I haven't watched any of the recent stuff, but he also doesn't appear to be very knowledgeable about the pre-trial legal maneuverings IMO. Lots of misinterpretation of the complaint, inaccurate speculation about how the defense attorneys are being paid, etc. That's not very surprising, pre-trial motions and the like aren't really part of a detective's job description. But I think people take his opinion more seriously because of his LE background, so I wish he'd put some more effort into being accurate and fact-checking some of his speculation in those areas.I like CM, and I get information and law enforcement perspective from his podcast, but like others I am critical of some of his themes: (1) oversimplifying, disparaging, undermining, and otherwise misrepresenting the laws and processes that protect all of us from arbitrary government action; and (2) disparaging and misrepresenting the efforts of defense counsel as less than honest, devoid of integrity, a mere game doing whatever it takes to absolve their guilty client of responsibility.
I listen and appreciate, but with a critical ear that accounts for his biases and prejudices - which BTW are right out there for everyone to see.
For analysis of the motions, the Denver defense attorney that got linked a while ago seems much more informed. Which isn't surprising since that's his job.
