Hopefully, the defense will have this laid out using bullet points for the jury to follow along in their summation... ;)

But what about putting his phone in airplane mode? The truck reset? Why would he put his phone in airplane mode immediately after he got home? That makes no sense, he's home - she knows it, she's with him.

I think the truck reset is after he killed her.

For airplane mode, I don't think it really makes sense putting it on in your house when you're already home. What's the point? It wouldn't hide his location. It just prevents people from calling. Maybe he has a girlfriend and wanted to prevent his phone from ringing when he was home with his wife. Maybe he put it on when he saw Suzanne taking selfies.

I get why you'd put it on when you were driving somewhere to try to hide your location.

Without a doubt. He moved around way too smoothly, and took measures to cover his tracks. It was as if he was following a script.

The problem he faced though, is you can’t think of everything, and he’s not as smart as he thinks he is:

The trash dumps, the lie about working when he was in his room for 5 hours, the tranquilizer cap, and the avoidable mistake of actually putting himself in the vicinity of the bike location.

The chipmunk story took him a staggering 9 months to come up with, and he’d have been better served by being quiet.

I am very intrigued by one thing though:

Barry’s admission that he was throwing away tranquilizer materials. Something compelling must have forced him to come clean there, especially when he couldn’t remember what else he threw away (other than the boots).

I think it was more than explaining the cap, as he could have said he didn’t know where the wrappers or whatever it was, was disposed of.
I wonder if any evidence of his trash dumps was discovered...like the stripped sheets from the bed. Was it Mallory's bed that had the bedding removed? If so, why? Why was it important to strip those sheets and discard them?

Wouldn't Suzanne hear a car coming up the driveway? So she'd know he was home?

  • #645
Why did he get rid of his hiking boots and not the laces?

MOO Even his jealousy is at core, about someone else getting her resources.

I just don't think he loved Suzanne any more. But he loved their marital assets. And wasn't willing to part with any of them.

Spoofapps (Ex SpoofCard) are easy to install on a phone (iPhone and android) and just as easy to use.

That's why it will be imperative for the prosecutor to lay it out in a concise manner for the jury to see when this case goes to trial. The defense is all about baffling with BS.

Much discussion about the Spoofing(?). I am with Verizon carrier and you can actually log into your account and go to your messages. You can send messages from your computer, just as you can send a text from your phone.
Idk what service they used, but maybe the same could be done with other carriers? If so, it would fit with the Spoofing talk, jmo.

Yes I think he formulated his plan after the May 6 “it’s over” text and his response - we may find some computer searches that helped him:

Absolutely agree. I'm looking forward to hearing of the searches he made.

I hope we get to hear all of the 50 reasons Suzanne had for leaving Barry. I hope her girls do too. MOO.
Me too! It would make for a dramatic closing for the prosecution at the end of the trial. Especially if she wrote things about him being unstable, his temper, controlling behavior, misuse of her inheritance and being scared of him! I mean I’ve heard of 50 ways to leave your lover (slip out the back Jack, make a new plan Stan) but if Suzanne took the time to write down FIFTY as in literally 5-0 reasons she wanted a divorce from Barry then that would be a very good thing to leave fresh in the jurors minds as they go to deliberate Barry’s fate. And like Suzanne speaking from the grave in a way. She had 50 reasons to leave but 2 even more important reasons she stayed? And they are supporting their Dad. It’s so sad. MOO

After learning more details from the prelim. I'd like to hear whether everyone feels Barry planned in advance to kill Suzanne that day?
Yes. You don't access/buy ketamine or whatever was used in the dart gun unless you have an intended purpose. Let's see the logical explanation for having a controlled substance on hand when you are vehemently anti-drug and have no other purpose for it.

When he was ready, the Bobcat pounced.

Yes I want to know more about the sheets, too.
When asked about the bed being stripped, BM said SM always cleaned before company arrived ( presumably the girls and their camping companions). When I heard “ cleaning” I wondered if it was to explain smell of bleach in house.

What if Suzanne did hear him come home but thought that he would pull into the garage and go through the house but instead he leaves the truck in the driveway and sneaks up on her from the outside?

Why did he get rid of his hiking boots and not the laces?
He may have been worried about tracks that matched his boots, or soil that could perhaps help law enforcement find Suzanne.

ETA: No clue about the laces.

Whew.

Much appreciation for those that kept up with & posted twitter feeds. Great commentary, too.

** did we discover what BM used the boot strings for?

I doubt he had ever operated a washer/dryer in his life, and it shows.

Everyone knows that things have a habit of falling out of your pockets.

Thank God they sealed the house so fast. That’s going to be huge.

There was also allegedly a bleach smell at the home, just as there was at the hotel.

My theory is that it takes a few minutes for the tranquilizer to take down its target. So SM had time to panic and run. And, she likely vomited out of fear and panic at what was happening to her. (Sorry.)

So, she must have entered Mallory's room in that state, or maybe - after running and vomiting - BM picked her up and put her there after she dropped.

And he dumped the sheets because they had vomit all over them. And he had to clean up at the house because vomit also covered other surfaces.

If I know the cell phone provider of the intended recipient, I can usually find a way to send a text through the computer. I'm on my computer more than my phone.
