Alright, getting close. I added an eta above as a thought, but I don’t think there has been any mention of that, (firehouse), but I’ve been wondering about it, which is why I added a question mark.

Not trying to get into a debate, but it does appear that the CCSO addresses public opinion in their press releases. I do think they need some PR training; I know budgets are tight and this is a small town with a huge investigation but a woman is missing and the public is concerned.

I don't have a comment on PR training but I did notice Sheriff Spezze did say the bolded below. To me that indicated he was aware that some people had the impression budget constraints might be putting SM's case on the back burner, there was no money to continue to search for her. He seemed to want to shut that down in diplomatic way. That was my take anyway. IMO

The Chaffee County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to assigning financial and staffing resources to this case, as leads continue to be extensively followed up on by investigators. “The investigative task force remains resolved in their commitment to finding Suzanne, and our hearts go out to her family and friends,” said Sheriff Spezze.

I have always thought that he wasn't looking in the dumpster or going through it. He was getting rid of something and then he got noticed and had to play it off with the helmet narrative and then followed it up with the vague note attempt to try & justify his presence. Probably even bought some peanut butter to make it seem legit.

From what I understand, it was the CBI Communications Director who was the spokesman for the Press Releases. I'm sure they have experience in PR.

They addressed the rumor that human remains had been found by search dogs, but I haven't read any statements regarding the opinions of the public. Any MSM statement that is inaccurate may be interpreted as fact, so I would expect them to follow up and clarify. Then, after that statement, NG reported "Breaking News" stating, "NO Remains Found in Suzanne Morphew Case," making it sound as if LE had already investigated and found nothing.

If reporters hadn't jumped to conclusions, LE would not have to address them in the first place.

Yeah, if there had been a local reporter covering the story there probably would have been less confusion.

I was never upset, because I knew that LE would never leave a potential crime scene unsecured.

It always made sense to me that LE would maintain a covert presence there, in case the bad actor decided to return to the area.

The mistrust of LE that's been expressed in this case is completely unwarranted.

I was irked, it last a longgg four hours. After talking with my husband I stood corrected. After that I even asked a few of my posts be removed.

That said. I do feel there is a big difference between being "irked" and expressing "mistrust."

There was some discussion on this when we were trying to put the timeline together. Someone, sorry I can’t remember who!, posted some photos of the market. It appears there is a large dumpster on the left rear side and a regular size trash can in the front of the market. The consensus was that it was probably the trash can in front that he was going through.

I don't think he was anywhere near the dumpster, but instead at the front of the store where the smaller trash can sits. He was noticed because it's right on the other side of the window - whereas the dumpster is behind the buiding and off to the side. Unlikely he bought anything since the store was closed.

Yes, IIRC we spent pages and pages on the market, dumpster and small trash can out front. It was a few threads ago.

I agree it was def the can in front of the market.

The dumpster referred to in my post would be in the Broomfield area to distance himself from any materials used to clean up from the crime in the event Suzanne's remains were recovered. JMO

Not trying to bring up the trash can at the PS Market vs. the dumpster at the PS Market for discussion again.

I know some posters think SM was the one in the family who liked to ride the trails but I think BM rode too. It's highly unlikely that he borrowed a mountain bike to do his own 'searches'. When BM asked the neighbour to check to see if SM's bike was there, I'm sure he gave a description, not just 'the' bike since the girls probably rode, too.

My speculation.
Also killer expected to find everyone home on MD... family annihilation/ home invasion.
Motive? I have one but I have to wait on this.
Sometimes, rarely, the #1 suspect IS innocent and #2 suspect needs to be vetted...
It lines up with a good bit of info we have.
#2 suspect is going to be harder than #1, to build case, because there is no time line or digital info, and w/o probable cause, no search warrants, etc.
This is My speculation and while is not as wild as some, it fits as well as some, but it still is speculation.

As Private Search Concludes, Chaffee County Sheriff Updates the Search for Suzanne Morphew

-One of the locations investigated by the task force was along the Arkansas River in the county.

-A second property near the Morphew home was also investigated after the same dog team alerted to an area on that private property.

-A third location was also identified in unincorporated Chaffee County near Salida on private property where a different pair of human remains dogs alerted.

I’d like to know why Barry seemingly wanted his crew out of town for those few days. He arranged the hotel rooms but left them the wrong tools/equipment and had them waiting for bricks that were never delivered. Was it due to mistakes he made in trying to set up a hasty alibi or did he plan for them to be stuck there, away from town and inaccessible?
