I think that question about shooting wildlife was in reference to the turkey BM’s daughter shot by the river. Probably not a BB gun or tranquilizer, but who the heck knows?

Why would you want to retreive a turkey that had been shot "some time ago"? Wouldn't it be disgusting? I'm not a hunter so I don't know. MOO.

That area was under Covid precautions.
For instance their church service was by Zoom, and she didn't show up that morning.

I'll be happy to see it laid out sequentially in the AA.

Curious what other evidence the State will have in their back pocket when it comes to trial. I'm sure they are hoping they will find her body, you never know. Something might come together, I think most recently it was said they searched a mine somewhere.

We know from LS Fox21's prior interview of MG that BM was working at the Salida river house build site when he surprised MG - telling her she could leave early because he was taking off early to "make the wife happy." MG had expected to work the full day. She later heard from others that BM was allegedly seen in town Saturday afternoon which conflicts with the State's theory.

I posted this thought in response to @OldCop right before the last thread closed. I haven’t seen it discussed yet so I am bringing it forward for consideration.

If SM was tranquilized, something happened in the moments or minutes immediately after. Her phone was probably within arms reach. I believe the scenario I outline below is, though perhaps not probable, certainly possible, and worth thinking about.

Well, if she was sending selfie’s her phone was probably in hand. Assuming he really did shoot her with a dart, IMO she would have had plenty of time to react before becoming incapacitated. It doesn’t take long to do five clicks (there’s that five again!) on an iPhone to trigger a 911 call. So he would have had to immediately restrain her to prevent something like that. But regardless, I imagine she would have run, or at least tried to run, or maybe just surrendered with a “Why…why…why…”

Holy-moly… As I type this, I realize I have to ask myself, could there be an aborted 911 call from SM’s phone that marks the day and time she was attacked? If the call went through and was abandoned, no doubt LE and an EMT would have been dispatched automatically to follow up. And that didn’t happen.

BUT what if the call was canceled before the connection was fully made? Or what if the keys were pressed but she wasn’t able to swipe right to place the call? Or he wrestled the phone away from her before the countdown ended and it auto-called? What if those key presses were logged in the cloud? (I would think they would be.) It’s not impossible given what we think we know now and the implications are staggering IMO.

That area, a construction site off County Road 105, east of Salida, is the same area where investigators spent three days searching for Suzanne, just a week later, on May 21-23.

“He was acting really weird about [the beach area], I was like Barry what’s up,” Gentile said. “He seemed stressed. He definitely seemed weird on Saturday.”

And, although Gentile had agreed to work in that area for the day, she said Barry dismissed her from the job early – at 11 a.m.

“He said that he had to go make the wife happy – do some hiking or biking,” she said. “And I found out, like, later that day that he was in town all day.”

Gentile said she heard Barry was out shopping by himself.

The original plan for the Broomfield job – a retaining wall – included only Gentile and Barry, she said.

“We were originally supposed to go out there at the end of April,” Gentile explained.

She said, the plans changed, pushing the project to the first of May, then changed again to the weekend of May 10. Gentile said she was surprised when Barry called her asking her to assemble a crew for the job.

“Last minute he changed everything. In fact, he called me that Sunday – Mother’s Day – and was really frantic, really didn’t sound like himself,” Gentile said. “I hung up the phone and I thought he just had the worst night of his life.”

Still, Gentile agreed to pick up Jeffrey Puckett and head to Broomfield.

An arrest affidavit by Chaffee County Sheriff’s Detective Sgt. Claudette Hysjulien says the county clerk’s office received a suspicious mail ballot in Suzanne Morphew’s name in October. Sheriff’s investigators saw the ballot, which had been mailed by the state to Suzanne Morphew, lacked Suzanne’s signature, as required by law, but that Barry Morphew had signed it as a witness.
