OldCop

Is there a time we know when he returned to PP?

And when he departed HIE?

The big show of returning hand tools to the hotel and asking the desk clerk if he can leave them for employees is all for show, clearly. Seeking to imply he was working all this time and establishing a time when he left HIE.
I agree. We do have some more info from the hearings that needs to be added after 6:00 pm when he stashed his tools at the HIE. I am hoping we will get more precise info about the 911 call, the bike find, his arrival home etc next week.

Is the State able to track the geolocation of BM's truck for the time period after he re-booted the battery? If yes, it's odd that there seems to be no geolocation testimony re the truck leaving PP in the early morning hours of the 10th.

Hmm.. LS tweeted that the FB codes were reset on May 8.

https://twitter.com/laurenscharftv/status/1425185309285928966?s=21

Between 8-9 p.m. on May 8, #SuzanneMorphew Facebook codes were reset. She friend requested 23 people in total 20 were men. Investigators asked Barry if this was him and he said no.

The only other tweet I see says this:

https://twitter.com/sydneestelle/status/1425203938261938181?s=21

The night before #SuzanneMorphew was reported missing, her Facebook codes were reset and people started friending her -- 23 old friends from Indiana, 20 of them were men.

MOO FB password reset was 5/9

I had thought so as well, but???

If it was done on 5/8, then it could have been Suzanne, so, that won't mean much anymore.
(Even though it really was BM.)

jmoo

I sent a message to LS asking for clarification.
Thank you. We heard a while ago that SM’s FB was reset on the 9th and that fr and pymk notices were sent out shortly before midnight on that date. I will asterisk this with a notation on the timeline until we can clear it up. @Cindizzi, please let us know if you hear back from LS.
Thank you!

Seems to me prosecution needs to lay it out better in order to keep this case moving forward. So I agree...looking forward to the next two days of the prelim. I don't think at this point the AA has any real value and if the case moves forward I imagine it will be released in redacted form at the point the judge said he would review in early September. If the case doesn't move forward as expected, I don't imagine it will be released.

You can count on this case moving forward. The next two days of the prelim will release more detail from the very valuable arrest affidavit.

“Arrest affidavits generally contain much greater detail than what is released in investigators’ statements to the media, providing insights into possible motives, specifics of the crime and a timeline of events. They include firsthand accounts from detectives, witness statements and other key information – sometimes even photographic evidence.”

So upon seeing the last photo of his missing wife, which she took on May 9, rather than being overcome with emotion, Barry makes some snarky remark that "she looks drunk".

But, didn't he say earlier that they had a "perfect night" that night?
Oliver also said while Barry might have called May 9 a “perfect night,” she knew the couple hadn’t had a "perfect night in a year and a half,” Harris said.

I think he's getting a bit rattled.

I imagine that the murder, for some, is the easy part. It's the aftermath that is the hard part.

Barry should have stuck to the K.I.S.S. method. He did a great job with hiding Suzanne's body. I think the the place was picked far in advance.

It's the complicated staging/cleanup/alibi that is going to seal his fate. I really think that he planned to use firefighter training as his alibi until the class was canceled due to Covid. Then, he had to scramble for a second alibi, which really didn't work for him.

I really don't understand the scattered dumping at all of the places in Broomfield. What was up with that? And, all of the changing of his clothes. No, that's not suspicious...I think that, in his effort to be efficient, he wasn't effective at all.

Of course, only time will tell.

JMO.

Jumping off your post, but not necessarily directed at your post:
I have a feeling that what BM was actually bleaching in that hotel room was all of his outfits, his boots, the laces, and all the clothing of SMs that he had with him. After all items were bleached he then did the trash dumps. I think he was trying to remove his DNA and Suzanne's from all these items so if they were ever found it would be hard to trace back to him and SM. The excess outfit changes could have multiple reasons such as, everytime he touched something of Suzanne's he worried that her DNA was now on his clothes or his on hers or everytime he bleached something he got bleach on himself and required a new outfit. I don't think he bleached his tools cuz that would be a very quick way to destroy expensive work tools. If he bleached his tools, then I think he had had her body in his truck toolbox and worried that her DNA or cadaverine could have gotten on the tools in the box. I would be curious if during the car wash he washed the inside of that toolbox. Just to be clear, I am not referring to a handheld toolbox. I am talking about the kind that fit a truck and are bolted into the bed of a truck. Every construction and landscape worker I know has one of these. I would be surprised if BM didn't. Jmo

@Momofthreeboys - AA has no value? Why? It's all hearsay? Seems like there would be some meat in it. Can't just all be an appetizer.

You forgot a turkey.
So you are going on trial for killing your wife, let’s be sure the judge knows I have killed many big elk, a dead turkey that daughter has killed or wounded is lying somewhere behind my house and oh by the way I have killed 85 chipmunks ! Threatened a guy that I would kill him and bury him under a tree ! Judge I am just a good Christian man that would not harm a thing! Who in their right mind would tell of his killings, especially 85 little chipmunks when he is accused of killing his wife. BM thinks his killings are badges to be worn like a Eagle Scout !

Going over text messages between SM and her best friend SO about SM wanting to leave the marriage. SM says she needs to wait until youngest daughter is out of the house, etc.

Then SM says she can’t do it until they get the money from the sale of the house in Indiana and she thinks that should be January.

19:56

Also at 22:00 SM texts SO that she had finally got him off the idea of building a house.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that this case is going to move forward. I think they've already established probable cause, the next 2 days will be the icing on top.

The value of the AA has already showed Barry lied to LE from the very beginning. Curious as to why don't you think it has any value?

The meat will be exposed in the preliminary to reach the presumption great test so the AA will have less value after the preliminary and that is when I think it will be released.... if this proceeds to trial...in redacted form. If it doesn't go to trial it has no value as the prosecution will need to tighten their case before they obtain another arrest warrant.

The thing I'd like to know most is, why throw the tranquilliser material? If you had nothing whatsoever to do with your wife's disappearance off the face of the earth, and if tranquillising her was not involved, why throw it at all? Not just throw it, but throw it some 2.5-3hrs away.
Does he believe that people are not going to find that bizarre?

I saw this, too. Was there ever any follow up?
Not officially IIRC, but I'm wondering if he did a little pre digging of a hole? It does say 'deceased remains' he had to have moved her at some point. IMO

In the new additional charges filed on May 18th it mentions:
<snipped & BBM>

COUNT 2-TAMPERING WITH A DECEASED HUMAN BODY (F3) Between and including May 9, 2020 and May 10, 2020, Barry Lee Morphew, believing that an official proceeding was pending, in progress, or about to be instituted, and acting without legal right or authority, unlawfully and feloniously willfully destroyed, mutilated, concealed, removed, or altered a human body, part of a human body, or human remains with intent to impair its or their appearance or availability in the official proceedings; in violation of section 18-8-610.5, C.R.S

Would that always be the case then? That the AA would never have any value? I'm thinking it would normally be redacted, or a case not go to trial, as the either/or options, is that correct? I'm still not v familiar with the whole AA scenario, so different here.

Maybe they were expired doses.

Unless he used another vehicle, the older RR or ATV, to dispose of Suzanne. Gosh I hated typing that. :(

May 8th was a typo, as LS was scrambling to listen, capture as much detail as she could for her notes, and tweet simultaneously. Others at the PH said FB password was reset 5/9 and friend requests sent between 8-9pm (11pm-midnight EST).
