There was also allegedly a bleach smell at the home, just as there was at the hotel.

My theory is that it takes a few minutes for the tranquilizer to take down its target. So SM had time to panic and run. And, she likely vomited out of fear and panic at what was happening to her. (Sorry.)

So, she must have entered Mallory's room in that state, or maybe - after running and vomiting - BM picked her up and put her there after she dropped.

And he dumped the sheets because they had vomit all over them. And he had to clean up at the house because vomit also covered other surfaces.
This sounds very plausible. I sure hope that they were able to retrieve some things from some of the dumpsters.

He may have been worried about tracks that matched his boots, or soil that could perhaps help law enforcement find Suzanne.

ETA: No clue about the laces.
I think he DID get rid of the laces, but just not at the same garbage spot.

Because he didn't want the laces (with his DNA on them) being matched to the boots which might be matched to the soil or to tracks in the soil at a critical location.

@NoSI isn’t sure she’ll be able to provide a recap tonight, as she has a long drive home. She’s going to try though, as long as she doesn't arrive too late.

I don't. I think he was planning to do what he's done for the past years and gaslight, guilt, and threaten Suzanne to convince her to stay married. I think he came home and saw her sending pictures of herself in a bikini to her boyfriend and lost it. It can still be premeditated and Murder 1, I just don't think it was planned. He may have dreamed about it but I don't think there was a date on the calendar.

If it was planned, I would have thought someone with access to numerous construction sites would have had a plan for disposing of whatever he threw away in ** 5 ** garbage cans in public places with surveillance. There's no normal answer for why you visit 5 different garbage cans.

I think after it happened he decided he would pretend to be working that day and go out to the worksite and hotel.

If he booked the hotel earlier, then you have evidence of planning. But I think they would have said that already if it were true.
I also think he watched Forensic Files and slept at a holiday inn so he thinks he had everything handled - the trash dumps just prove to me he thinks he is so smart - I believe he may have booked that hotel (booking.com?) considering he showed up so early that morning - I drove to the beach hoping to check in early at 11 and they were having none of that - 3pm for me. I’d like to know when he got his key and when he entered that room too.
And May I say it’s good to have you here @Alethea

Me too! It would make for a dramatic closing for the prosecution at the end of the trial. Especially if she wrote things about him being unstable, his temper, controlling behavior, misuse of her inheritance and being scared of him! I mean I’ve heard of 50 ways to leave your lover (slip out the back Jack, make a new plan Stan) but if Suzanne took the time to write down FIFTY as in literally 5-0 reasons she wanted a divorce from Barry then that would be a very good thing to leave fresh in the jurors minds as they go to deliberate Barry’s fate. And like Suzanne speaking from the grave in a way. She had 50 reasons to leave but 2 even more important reasons she stayed? And they are supporting their Dad. It’s so sad. MOO
Ultimately they will need to sort out all that they believed and all that were were told with who actually got killed.

I've had a strong suspicion from the get go that he utilized the river in their backyard and also that he mutilated/dismembered her, and who knows what else he did before, during and after all of this.

I've had the same feeling about the river. IDK about the dismembering though, seems as if they would have found some evidence of blood, etc.

Seems really stupid in the whole scheme of things. Was Barry that cheap that he had to save boot laces and sneak in for free breakfast at Holiday Inn Express?

I doubt he had ever operated a washer/dryer in his life, and it shows.

Everyone knows that things have a habit of falling out of your pockets.

Thank God they sealed the house so fast. That’s going to be huge.

I always tell my DH that I get to keep any money found in his pockets. :p:D

I luv your thought process but didn't she have her phone on the 9th sunbathing taking pictures of herself at 2:11pm?
Maybe I have the date wrong.

You are correct on the date and time. To spoof (ie fake) text messages, it wouldn’t matter where SM is located as it’s not her physical phone doing the texting.

But there have been some good, common sense counter posts to me theory, and Spoofing texts is most likely a long shot.

IMO, there are significant gaps in details in what has been discussed thus far. We’ve had what feels like a 2 day soap opera with bombshell evidence sprinkled here and there. But if the AA is as long as it is, there has to be a ton more evidence than what has been disclosed thus far.

a couple final spoofing thoughts (you’ll have to go along with my theory that he spoofed them)
-Spoofing would certainly show premeditation
-Isn’t is coincidental that BM tells MG he is going home to take the wife on a hike and make her happy.
-Matches up with his texts. (Although, in his texts, he also says No to hiking)
-Wouldn't that be just about the best way to create an alibi for needing to buy chlorine or other chemicals in bulk that also just happens to be the day your wife is alledgedly murdered and both the home and hotel reportedly wreaked of bleach. Oh, I bought all that chlorine because my wife asked me to. See, here is the text.
-In the spoofing theory, BM would also be catching SM by surprise because she’d be expecting him to work at that job site all day as planned. So he could have surprised her with the plan to murder her, or surprised her by catching her in the middle of texting JL and then blown his top.

My spoofing theory is mainly tied to the premeditation aspect. And if BM listened to a lot of true crime, or spent time on the dark web, learning about spoofing wouldn’t be that difficult. The good news is that if that really happened, I bet there is plenty of evidence on his phone and with the spoofing service provider to
Prove it.

That's what I was thinking (soil/tread). That in itself is a clue. The shoelaces might be special ones that he purchased and wanted to use again??

As if throwing his boots away in a dumpster wouldn't raise anyone's suspicions...That's how we dispose of our worn out shoes and boots...

Whew.

Much appreciation for those that kept up with & posted twitter feeds. Great commentary, too.

** did we discover what BM used the boot strings for?
He collects them now. Cheaper than antlers, you know?

Regarding the missing bed sheet(s), I'm thinking he may have wrapped her in it before removing her from PP.

I think the truck reset is after he killed her.

For airplane mode, I don't think it really makes sense putting it on in your house when you're already home. What's the point? It wouldn't hide his location. It just prevents people from calling. Maybe he has a girlfriend and wanted to prevent his phone from ringing when he was home with his wife. Maybe he put it on when he saw Suzanne taking selfies.

I get why you'd put it on when you were driving somewhere to try to hide your location.
Maybe he didn’t want her to be able to find him near The house - it seems these two had no problems spying on each other ?

I do the laundry and always check my husband's pockets before washing his pants or shorts. I even check the washer and dryer afterwards. Old Barry must have been in a rush to complete his checklist.

I'm wondering if he washed those sheets along with his clothes before discarding them.

But what about putting his phone in airplane mode? The truck reset? Why would he put his phone in airplane mode immediately after he got home? That makes no sense, he's home - she knows it, she's with him.

Let’s say she didn’t know he was headed home. (See spoofing theory ;) ). And maybe he put his phone into airplane mode before he got home because he knows SM sometimes tracks him via findmyphone, and he needed the element of surprise.

Was he following the Fotis Dulos case? He sounds just like him. 6 trash bags being disposed of. I hope they have him on suicide watch.

  • #678
Why did he get rid of his hiking boots and not the laces?

MOO, that was a lie. He threw the boots and laces away and needed an explanation of why he brought them to the hotel and then threw them away.

And she was turning 50 so I think she decided she wasn’t going to be married to him at that age - I think that milestone was the reason for the 50 list ….
And I love she saved it to the cloud
