New, different bedspread in the master bedroom and lots of different pictures/décor items...but the property strikes me personally as dark and depressing.

Yes, very dark. The woods in the house are beautiful, but there seems to be nothing -- carpet, paint on the walls, wall hangings, pictures, etc. -- to give the house an upbeat and light-ish feel.

Certainly not all baby blues & whites everywhere, but rustic doesn't have to be dark -- just something a bit brighter and less heavy. But that's me. I am an east-coaster, and styles do vary with locations, etc., but our house is a sort of county house, too. Anyway, styles, tastes, and blending-in differ WRT locations, terrain, climate, architecture, and the folks who live wherever.

That home is also for sale.
Interesting.
I wondered about this also.
I now know as of last week that there is not an odor right away.
We waited about 9 hours before transportation came to get him and he had passed away 8 hours before we got there. No smell.
If we can figure out BM timeline within Sat AM- Sunday PM when first call was made and if she was in cooler(s) , then I have to say NO, there would not be any odor yet.
JMO
I'm so sorry this happened.

What do you think happened to cause gouges on that master bath wall?

Those aren't gouges. It's a plaster effect over drywall to give the wall a decorative texture. Very common technique used, actually.

IMO

He's got new property in the Longhorn subdivision, a house will be built there. Change his name? I don't see that happening. He can run, but he can't hide. IMO

Moving his residence 11 to 12 miles closer to the Sheriff's Office would not seem to be running, IMO

That home has a few issues:

Psychologically, it’s probably a “murder home.” Some people just can’t deal with that.

Then you have to worry about all the gawkers wandering around.

You also have to deal with the potential of another search warrant at some point, although I don’t think it’s very likely.

Right, and on top of all that, it's clearly not a safe neighborhood.

I hear there's a mountain lion on the loose, snatching women off of bikes without leaving a single trace behind.

And the home security system appears to be highly unreliable.

Buyer beware.

JMO.

Figure of speech specifically in regard to the question raised of him maybe changing his name. IMO

Why is another search warrant unlikely? Sorry, I’ve taken a break for a few months and probably missed a lot. Very sad no arrest yet. I remember you predicting way back when that this would be a long one.

If he’s selling the PP property, that rules out SM being buried there. IMO.
I think the exact opposite. In fact, I was looking at the Zillow page and scrutinizing for inconsistencies in the landscaping.
BM might think he won't be haunted if he doesn't own the property any more. He won't have to watch and wait for the cops to show up. Or, he's so arrogant, he believes no one will think of looking in plain sight.

They’ve already done two, and I just don’t know what new evidence could turn up to justify going back there a third time.

You’d think that home has already been thoroughly processed at this point.

Purchasing the Longhorn property does not require that Barry live there. Barry owned the recently sold Indiana property, he lived in Maysville. Barry owns property at Puma Path, he lives in a condo.

Would Barry cash out all of his assets, move away with his millions and change his name? Or is he compelled to stay in Salida where he can keep Suzanne, his daughters and his bro club under his thumb?

Believe it or not, people like BM not only will not change their character but they also don't change their environment for a couple of reasons. First, he's a small-town kid -- by all accounts, has never lived in a city, and Salida is a similar-sized town to where he previously lived (just like Andy described where SM came from). Second, BM doesn't believe he's done anything wrong, and as long as he maintains a core group that believes him he will be fine. I believe BM probably has the support of the church they attended, and that will suit him fine.

As far as business is concerned, BM does not have a professional occupation but performs a job nobody recognizes. I promise that after the Salida riverfront house is complete, nobody is going to marvel and ask who was the dirt guy on this project. BM will continue to be employable if his price is right, and he completes the job on schedule without impacting others.

I found my own period as a Colorado resident both enjoyable and eye-opening. The code of the west is real, and Salida will continue to be a live and let live community for BM as long as he stays in his lane. So no, I don't think BM is going anywhere else voluntarily. MOO

I think you’re looking at the old Zillow page:

If we're upset about this, imagine how they must feel.

Agreed, I don't think even BM would allow photos of anything like that. We have limited view of rooms that could have some obvious disruption...
