We have issued a fresh image as we continue to appeal for help in finding a man who is missing from the Woodchurch area of Birkenhead.

Colin Edwards, aged 40 was last seen at around 7am on Thursday 11 January at an address in Woodchurch.

Colin was reported to have been seen in the Arno on Ingestre Road in Oxton on Saturday 13 January. He has further links to Chester and North Wales. Officers are continuing to carry out extensive enquiries to find him.

Colin is described as being around 5ft 6in tall and has a large build.

He was last seen wearing a light brown and grey puffer jacket, black baggy trousers and black boots.

Officers continuing to search for 40-year-old Colin Edwards who is missing from Woodchurch are appealing for any dashcam or CCTV footage after he was seen heading in the direction of Arrowe Park Road on Thursday 11 January.

Colin was last seen at around 7am on Thursday 11 January at an address in Woodchurch.

New doorbell footage of Colin shows him heading towards Arrowe Park Road from the direction of Pool Lane at 7:55am on Thursday 11th January.

CCTV images of Colin at Chester train station on Wednesday 10 January were also released where he was seen wearing the same clothes from the morning of Thursday 11 January which was a light brown and grey puffer jacket, black baggy trousers and black boots.

Colin is described as being around 5ft 6in tall and has a large build. He has links to Chester and the Saltney area of North Wales.

Detective Inspector Anna Hackett said: “Since Colin went missing extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted in the area, and detectives have now issued an image of him walking in the direction of Arrowe Park Road.

“We understand this is not the clearest image of Colin but if you live or work in this area please check any dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage you may have from Thursday 11 January as a matter of urgency and let us know if you see anyone who matches our description of Colin.

“Similarly, if you have seen Colin, please call 999 or report it online. Our officers and Colin’s family are increasingly worried for his welfare so please contact us so we can make sure he is safe.”

There is sad news coming through about Colin. Merseyside Police have released the following statement:

"We can confirm that the body of a man found near to Arrowe Brook Lane in Irby this afternoon (Monday 29 January) is that of missing 40-year-old Colin Edwards.

Officers received a report that the body of a man had been found at around 1pm in the area of Arrowe Brook Lane where he was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

He has been formally identified as Colin Edwards who had been reported missing on Thursday 11 January, and officers are supporting his family at this difficult time.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and the case has been referred to the coroner’s office."
