So I think this is the window Suzanne was disposed of. This probably would be the 3 hour time period Andy was referencing.

The truck reboot would have wiped all the data from the system prior to reboot. Another reboot would show, and there’s no tracking for his vehicle.

So he puts phone on airplane, travels to dump site, and returns and wipes vehicle tracking.

He says this was from 2:44 to 2:47. Grusing says at 2:47 #BarryMorphew phone goes into airplane mode. At 5:30pm Barry truck had a system reboot. Agent says no one could figure out why this happened or what caused it. @KKTV11News

For all that yesterday lacked, today made up for it in spades.

The timeline is coming into focus, and it’s not a pretty picture.

Barry admitting to throwing away “tranquilizer material,” must have been because he was backed into a corner.

There’s probably something that he can’t deny. Maybe it was the cap, or maybe there is something more (like purchase records).

Can’t wait for part 2.
I can’t believe he tranqued her. But then again, he’s a hunter. Talk about premeditation. He didn’t want blood evidence at the scene, or signs of a struggle. So he used what he does best, his hunting skills to subdue her without her even knowing it was coming. Then on to murder.

You’re right! It was cold that night. I read just above freezing. He would need a jacket, and makes sense he threw it away afterwards.
Im guessing he planted a tree over her body. :(
I think so too. It would cover up any ground settling later and deter animals. MOO.

Still catching up, so maybe there's more evidence now, but I guess the 'deliberation' is based primarily on the tranquilizer gun? Obviously even if he shot her with the tranquilizer gun in a fit of rage, the time between her being tranquilized and being killed would be enough for deliberation. I wonder if there's more evidence to support tranquilization than just the cap being found?

The airplane mode and the truck power being reset also suggest pre-planning, but they could also be spur of the moment cover up by someone who had knowledge of those things.

Way different energy today... Stressed defense lawyers... MOO.
And BM & daughters energy as these trash dumps were revealed?

  • #686
? they had plenty of turn around space. Who backs up nearly 100' on purpose?

Maybe to connect the trailer? (can't remember if he took the Bobcat to Broomfield)

How the heck was there even access to a tranq? Yikes. My mind is spinning.

Maybe he had access to them relating to volunteer firefighter duties, which might include dealing with lions or bears or dogs?

ETA: others have mentioned the darts can also just be bought, so that seems more likely

All MOO

Bus station 2 times???
Both doors open at Hotel???
I hope they have evidence of who helped him!!! IMO
I think he was removing items from both sides of the truck. I don’t think anyone helped him.

No way. I’m convinced he disposed of her body the night before, during the period of time his phone was on airplane mode. He must have had a spot already picked out, as he was seemingly following a playbook (phone on airplane, truck reboot).

There was a stunning level of planning here. Fortunately plans frequently go awry, and he didn’t put as much thought into his alibi as phase 1 (murder, disposal).

Anecdotally, that seems to be pretty common.
ITTA- at first I thought all of the garbage stops could have been body parts (think Jennifer Dulos). But investigators testified NO blood was found, so I think he buried her somewhere. And as for the planning- I think BM relished in the planning- he loved the “hunt”. Especially given he was listening to FF in March and SM texted him on May 6th that she was done with the marriage, and had indicated that for sometime before. IMHOO

If this guy is so smart, why didn't he turn off his phone and truck tracking during this?

He can't just turn it off while the truck is running. He can only reset the module by disconnecting it (which will be recorded by the module). So I am guessing he didn't think that constant resetting/disconnecting the motherboard of his truck was a prudent thing to do, under the circumstances.

It's already bad that he did it once (perhaps to erase the section where he disposes of Suzanne?)

I really, really hope I'm wrong, but what if he incapacitated, drove her to a steep area/cliff side and just threw her down, leaving her to die alone. No bullet left to trace back to him, injuries "naturally sustained" in the fall that can't be blamed on him plus the added cruelty of letting her die slowly out in the elements. I suspect he wanted to actually physically kill her and did so either by strangling her or shooting her, but with the tranquilizer cap found, I'm not fully committed to that theory any longer.

Guess that's why he mentioned Mountain lions .. so even in the case her body was found he won't be held responsible

  • #693
Why can't they find her if she has to be within a couple of hours drive?!

