Yesterday was the anniversary of when JD was found.

Actually, I don't think Dennise is Jane Doe. The Weld County Sheriff's Office says she was dead several months, meaning she likely died in 1973.
This means little. It was partial skeletal remains. Can easily be a murder 12 years past.
Only thing that makes it unlikely is the big distance.

Not this case specifically but in general, I no longer use distance as a contributing factor unless there is solid evidence that MP has been disposed of nearby. There have been a few ‘solved cold cases’ where remains have been discovered very far from where they were reported missing or last seen.

Thai is true but in this case it is extremely unlikely. The perpetrator was found 4 hours after the assault. No time to take a body 500 miles away.

Identified as Roxanne Colleen Leadbeater from Los Angeles, CA. She was 15 at the time she went missing.

DENVER (KDVR) — The body of a woman found dead near Platteville over 50 years ago in November 1973 has been identified as Roxanne Colleen Leadbeater, according to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office.

She was previously only known as “Jane Doe 1973” after the year in which she was found.

Rest in peace Roxanne.

Los Angeles to Platteville, Colorado is a 15 hour drive according to Google Maps. Roxanne went through four states including Colorado. It's a shame that both her immediate family are dead and that nobody seems to know anything about the circumstances of Roxanne's disappearance. Maybe a trucker is responsible.

RIP, Roxanne.

Child identified, not woman. She was only fifteen.

That was my reaction. A woman of 15? She was a baby.

Rest in peace. I'm glad that she has her name back and her family has closure.

There are still some unanswered questions surrounding her disappearance. Because she went missing from the Los Angeles area and was found deceased in Weld County under what investigators said were suspicious circumstances, and her cause and manner of death are unknown, the case remains an active investigation.

"This is our oldest cold case; I am glad Roxanne has finally been identified, and some of her remaining family members have gotten answers about what happened to her. Going forward, I hope to discover what events led to her death, and how she ended up here," said Kastilahn in a statement
