If MG was to go, it would be a staged accident.
BUT BM has to find her first and GPS would alert LE, as they know where MG resides.
Surely, BM is not that crazy.o_O
MOO.
He is not crazy but he may feel desperate.

  • #782
Absolutely. She was supposedly a long time employee of his, whatever that means. She left for a reason, and said she was scared of him.

They were fine up until that weekend, when she left for that wall job.

She has to have told CBI incriminating information.
How about her telling CBI that BM “sounded like he had the worst night of his life”? Would that qualify?

ETA: The file size was originally too large and I could not upload it here. I went about it another way and was able to now include the pic. Sorry if it comes in a little small. I marked up the pic to point out the trees in question.

It is very interesting though. Why would these 2 trees be removed?
The angle of the photo is very different. I think the two smaller trees and the cement bench could both be behind the larger tree in the last photo.

I have always hoped that after she told LE this they asked, “What do you mean by that? What did he say?”
‘Cause that’s what I want to know.

Speaking of PE, Chris tweeted the pic of BM laying on the ground right after the CBS4 story came out and tagged the reporter who interviewed BM.

He also asked her if she was asked to provide questions.

(Remember LS has said that BM always asked her to provide interview questions in advance of him speaking to her.)

BM Hiding Real Estate?
@PaulaDC sbm bbm "Safely hidden under that non profit"??? Maybe I'm imagining something waaay different than ^ post contemplates.

First why would BM want to hide this prop or other r/e? Hide from whom? Spouse, offspring, in-laws, other family, a criminal mob, drug lords, IRS, DEA, other LE or gov't entities, business or personal creditors, bankruptcy courts?
If BM wants to hide this prop by transferring title to SMHope Fdtn., to cover some nefarious actions, all he has done is turn the spotlight on himself, imo.

Ok, sign a deed to convey ownership of PP prop to the fdtn? A deed that has to be recorded in a county office, where LE of every stripe and the public can see it? Beyond BM signing his John Hancock on the deed, typically r/e closings require Seller/grantor and Buyer/grantee to provide info, like, oh, for example, Soc Sec. numbers. Some info from r/e transactions is sent to IRS and state tax/revenue departments.

Does BM want to claim his transfer of prop to the fdtn was a gift? On BM's next fed inc tax Form 1040, does he plan to itemize deductions on Schedule A, claim a contribution to SMHF, a 501(c)(3) organization? If $1,500,000 was amt (I've forgotten) they paid for prop, then that is his cost basis, and deduction for that particular gift is limited to that amt., not the fair mkt value at time gift is made. Next, IRS imposes limits on how much a donor can claim (iiuc, could be wrong), 30 % 0r 50% of donor's adjusted gross income/AGI. Not a tax credit, where $1 of tax liability is offset by $1 tax credit. What is his/their income, just asking rhetorically? Claiming a gift may not be so advantageous as it may first appear.

Now onto SMHF which would (in this hypo discussion) own the prop. Assuming SMHF's board of directors and some hypo future employee(s) are mere puppets bowing to his tyrannical control, and they nod their heads saying yessir to selling the PP prop, then what? Would a buyer pay $ 1,500,000 for a home without a title insurance company issuing a title insurance policy? Seems a sale would tend to go thru legit connections w r/e agent/broker, title ins co, likely buyer's lender, et al. Ok, sale closes; proceeds are paid to SMHF. Then how is $$ returned to BM? Salary paid to him as fdtn employee, which would be taxed as earned income, so higher tax rate & than if he had sold PP prop, like most anybody else. Or how would $ used to his advantage?

I cannot imagine how anyone in BM's shoes would try to hide prop like this. Or why. ;)Maybe I am too far back in the cave or too far up in the stratosphere.:) jm2cts

I am not OP but great points.
Plus, even he wanted to portray $$ as a gift, when purchasing property, he would have to claim where the gift came from to the lender.
I am guessing OP was thinking that BM was consolidating all his assets, property included, under the non profit, thinking he is hiding info from the public.

Puma Path house, 7.72 acres, 3256 sq ft. sold 2 yrs ago that $ 1,575,000
(not as I posted originally $ approx. $1,450,000. <--- My error, relying on memory)

Taxes $ 4497 /yr.

Is that a special Friends & Family rate?

Seems low imo, but since I am not familiar in any way w CO r/e prices or taxes, j/k

I always found it strange that he was visiting the M family to go hunting with BM. yet, when he recounted speaking to SM about her riding and lack of feeling threatened, it was done while he stayed at the house and BM was off hunting. This always sent up red flags for me, I’m not sure why but it just doesn’t sit right.
^^bbm

This is news to me. Didn't TS tell LS that BM had to work one day and TS did not feel like going out hunting and stayed home and talked to SM about how she was doing and whether she felt safe in their new environment?

Public records do not support the numbers above.

Warranty Deed for joint tenants filed on 4/12/2018 at $1,575,000. (The property previously sold on 9/14/2015 at $1,100,000).

Some questions I've been mulling....

Was Poncha Market the ONLY location he was caught playing Search & Find (or Hide & Duck)?

Was he, in fact, searching for a helmet or was that the first thing that came to mind when he was caught/questioned?

It's really a very strange place to look for one's wife. Same for an artifact. Why there? Lion sometimes, after big prey, needs sammich? Might've swung by, dropped trash off? Abductor put it there?