That could be a 150 miles of searching in the wilderness.

  • #694
That's usually how it works, so I can't imagine all this has come as a shock to the defense.

I think it's one thing to read it and another thing to have to sit back and watch someone walk through your dumb client doing stupid things one by one where you know you don't have a good or reasonable explanation.

  • #695
I just checked- you can buy them online to fire out a .22 with a blank cartridge

Are the darts prefilled with a tranquilizer?
How is that even legal?

Fairly certain that one cannot claim cash was stolen from a combination locked safe as a loss on income taxes filings. There's no way to prove it was ever there.

I personally removed all of the cash in our mutually held safe deposit bank when I left the marriage. It was not once brought up in the two day divorce court hearing bc the Ex didn't want the IRS to know he was secreting cash from them.

$70k wouldn't have lasted Suzanne v long, no matter where she intended to travel. I'll believe the cash was missing only if it matches up with Suzanne's green dot acct.
If it were ever there in the first place. I suspect he wanted LE to think Suzanne took it and took off.
I think I just heard a few hundred "WELL DUH!"s.

Okay - now I'm 4 pages behind - there were 6 TRASH RUNS! Here's the timeline I have so far.

On May 9, 2020 - The telematics of his truck & phone were correlating with what Morphew was saying.
He went to Tail winds property around 11am then went home around 11:30am to eat veggie soup with Suzanne. Mrphew allegedly left around 1:30pm makes a few calls checks out a job at Kim Gyms in Salida.
Then returned home around 2:44pm as she was sunbathing & sending photos of herself to her lover, Jeff Libler. At 2:11pm Suzanne told JL to get on What's Up App. She messaged him on LinkedIn. Exhibit #59: The photo is shown in the courtroom, Suzanne smiling.
Truck GPS coordinates show Barry's truck goes into park at 2:43:59. Phone coordinates show he walks around the house. You can hear a pin drop in the courtroom as tension is high. Agent Grusing asked what he was doing outside. Morphew responded, "I shoot chipmunks. I have shot 85 chipmunks."
At 2:47pm, BM's phone goes into airplane mode. Suzanne's phone is getting messages from her lover, Libler asking about the weather. meanwhile, BM says he was moving around the house shooting chipmunks. Former FBI agent reveals they found a tranquilizer dart cap in the dryer of the Morphew's house. He also asked Morphew about what gun he used. He said a 22.
His truck doesn't move from 2:44pm until 4:44pm on May 9.
At 4:44pm Morphew's truck door opens & closes.
At 5:33pm the truck power was disconnected & system rebooted.
At 9:25pm the gear shift goes from park to reverse & moves backward in the driveway 95 feet at the Morphew home off of Puma Path in Maysville, CO.
At 10:17pm on May 9, Morphew's phone is taken off of Airplane mode & it was at the home.
On May 10, 2020 At 3:25am Barry's truck doors were open & closed. The phone moved toward where the bike was found.
Suzanne's phone was last pinged around 4:22am on May 10th in an area that had hard to reach signal.
At 4:31am Morphew's phone went into airplane mode. His phone came back online as he is heading toward Broomfield, CO.
Around 5:37am he was heading toward Buena Vista.
At 5:38am Morphew texted his mother, Shirley Happy Mother's Day. before texting Suzanne at 6:10am (or 6:56am- 2 different times were given). "You up? Happy Mother's Day. I love you."
At 8:10am he stopped at an RTD Bus stop in Broomfield off of HWY 36. He allegedly told Grusing he was throwing something away in the trash. Grusing says this wasn't the first stop at the trash can. TRASH RUN #1: Morphew's truck passenger & driver's doors open, according to data it took him two minutes to throw something away that was a few feet away from his truck. The state has pulled up a google image of the bus stop in Broomfield.
When Morphew allegedly arrived at the Holiday Inn Express in Broomfield, he parked on the south side. Doors open & close again. He opened someone would come in & out so he could get a free breakfast at the hotel. Another google image is being shown where Morphew parked. Attorney Neilsen is asking for a copy of the image, the State is saying the images are in discovery. The Judge's secretary is running off to make a copy. TRASH RUN #2: When Morphew first arrived to the hotel he had another trash run. Barry said he did, but didn't remember what he threw away. There is no video to be collected on the southside of the hotel.
