And as far as never seeing anything like it.....My son was here Sunday night.....I've talked/shown the Chat to my computer guru son and some of his friends...left them all scratching their heads. lol

This (Below in Bold) from the Java Page to check version:

This page tests to see if the JRE is working on your computer. This test applet, written with Java technology, displays information about your operating system, the JVM and the Java Runtime Environment (JRE).

If you can see the dancing Duke logo image animated in the applet above, then the JRE is functioning correctly.

I saw the little dancing guy so I'm assuming Java is working properly?
I also took a screenshot (below).
I think my best bet might be to remove the Java Program and re-install?

Dang, that looks fine. Yeah, remove & reinstall Java, beyond that I'm at a loss.

Okie Dokie.....Here I go. Hope I don't mess anything else up in the process (I'm known for that. )