Seems curious to me that, of Suzanne, only two items seem to have been recovered. Her bike. And potentially her helmet. And he should be looking for the only other item, yet to be found? Did he have reason to believe/know it MIGHT be in that trash? Surely he knew if he happened to find it, it would raise eyebrows, making him look even more guilty.

So.... was he actually looking for something else? Or hiding/discarding something, in the style of F. Dulos? Might he have recovered the helmet from that same trash later, only to toss it onto the hillside where it was later found? Did he recover it from a different trash can? All to further his abduction story?

There's something fishy about that trash receptacle. And his interest in it.

While he was focused on that, everybody else was searching for HIS WIFE.

Priorities.

It might help to understand that Poncha Market is a gas/market stop located at the crossroads of Hwy 50 & 285 -- a popular stops entering and exiting the area. It was also one of the few essential businesses open during Stage 2 COVID19 albeit on scaled back business hours. I recall the store was reportedly closed when BM stopped by and the manager let him inside.

Are you saying they were more or less trying to discourage her from doing something that they had no way knowing if she would do, by NOT paying her any money? IMO
Do we know when those 2 guys approached her versus when she did the interview/phone call with Lauren? TIA

Huge gap. We’re talking a couple days after Suzanne’s disappearance, and months until the interview between MG and Lauren.

I think we need to keep in mind the wide range of meanings that can apply to the word "tools".

It sounds like what BM left in the hotel room was "whatever was in the back of his truck" (as I think JP said). That sounds like shovels, hoes, picks, trowels, etc.

The kind of "tool" they might be unable to work on a wall job without, sounds more like, for example, a laser level, an expensive item and one they can't provide themselves or work around not having.

IMO

My thoughts about the Poncha market trash bin -- IIRC he was there an hour after closing, so didn't expect to be seen. I think the 'looking for helmet' was just a story, what came to mind on the spur of the moment. I think he had no intention of asking the store to post a flyer or to look for the items on his list, but that all got made up on the spot when he needed to explain what he was supposedly doing there.

What I suspect he might have ACTUALLY been looking for was a receipt, tossed there by himself (or by SM -- is there any chance this market is also the sandwich shop where they were seen?).

If BM/SM had been there recently and tossed a receipt, or a coffee cup/tray with either of their names on it, and later realized that evidence conflicted with the timing of whatever alibi he claimed, I could see him trying to retrieve it.

I don't think any direct evidence (ie jewelry, her helmet or other items) were put in the trash there, as that just doesn't make sense to me. But a receipt that shows his alibi to be false, yes indeed.

I'm confused about all the posts about BM dumpster diving. Is there a link that I've missed?

It was not until Aug 20, 2020 that approved MSM finally published the account of BM stopping at Poncha Market and the store manager gave the actual account by audio interview to Fox21 LS at link below. There's no mention of BM in the dumpster.

And a store manager at the Poncha Market described an encounter with Suzanne’s husband, a few days after Suzanne’s disappearance was publicized.

“Somebody knocked on the window and it was Barry Morphew,” Tiffany Butala said.

Butala is a store manager at the market and watched Barry on May 12th around 8 p.m. write the note on the back of a receipt.

That is an interesting catch Kmac, ITA. What I gather from this statement is; an innocent naive woman who was attracted by the tumultous nature of their marriage. The proverbial; good girls attracted to the bad boys because it brings them a feeling of excitement and danger.

Something else that caught my eye was her repeating I remember at the beginning of a string of sentences in a row. As though, she is trying to both remind BM and remember the good times that are no longer there. In my opinion, it seems Suzanne loved BM more than he loved her. JMO

I thought that last note sounded like a goodbye. I just can't make up my mind how the exit occurred.

FBI agents are seen investigating plot of land owned by Colorado mom Suzanne Morphew's husband | Daily Mail Online

Here is a really lengthy article by Daily Mail talking about the dig at the other property site and some of the things that turned up during the AM search for Suzanne. Am I correct in remembering that

Colorado woman woken from sleep by loud noises, sounds of ‘running’ at construction site that was focus of Suzanne Morphew search — the night before she went missing: Report
According to the article by Crime Online the neighbor reported hearing the equipment running on the night of the 9th the day before Suzanne was reported missing. I wish that neighbor had gone out to investigate what exactly was going on over there at that site. Sometimes being a nosey neighbor pays off she might have seen something that could have helped in the search for Suzanne.

At 11:30 at night? Go out to do what? Get nabbed by a mountain lion and dragged to her death? Never to be found? No thank you.

I’m only repeating what she said, @Dave F. Many have surmised the statement about hush money was their attempt at a joke. The further conversation about cooperating and turning over her phone, she felt, was an attempt to discourage her from doing so. Also, according to her, she was fired for doing just that.
At this point, we don’t know how much weight to put on MG’s statements. We try to interpret the bits of info we get until we either know they are fact or know they are fiction.

I think it's important to note that the two Broomfield workers interviewed both talked about money. JP made it a point to tell LS that he was paid for traveling to Broomfield and not doing any work, and we were left wondering if MG was ever paid after she was reportedly approached by TN & GD who stated they did not want it to appear as if MG received hush money.

Since the crew reportedly traveled/commuted to Denver together, I'm curious if TN & GD approached JP at the same time as MG, and if this happened when they arrived first arrived Salida.