At 8:25am Morphew walked into the hotel & went into his room around 8:38am. Another google map is shown of where he parked & checked into the hotel. Showed a screenshot of Barry walking into the hotel. Morphew has something in his hand. Something small, Agent Grusing couldn't decide what it was. His next action is carrying multiple items to his room. Hiking boots, a teal-covered piece of clothing, a darker black piece of clothing & a light blue bag.
At 8:41am Morphew texts Suzanne :I have made it to Broomfield". He never called. Morphew stayed in his room for an hour, he is not wearing a long sleeve shirt. He is now wearing a black v-neck shirt, a trash bag, hiking boots. Morphew said that there were holes in the boots but the laces were good so he wanted to take them to the room & remove the laces & then trash the boots. Photos of this from the hotel surveillance video are shown.
At 9:12am Grusing says Morphew drives by the worksite he is supposed to be working at in Broomfield. He then goes to a McDonalds in Broomfield. He is caught throwing more things in a trashcan. This is "trash-run" 3. He is seen pushing trash down into the trash can with both hands, according to the surveillance video. Agent Grusing asked Morphew what he threw away & he couldn't remember. He then went to a carwash to clean his windshield & then a Men's Wearhouse parking lot. TRASH RUN #4: He spent the most time at this trash run at Men's Wearhouse 40 minutes. His truck data opened & closed. This is in Broomfield.
TRASH RUN #5: FBI has video of. Morphew mentioned to investigators he had thrown away tranquilizer material. That is the only thing he would say that he threw away.
No time given: Morphew returned back to the hotel with a large notebook with papers that are messy. Then left the hotel 20 minutes later with the notebook in hand with papers neat in hand. He also has changed shirts into a grey t-shirt. Went to the Broomfield WALL & did 11-15 minutes of work. Removed blocks from the retaining wall. This job was for Garrett Construction. Grusing said you can't work on Sunday's in Broomfield because that is against city code. It looks like he spent about 15-20 minutes there.
At 12:06pm Morphew calls his daughter, MM (oldest).
At 3:30pm he texted Suzanne to call him.
At 5:15pm he got a call from Mr. Ritter. Neighbor about Suzanne missing.
At 12:27pm Morphew is seen on hotel surveillance moving two bags to a dumpster. Throwing away a bag that you can see camo coat & a tree container. Exhibit 50: A different angle of a surveillance camera. Shows Morphew carrying the items to the dumpster. "TRASH RUN #6". He is seen walking with his hands in his pockets with his head down as he walks away from the dumpster.
At 12:42pm until 5:55pm Morphew does not leave his hotel room in Broomfield. This doesn't match the statements he gave investigators early in May. He claimed he had been working at the wall.
At 5:55pm Morphew has changed shirts again as he leaves the hotel room. Agent Grusing said Barry wouldn't say what he did in the hotel room. He mentioned watching FOX News & a basketball show.
After 6pm Morphew takes multiple trips in & out of the hotel entrance bringing in tools. Asks the front desk person if it would be ok to leave them for his workers who were coming later. These were hand tools.

I just want to know she was not in all those trash dumps in bits and pieces accounting for the 5 trash dumps he made. I feel physically ill. What a rotten b#@&*$%. Moo
That’s my fear…and that’s why her remains have not been found. Because they are buried in a landfill somewhere under mounds of garbage. Did he tranquilizer her, take her to the woods, murder her in some horrific manner, dismember her like a deer and seal her body in different bags, possibly put those different bags into the tree container and then drive around and throw his wife of 25 years and mother of his children out with the trash?! Diabolical, disgusting, evil man.
I want to know if the tree container was thrown away last. All speculation & MOO.

He can't just turn it off while the truck is running. He can only reset the module by disconnecting it (which will be recorded by the module). So I am guessing he didn't think that constant resetting/disconnecting the motherboard of his truck was a prudent thing to do, under the circumstances.

I think that has to be it. He disposed of her and erased the evidence so she wouldn't be found. Then he disposed of evidence later at the hotel. Since there were bags and there was bleach, at some point there was blood. I don't even want to guess what he did after she was unconscious.
