extra marital relationship.
2. BM living separately, not PP, w one known extramarital relationship.
3. BM living separately, not PP, multiple known extramarital relationships.
4. BM told ___?
5. Or __?
What factor could trigger hinky meters so quickly, anyone?

Perhaps Barry was known to the volunteer FF’s and the gym jocks as being a braggart pompous ass that bragged about his womanizing. When word got out his wife was missing several calls may have gone into LE right away. IMO a guy like Barry does not filter into an established group of men easily.
Adding my amateur profile of BM ! A womanizer usually has to talk about his conquests.

I’m confused about the subject of Suzanne’s fear. On the Inside Edition interview, she said that Suzanne was scared, but on The Interview Room she says Suzanne was not scared. This is concerning. The defense puts her on the stand, replays these interviews and then calls her unreliable. I suppose the written content of the text is what really matters.

I’d have to listen to CM’s interview again, but perhaps the discussion was more about Suzanne not being afraid to make the necessary changes in her life, to leave Barry and live a more honest, transparent life, content with what she could afford whereas in the Inside Edition interview MM was asked if Suzanne was afraid of Barry specifically. Just a thought.

Melinda's Contradictory Stmts???
Someone posted (sorry forgot who) that in one interview SM's sister said she was afraid of BM (or was scared of BM? my paraphrasing); but in another interview, sister said SM said she was not afraid of BM. Poster had concerns about def team bringing out seeming contradiction w sister on cross exam.
Altho I recall stmts to same effect, it could be explained a couple ways.

1. Phrasing of question. What did interviewer specifically ask? About phys harm from BM? About financial future for them cont'ing as a couple/family? Or fin. future for herself after? Afraid after separation/divorce, that BM would refuse to pay for college/uni ed. for younger dau? SM could be afraid of all/none. Or not afraid of one or some.
2. Form of interview.
For ex, on one livestream podcast, sister might give one answer, but on a recorded interview for tv newscast (w opportunity or requirement to edit for length/clarity/what-ev), sister might give other answer. W. a recorded & edited clip, some stmts are left on the editing room floor.*
At trial on redirect exam of sister, prosecutor could ask whether the entire interview w reporter was aired, whether some of her stmts to that reporter had been omitted, etc. IOW, prosecutor could rehabilitate her credibility on this issue.

Bbm ^ as we used to say at a recording studio where college-age al66pine worked pt-time, back in the good old days (?), when the radio ad was recorded on a reel-to-reel master tape, w audio editing done by hand w a razor blade & special adhesive tape, thus leaving tape scraps on editing room floor. From master reel, the radio ad was duplicated onto cassette tapes, which were snail-mailed to each radio station being paid to air it.
Once Thomas Edison & Guglielmo Marconi dropped in to see & listen to their new inventions in use. <--- j/k about this, but tape on editing room floor was actually a thing decades ago.

In the Inside Edition clip at :42 the reporter says that Melinda said that SM had expressed concern for her safety in the past. I took this part of the interview to mean that SM's concern may not necessarily have been expressed at the time of the text, but rather earlier on. JMO.

I know what you mean, the wording makes it unclear exactly when, during what time period, Suzanne was scared. And from the radio interview, Melinda states that Suzanne implied that she had concerns about her safety. An “implication” of fear is also somewhat unclear.

To be clear, there's never been any evidence that SM/BM ever lived apart in Colorado. This was first speculated only because the family spokesperson would not confirm where SM lived when she was first reported missing.

I agree, this was always simply speculation.

I never thought that they were not living together. This is my speculation; however, I really think that the hesitancy has to do more with keeping information (that Barry wanted hidden) out of the public eye.

I mean, who told Barry's nephew to start a crowd funding account to raise money? Who told Barry's nephew to identify himself as Suzanne's nephew and not to mention her husband's name or the fact that he was in fact the nephew of Barry and not Suzanne?

Also, how would it go over if that same person told the media that they lived in a $1.6 million home with another $1 million home in Indiana. Yet, they felt a need to ask the public at large for money...

With those facts, I would be hesitant to say where the missing woman lived, too. In fact, you'd think that they would be embarrassed to set up a fund and not use it to search for Suzanne. I would love to know if Andy and his searchers were reimbursed from these funds. If I were a betting person, I would bet that they were not.

As I was catching up, while reading I was formulating a post in my head about this, then saw your post. You, @Synergizer Bunny wrote exactly what I wanted to say.

I too would be hesitant in the nephew’s place.
His uncle wanted to be referred to as “the husband” and now there he was asked the question about their living arrangement. Surely his uncle who wouldn’t even wanted to be named would not want other private things disclosed, so he fumbled this answer. I don’t think there was any mystery. He wasn’t prepared for a question like this, he only wanted to talk about Suzanne’s disappearance.

I think people would rather see it returned to MM if she decides she'd like to have it, rather than a stranger; and that's probably all it is.
As far as the person who mentioned it, CD, he may have misspoken.
That's how it seems.

Overriding everything else, imo, is a need for justice for Suzanne and it's all that truly matters.
The waiting for the AA is wearying, and the upcoming trial has to be so hard for all who loved this innocent lady.
Murder is the ultimate theft -- imo -- as there's no time to say goodbye to your loved ones and the passing of the innocent one's life is in fear and pain ; and robbed of the life you still had left to live !
I still hope it was so swift that Suzanne never felt it coming.

Yes, I had the impression she may have been talking about some time in the past, and not necessarily during the text conversation, that Suzanne said she was afraid. She may have seen the same look in Barry's eyes that JS said he saw, a look of evil, when he got angry. I've said this before but I think BM was very intimidating when he wanted to be. It can be a form of control.

I don't think Suzanne told her sister that she feared for her life in the text conversation, otherwise I doubt Melinda would have said she would pray on it and get back to her.

If she was beginning to open up about the problems in her marriage, she may have told her of her plans to confront Barry, and was afraid of what his reaction might be.

I think this is probably why MM was so concerned when Suzanne went missing, and why her friend was worried when Suzanne didn't get back to her. They may have known Suzanne was planning to confront Barry soon.

I don't think Suzanne, her sister, or her friend ever considered that she would end up murdered that weekend. IMO

I bet I already posted it, but I remember after KB disappeared, her mother said, in the interview, about KB and PF “they are good, they are loving”. By that time, having very severe suspicions about PF.
What I want to say - sometimes what witnesses say to public might be very different from what they say to LE.

I wonder whether BM normally buried animal carcasses somewhere or took them to the landfill. There must have been a lot of them over the years.

He said they would message each other through FB once in a while, but she didn't really discuss her marriage with him. Suzanne may have been closer with her sister and more likely to confide in her.

It was Andy and Gene who said communication was almost nonexistent after they moved.

I also think Suzanne still loved Barry and wanted to work out their problems, at least up to a certain point. That doesn't mean they didn't get into arguments over the years. Imo
